Jeez, i think nobody really knows
Some say THEY are wanted by the CIA, and that they sleep upside down like a bat...
Some say their skin has the texture of a dolphin

From my point of view
1)Seconds hand @9' subdial is bigger on the gen
2)CP on the gen looks different
3)Metal rings that hold all the hands at all subdials and CP in place are silver on the gen
4)Blue hue from standard rep ar is visible on the rep while on gen everything is clear
-
If you are refering to the price i think this is just a glitch.I've seen a PLOPROF rubber strap quoted for this price but they fixed it after one day or so.I think there is something wrong with the watches that have just been added on the same day. They fix the price during the next
few days

Nice score, OS! Looks great! The dial design kind of remind me of a 6 puck clutch design or something.
I notice this is a GMT; any idea what's powering it? 2893 perhaps?
Congrats on the new purchase
That is correct R
take a look at the specs here

BREITLING DW and Chief AR take this watch to a whole different level IMHO
This is a keeper, wear it well my friend
-
I enjoyed it for almost a year before I sent it out for further modifications. A new gen black dial (bought it from another rare opportunity and I don't know how to source another) was installed. The pearl got relumed. This is the result:
I love this one

Hey guys n gals...

Well it bothers me... Sure, we need to see the watch in person, Pics may not represent the actual watch sent. But these are the claims:
All of which kinda remind me the

Thanks for the replies guys, like Mike said in another post if i wasn't a member in this WIS community i wouldn't even pay attention to
the colour!!!But like most of you such details are really getting into my nerves
Well there is another option of course, i have already contacted Josh and asked him to give me a price for a new black dial along with the hands so i could replace the dial to the more accurate black one.
It is a pitty though cause the overall quality of the watch is superb
I'll have to wait and see how the sale will go and then i will decide, i will give it one week and then i will withdraw it from the sales section. My opinion is that with the black dial and Vac's lume the watch will go to a whole different level
-
Ok guys, just a couple of days ago i received a UN45mm with a white dial. The watch is excellent and the whole construction is
great for a 198$ watch with an A23j movement, but....i am very disappointed with the dial colour that is why i have decided to
sale the watch at RWG sales forum.
But i was kind of wondering though... ...what if i decided to re-paint the colour of the dial and the perform a lume job on the markers...ok the lume job will be done by Vac but i was thinking before i send the dial over to Vac to try and re-paint the dial myself What do you think?can this be done?should i go for it?
.Although there are some other obvious flaws on the watch
i find the colour difference quite annoying because it is the most obvious flaw,it is a whole different colour
Well to be honest i am also [censored] by the statements most dealers have on their sites that the product was "MADE WITH A GENUINE 45mm MAXI DIVER WATCH AS REF...WATCH WAS DISSECTED FOR THIS REPLICATION EXERCISE...HERE IS THE REPLICATED PRODUCT!"
What is the reason for dissecting a watch and not making an accurate dial colour, that is beyond my understanding!!!
Anyway here are some gen pics and then some rep pics just to get an idea of the colour difference
GEN
REP
So what do you think?can this be done?
Thanks!!!

It's the rage among the terrorists. Pair this with a matching explosive vest and you start to get the red and black buttons

That is a great watch...and under-appreciated here. I actually thought the gen was quite nice...more striking in person than pics I had seen. I know what you mean now that you say the dial is white rather than the silver.
That's disappointing about the lume.
I've been on the fence about this one for quite some time.
Thanks for writing this up.
Thanks for your commends S!!!yes i do agree that this watch is under-appreciated since it is an exceptional piece, heavy presence on the wrist. Now if they would (i am not saying could because i am 100% sure they can but for their own reasons don't!!!) replicate the correct
silver colour then that would be one heck of a rep!!!
-
I also noticed that the gens second sub dial has a cut out at the 60 for the pinion.
Yeap you are correct there!!!
The thing is that the dial colour is way off...this is no minor flaw since it is the first thing you notice on this watch. But on the other
hand you should be very familiar with UN models to be able to know that detail!!!
-
Thanks guys
One thing i forgot to mention is that the movement is so smooth you don't even know it is there!!!No wierd rotor noises, no vibrations
nothing, just like the gen
-
Since the day i saw Jkay's UN MMD i wanted to get one for myself as well. The fact that the GEN has a closed caseback and the rep comes only
with a display caseback held me back from ordering the specific model. So i went to the next choice which was the UN MD 45mm
To be honest last week i tried the gen at my local AD and i was disappointed,i mean 7200euros retail price but no quality at all, the gen really looked to me like a waste of money.Modified ETA movement, light weight (due to the Ti case)and generaly it gave me a really cheap watch feeling.Like i said to maxman and cougaree i have handled reps that looked more gen than this one
So today the rep arrived at my door, and i got some pics for you just to display the major flaws on this, besides the 23j movement
that is visible from the display caseback!!!
Well i have spotted four major flaws (make that 3 if you get the black dial version!!!)
1)The dial colour should be silver and not white (although due to the double ar from some angles looks silverish)
2)The date mag is too low, the 30 secs line on the seconds subdial is visible on the gen but not here due to the lower position of the mag
On the contrary the 60 secs line is not visible on the gen (on the rep it is)
3)The AUTOMATIC 200M and the ULYSSE NARDIN tags should sit recessed in the dial and not on top
4)The weight!!!this thing is really heavy and since the GEN is entirely of Ti...well you get the picture
Regarding the size of this thing...IT IS HUGE and HEAVY!!!
The clasp is great for a rep, snaps without any problems and the diver's deployant works great, reminded me the OMEGA style.
Overall construction is great for a rep, the bezel is a beauty, colours, pearl and functionality are gen like
To be honest i was waiting to be disappointed from the case back and the movement display but...the rotor is nicely decorated and the
movement does not look bad either
All markings are nicely done, crown is good (no hacking mechanism there)
Lume....well...not good....not good at all...Ulysse Nardin is well known for the quality of the lumination on the timepieces they make, so
this is a major flaw, but then again all reps have that flaw as well.Pearl and hour markers have no lume at all , the only lume
i found was on the hour and minute hands, this one is going over to Domenico for a full lume treatment for sure
PR is working (no faux PR here) and also the number plate is silver and not gold, so no scotch brite treatment is needed
Overall i am happy with the watch, josh told me that it runs +4 secs a day, i will have to put that to the test and let you know.
Also don't forget to clean and oil the bracelet, No1 priority there!!!
That is about it guys, thanks for reading, reviews are not my stongest point!!!

Maxi Marine Diver SS lovin'
This photo was the main reason for ordering my UN BTW!!!
When i saw Jkay's MMD i fell for it, if it only had a closed caseback...
Besides that this rep is spot on
