  1. The price is about right. However, when you do buy one of those, then you will start wondering if DSN's better... later you might end up with one... after that you will realize that you wasted your $70 because you don't need two watches...

Anyway, I bought stuff from the following two sellers, they are about in the price range you specified. Really nothing wrong with the watch... you will get what you pay for. If you are not into making sure yours is as close to gen as possible or sapphire crystals... then this is a good way to go.

  2. Thanks! Well, I use to have the light caramel strap until my wife told me it makes more like a big old man's watch... so I stopped using it. Yeah, I am pretty much going to the stealth look... Boy I sure miss this watch... Hopefully I will get it back from reluming soon :)

nice strap! have you thought of getting a light caramel color strap? It always looks striking..... unless you're going for the steal look ;)
  3. Vac,

It just happened that I had to deal with sinus this last weekend, so I know how you feel :( I hope you feel better soon. Take you time on those watches I sent you (you will be getting two more this week) :) I don't need them right away as I have plenty here to tell what time it is.

  4. Hi guys,

This is one of the MM watch I have. Do you think if I'd be better off getting a DSN dial instead of superluming (with C3) the one I have on it currently? Does the DSN dial have bigger and buckier numbers? I am not really trying to make it look as close as gen 127, but I would like to make it to have better parts available. BTW, any thoughts on crown guards?

There seems to be a variety of ETA 6497 movements out there. I am just wondering if someone can educate me a little bit on it. What is the difference between H versus E movement, square bridge etc... any pictures would be even better.

    Thank you very much! :)

  5. It probably makes more sense to just sell what you have and buy a new one. You will most likely have to mill the inside of the case to take a different movement ring and to ensure that the stem coming off the movement lines up with the crown hole on the case. In other words, you will likely need a new movement ring or at a minimum need to remill the interior of the case.

I see. Thanks for your input. For some reason I thought it would be a lot easier... assuming the rep factories use the same case over and over again, but I guess it's not case.

Where can I locate better minute and hour hands then? Having them fixed may bother me less. :)

  6. I have a Marina Militare GMT watch. It works well but I'm really not a GMT automatic pam person. To me the case look awfully similar to the 111 or 112 cases (see image below). I'm wondering if anyone here has done any conversions before similar before. I understand that I may lose the crystal, dial, hands and movements, and only reuse the case. I really like the case.

Additionally, you may notice the tips of the minute and hour hands are hollow. Do you know anywhere I can get a pair of non-hollow hands for this watch? I think the watch is running on an Asian movement (have not opened the case yet).

    Thanks!
