I use a Bergeon 1.4mm shrew driver for strap changes and does the job very well. Not sure which brand is OEM but doubt they're better quality than these.

Excellent post, PT and thanks for taking the effort to shed some light on this subject, at least with your watches.
I'm not much of a gold guy but after playing with a buddy' s gen TT, I certainly would not mind having one in the watch case. It is a gorgeous watch.

Ed David deal mainly in newer models most of which are in minty condition. Their inventory turns faily often and the good stuff doesn't last long. Omega and Rollies are their strong suit.

As Ubi mentioned, the white SD is also an excellent choice and the MBW's dial is excellent Not as rare or expensive in the collectors' market as the RR so you may feel more comfortable with it. White SD's remain relatively affordable in vintage SD land at the 7K price range.
