  1. Good to see a whole bunch of Sydneysiders here.
  2. Mrs Bean's personal rep collection includes a PAM049, PAM111H, Brietling Navitimer(white dial) and Omega PO 42mm black w/ orange numerals. Next on her list of wants is the "pretty watch" PAM024 and the B&R 01-92 (yellow). I'm a lucky man.
  3. Doing decal using Alps printer was my first avenue of thought, I was advised that I may need to apply (airbrush) a coat of clear matt varnish to help reduce the possibility of seeing the edges of the decal. Any thoughts on that Dudemeister? How noticeable would the edges be?
  4. I had a local printer (pad printer) do this one off dial for me. There must be one in your local area I would imagine. Just look for those little outfits that do corporate goodies. Pens, cups, etc.
  5. Very nice E, as always . Now to fill the other 2/3 with more beauties.
  6. Thank you all for your honesty, it's what I asked for and expected. As you will read in my opening post I too believe it too busy and stitch heavy. And as the majority thinks the same I will not be turning these babies out in the 100s. Instead I will stick with what appeals to my tastes. Thanks again. Bob My Taste albeit a bit soft on the focus
  7. Personally I don't get the post 1970s Ingenieur, before they redesigned (mid '70s) it was a stunning classic. The Rolex Milguss is another one that I find dull and boring.
  8. They just make me giggle. Still now when I look at them I giggle. Flies on a towel tanning, bad acrobatics and the first 2 in line for the diving board are having a natter. I love it Gives then a life, a touch of humanity.
  9. I thought I'd try some stitching on a butter-soft strap to see how it wears. For me, this type of strap it way too much and I prefer a simple stitched strap. So I thought I'd ask you all for your opinions. Would you wear this type of strap? Do you like "heavily" stitched straps? All thoughts and opinions appreciated. Cheers as always, Bob (Overlook the faults as it's a prototype!)
  10. has not set their status

  11. First go with 50 yr old Swiss ammo . I love it.
  12. Just watch Mr DBs post count grow. If your very quiet you will hear it grow.
  13. Why so? I thought that nearly all 77 had been pre-sold.
  14. Just wondered if anyone has a spare movement that I'm looking for. It's the Auto movement from a Ulysse Nardin Maxi Marine. It has PR @12, date @6 and seconds @6. I have had a look at Ofrei without any success. cheers Bob
  15. Count me in, thanks Lani. Thanks to RWG & PerfectClones/Trustywatch
  16. Great pics and a fun day! I thought my face only ended up looking like that much later on in the night!
  17. Cheers O/S, I will keep a close eye on it for the next fortnight. A nice shiny UN maxi for a mate. bob
  18. Would I be right in assuming that some watches can run fast/slow for a week or so, and then settle down to a decent time accuracy after a running in period? It's running about -2min over 3 hours, after being kicked to life for the first time today. __________________
  19. Thanks Zig, I'll open her up later and have closer inspection of the hands
  20. Rodico doesn't work? Ggrr I just bought some for cleaning up some dials. It'll get used anyway, but I thought it was good for removing oils from dials.
  21. I am trying to puzzle it out. Just picked it up to swirl it in my hand and it runs for a few minutes. But watching it closely I see it stops dead when the second hand reaches the minute hand. It has stopped on it 3 times since I have just been " swirling it, every time dead on the minute hand. So I think that something is sticking. To add to it, this is only happening during the " date change" time zone 11pm-ish. I have just reset the time to the correct time and it is running fine, I had it run fine all day yesterday it was only last night at, as I said, about 11.30 that it got stuck. Could this be because he has set the date between 10-2pm? Trying to reason why. So to summarise. Second hand stops on the minute hand during the date change "zone", irrespective of the PR "volume". Swirling it kicks it back to life for a minute or two, then it stops on the minute hand again. Seems to run fine otherwise. It has ran smoothly for the last 2 hours ( set to the correct AM time, but I am sure that at 11:30pm-ish tonight it will stop dead with the second hand right on top of the minute hand. The date wheel is half way through it's switching over when this all occurs. As for the power reserve, it may actually be decreasing even when the hands "stick". Not 100% sure will check tonight, as I'm just letting it run at the moment. cheers Zig Bob
