  1. I think the other thing that really is great about when a new member interacts and sticks around is that they learn much more about watches than if they were to join a genuine forum (in general). Because we know about the little flaws in the reps, we also know when a gen is a gen......rep WIS's are very anal (picky and precise)

    @b16a2

I couldnt agree more.I am a member in some of the so called genwatch forums and it is quite impresive the fact that all those ppl who are into

gen watches have not the slightest idea on how to spot a difference between a rep and a gen watch.

Absolutely shocking. But i think it is due to the fact that in most of those forums ppl aren't allowed to talk about reps, just like it is

a contagious disease or just because the others might think low of them.So much for the free expression of thoughts.

  2. Well said b16.

The main thing for all of the newcomers is to understand first that there is no such thing as a "PERFECT REPLICA"

no AD,no watchsmith and no one who really is into the rep hobby will ever be fooled by a replica watch.

If our goal is to fool an AD then we are way off the track.

The way i see it,99% of the averege guy out there is not able to distinguish the difference between a gen and a rep

    Rolex,let along a Breit or a Graham!!!

Also only a small percentage actually pays any attention at all to the watch someone is wearing.

So if our goal is to impress someone or to fool an AD then i am sorry to inform all of the newer members

out there that this is not going to happen.

Just take pleasure of the piece you have purchased, wear it well and in good health and try to learn about

the watch you are wearing.Learn its history, learn how it works, learn how to make it look closer to a gen but

mostly dont fool yourselves that you are actually wearing a gen Rolex or whaterver.

Wear the watch but dont allow not even for a sec for it to wear you.

Thanks guys for reading my expressed opinion,i hope you repect it as i respect yours.

  3. Couldn't agree more Jmarin, but generally forum members here have all the time in the world for those who show willingness, it's those that are here and show no participation that sometimes get the blunt end of the replies.

    For example

    New Member #1 posts;

I have searched the Rolex forum, and found out the new Wm9 is one of the best Subs around. I am on a budget, and don't know whether I can justify spending that much when I could get a Noobmariner which seems to be cheaper, and I can't see that there are that many differences. Can anyone point me in the right direction.

    New Member #2 posts;

Where can I buy the best Rolex Sub?

In the first scenario most members would agree that they have done a search and are seeking help. In the second scenario, it's pure laziness, something that we see quite a lot and it does get boring.

    Point taken ;)

I agree that a lot of ppl are way to lazy to bother to search and they want their food ready and served.

I on the other hand found this forum late and i am mad at my self cause i learned about the reps through

paying trial and error,if i may pUt it this way.For my first replicas i overpaid up to 650$ just because i thought

i was going to get a top of the notch-near gen high end watch!!!

But as i already said now i know better and i am searching constantly for the best info in here and RG

And i got to say that in here i have found information that i still can't believe it could ever exist.

And thanks to you guys those first 650 $ watches are now a part of my watch repairing-mod training

equipment!!!since they are not good for anything else!!! :p

    Cheers :D

  4. Personally i don't find those kind of questions annoying.

It s the normal thing for someone to do considering the fact

that he is new to this "hobby" or whatever we may want to call it.

What i find annoying is the insults that a new member has to go through

by some of the older members when he asks those kind of questions.

Just because he is new to this forum and has posted only 1 or 2 times

this doesn't give us the right to call him a newbie and throw it back

at his face prompting him in a bad manner to read the rules.

I dont judge a book by its cover...so i cannot judge a new member by

its first post and call him a damn newbie who doesnt know anything...

if he did he wouldn't care to ask.

Also i dont have a problem providing someone with an answer as long as i have one to give to a new

member.I btw am a new member.

If someone finds it annoying, then simply shouldnt bother to read the post in the

first place. All the posts have a title which id the main theme of them,so we can

choose what to read and what not.

I personally read all the posts which i find interesting according to my specific criteria

(mostly tech stuff)and i choose not to read something that i dont find interesting.

The public forums all over the world are based on free and open minded posting

and we are all in here to help each other, newbies or not.

    Thanks for reading guys.

  5. I have sent 5 times to my rep dealer in China from EU and only in one case the watch was lost but this was due to my responsibility

since i sent it as a regular unregistered air mail. :bangin:

i couldnt blame the dealer for this. The risk is always higher in such cases and i accepted it.

The shipping time for the other four was from two up to six weeks. There was no stantard time and given the fact that indeed is a holiday season...well

i wouldn't worry to much though. My opinion is that the watch will get to J's hands. :good:

    Just be patient.

    John

  6. It's a con, stay away from those company's. Have a read around this board, and check out the 'collectors' section further down the forum. All of these are trusted, some are more popular than others, so do a little research.

As for the Daytona, hold off buying one for a few weeks, a new movement has supposedly been released which is about to be reviewed. If it's any good, then it might be worth buying one. A seach for 'seconds at 6' would probably turn up some good info on this movement.

    Welcome to the board.

    Totally agree +1

Just take a look at this

    http://www.ripoffreport.com/searchresults....p;Search=Search

    Stay away

  7. My advice: put your credit card back in your wallet and read around this forum. Stick to dealers on here and you will be in a much better position.

EDIT: To be clear, they aren't Swiss Reps, the grade system is made up. Read the information here.

    +1

    I couldn't agree more.

And also there is no such thing as a GRADE APPOINTING COUNCIL FOR WATCH REPLICAS!!!

And bestswiss is a known scam site.

Only gen watches worth that kind of money.

  8. What about the radiation limits of those rep phones?i think guys, and correct me if i am wrong that the majority of those reps are not tested for radiation(SAR LIMITS)and also their batteries most of the time are like time bombs. We are not talking about harmless rep watches here,we are talking about appliances which emit radiation next to our heads. I dont want to sound like i am trying to spoil this for you but some things must be noted :)

  9. Congrats on your first purchase. I too recently acquired a SSD V2, you are going to be really impressed with this one. Ok they screwed up the frontal rehaut a little, but don't let that put you off the amazing build quality of this watch, it will blow you away!

In terms of mods, there's 3 things you can do to bring this very close to gen, and they're pretty simple providing you take your time and your good with your hands.

Swap the pearl with a WM pearl, sand/file down the insert so that it sits flush against the bezel, and trim the cg's. With these 3 mods done, good luck in getting called out ;)

What about the crown?after the cg's are trimmed is there a crown close to gen that we could use to replace the one came originaly with the watch?

    Thanks

  10. Very kindly described... ^_^

    @jmarin.72

You have a lot of reviews here about the SSD, and there is everything listed...

But here some issues: Crown too wide, Crystal bevel wrong, eched crown too big, 5 min hour markers are not thicker, date window is too small (too quadratic), Pearl is off, lume not strong enough, SEL's are wrong, CG's wrong shaped (or better said they need a shape), rehaut too wokky, I guess from the pic it is a SSD V2, so the Bezel is OK - if it's a V1 the bezel is wrong.

And of course your hour hand is not correctly positioned... :D

But this can be done by a local watchmaker (or by a modder here from RWG who is maybe in your country) without problems.

And don't worry, this failures can only be spoted by a trained eye or a direct comparison, so wear it without fear!

EDIT: A pic - your vs. gen, so u can train your eye...

:D Mine looks better!!! and more shinny!!!

Dear Omega hi and thanks again for your reply

I couldnt have said it any better!!!(or to be more accurate,i have already stated it before your reply!!!)

I know that you guys in here are miles away from the average replica buyer that's why i trust your opinion and i have

asked for it.And sometimes i think that most of you should be hired by ROLEX in order to skyrocket its watches up to new

    limits!!! :D

BTW have you or any other member here to suggest an RWG watchmaker cause some of my watches need service and small repair works

and i am very skeptical about taking them to a watch maker, not because there is a law problem but mostly because i am a little embarrassed

to take a couple of replicas to a professional watchmaker :(
