Delta, I think he meant which watch strap looks the best I like the greenish one personally.
-
The CG is very average and not as good as our usual ones..Plus it is polished like the case which is no good for a preV.

Beautiful Watch J ...Such a timeless classic and a must for every watch lover.

Miles I have the same set as in your photo at home so will try tonight and report back if they fit this case or not. Edit: Just tried and the ebay preV screw system does not fit.

Alright so the PreV case that I have been waiting on has arrived in my hot hands and has some good points and some bad points to it. It has rounded and stubby lugs which are nice and the case set also comes with some pre v screws which means you don't have to drill your case if you buy the ebay ones. Having said that they are not all that accurate and the ebay set are the preferred preV screws. The crystal is Sapphire with no AR and no pink hue to it like Davidsens crystals. So far the case is looking pretty good but it does have some bad points. Firstly test fitting the T48 crown.. The tube in the case is just a little bigger inside than our standard rep tubes and there is a little bit of wobble...It does not fit in as snuggly as I would like. Also there are no flat portions where the crownguard feet sit so the V crownguard does not sit flatly at all on this case. I think if this was going off to The Zigmeister to mod then this would not be a problem but for the home modders there is a little bit more work than usual in getting the crown and the Crownguard to fit and look perfect. The last bad point is it has the strap cutouts which I believe are not accurate for a good pre V case. This case set did come with a crown and crownguard but they are normal rep fare and the crown is a throw away as it is just crap....Here's a photo to laugh about..Not sure what the hell the blue stuff is. So if you are prepared to work with this case then it could be pretty good but all in all I think it has it's share of weakness's just like the rest. The caseset cost me $80 and was from Mary at www.swissgallory.com... Her email address is watchgallery88@gmail.com and she takes paypal. I had a very smooth transaction with Mary and she is very nice but I never bought a watch from her website so please take all the usual cautions if you decide to do this....Besides her prices are high and why deviate from our standard dealers for these. I hope this mini review helps out a bit.

Love this rep as well and as usual Rob has worked his magic..That lume is unreal.
-
Hmmm so you have to remove the whole bezel to take off the insert....I was hoping I could pry it off from the front by slipping a blade around it and then glue the black one on using G-S hype cement but it doesn't look like it is going to be that easy. Rob I think your way is for a more experienced person...I'm a beginner at best.

Question: I want to change my orange bezel insert for a black one..Can I somehow pop off just the bezel insert without removing the whole bezel from the watch and if so what is the easiest way.?

Seller is from the Philippines and has only 1 sale for a few coins so you would be silly to buy this....Rep for sure. -
I have two black ones coming for mine so if I don't stuff one up then you can have the second one for no charge. Give me a week or so and PM me.

Question regarding a certain dealers watch
bwhitesox replied to JuniorNA's topic in General Discussion
Nope Breitling never made a quartz version of the Avenger...As for the second one there are too many flaws to recommend this one either. Why not go for a skyland, Evolution or a super ocean...All are much better reps than the above two. -
1- Remove the case back 2- pull out the crown to the handchange position 3- slowly unscrew the small screw that sits beside the crown stem no more than one and a half turns. 4- gently pull the stem out of the movement. 5 - Chances are you are going to need a new stem with the T crown as the rep stem will probably be too short for the deep thread in the new T crowns. If not just grab the square part of the stem with long nose pliers and unscrew the rep crown...Now just screw the new T crown onto the stem. 6 - Place the stem back into the movement, tighten the small screw and push the crown in to the winding position...Adjust the screw a little tighter and you're done. New Stem- This is a little bit of trial and error as you need to shorten the new stem but not make it too short. You can't go by the original one as the T crown has a deeper thread. Once you have shortened the stem then place it back into the movement...If it is still too long then try and shorten again until you have it perfect. Tighten the small screw and push the crown in to the winding position...Adjust the screw a little tighter and you're done. Good luck.

Try Ajoesmith over at repgeek...$100 odd dollars from memory.
-
LOL yea the dial isn't the best on this piece...No wonder they closed the factory
-
Love the watch Robbie..What is the background on this brand as I'm not familiar with them..Obviously some nautical history.? And of course as usual stunning photos.
-
For the record what does that washer do as one of my movements did not come with that.??
-
Easy to do as the hour wheel just sits on the cannon pinion and will fall off if you turn the movement over....At least it was an easy fix
-
I can't really see properly but did you put the hour wheel back on.?
-
Totally agree T you should not be taking a bigger hit than you already have. On a positive note I'm sure you will sell more than the 300 48 Crowns to at least break even. On behalf on the community I want to thank you again for these wonderful crowns....48 or 60.

Breitling Skyland Black Steel
bwhitesox replied to lanikai's topic in The Two R's Watch Reviews - Lani & Ubi
Nice one guys but heck whats happening with these movements. I think this is a Major problem and one that should be bought to the attention of the dealers a most people wouldn't know how to open up the watch and adjust it. -
