  1. You might have heard it as WHS (Incorrect Hand Stack,Wrong Hand Stack)

Rolex GMT models use the following order to the hand stack:Hour hand-Gmt hand-Minute hand-Seconds (sweeping hand)

    Reps use the IHS:Gmt hand-Hour hand-Minute hand-Seconds

Older reps were using the CHS (Correct hand stack) but it was a time bomb due to the unusual positioning of the hour-gmt hand on the 2836-2

  2. LIke Freddy and all the others said, when the watch is on the wrist and far from a 40x zoom lens then it is really hard to get called out, i mean guys over on TRF sometimes miss the IHS on a 16570 or a gmt master.

There was a flame post a few years ago over there where it took the TRF so-called "experts" 10 posts just to notice that the ceramic bezel markings were too grey to be pt brushed and another 5 more or so to finally notice that the watch had the IHS...

WM or TC watches do have their imperfections but still... unless you have a bionic implanted eye with a 10x zoom capability.... or a case opener in hand....well you get it...

although a case opener is the last resort since if you get a rep rolex in your hand and want to test it all you have to do is just try and adjust the hour hand, gen 3035 adjusts to the oposite

side of any asian or eta

    My thoughts...

  3. Well.. i was... but for the wrong reason :p  and since i think this is quite funny i thought i'd share it with you guys

This morning i received the Panda disco that i bought from that old dog we love to call :inverted: THE SIXXER , and as stated in

his sales thread the crown's threads were stripped, so he send me a gen crown/tube along with the watch for a proper

    replacement :notworthy:

So i took the watchhead to a watchmaker who owns a small watch shop down town and services gen Rolex, Omega and other brands as well.

I walked into the shop and handed him the watch head and the gen parts that i needed him to replace for me, he takes the watch and asks me

if i was sure that the parts are the correct ones for this model, then he registers the watch to his system and hands me over a receipt with my name and

    the watch brand.

Did not mention of course that this was a rep.... it slipped my mind completely... obviously ;)

So a few hours later i get a call from him.... he was quite polite and he asked me if... THE CROWN I GAVE HIM WAS A GENUINE EBEL OR AFTERMARKET OR PERHAPS THE WRONG PART NUMBER!!! :bangin:

Seems that the gen crown's inner tube is 1mm longer than the rep one and by realizing that he thought he should warn me just in case i had the wrong one.

He also warned me that if we install this crown the waterproofing of the watch would be compromised since it does not go all the way to meet the case profile, but he could use a special glue to make sure that the risks of getting water into the case would be significantly low.

I was surprised  to be honest, but i told him that since these parts are hard to find he could proceed with installing this crown after being reassured that

all functions would be good (setting day/date, hour, manual winding)

Of course waterproofness is not the strongest point of reps so i really don't care if the watch meets the gen's waterproof specs!!!

So now i am waiting for the watch to be repaired and by Sat morning i will be able to get some wristies, hopefully ;)

Hope you find this interesting, i sure did :partytime:

  4. I was talking with Nikki and i at some point i asked him if had regrets for a rep he sold, you know, the kind of "Oh i wish had that watch on my wrist again, i missed it" regrets, he thought it would be a nice General discussion topic, so here we are guys.... post your thoughts and regrets!!!

    I really miss 4 reps

1)3789, Gen 79320/CT ar/Domi lume, made from parts of V1/V2 editions

    2)BK/WM9 YM

    3)BK/WM9 V3 SUB

4)16570 Black with gen crown/tube,CHS,The Zigmeister lume and service

    How bout you?

  5. My biggest complaint with this watch, other than the band, is the engraving on the back. While correct, it is lazer etched and very shallow.  I have other, cheaper Navitimer reps with accurate backs but none will interchange.  I am considering changing to the incorrect back off of my Serie Speciale (if it will fit) just so it doesn't look so cheap.

Here are a few pictures of the new watch.  rionrlty

I think that you should be more worried about the sunken date wheel and wrong number fonts rather than the engraving on the back, since this is barely noticeable when the watch is on the wrist.

    and the slide ruler alignment

Other than that is a beautiful watch, wear it in good health mate :)
