  1. Thanks for the info, I appreciate it.
  2. My cruise is coming up in a few weeks...just thought I'd try once more for feedback. Thanks!
  3. I'm going on a cruise in Sept. and the POCs are Nassau Bahamas, Charlotte Amalie St. Thomas, and Philipsburg, St. Maarten. Are there any known-solid collectors in any of those places? I'd love to buy a watch while I'm on the trip, and this seems like a great and rare opportunity to maybe see a few different ones in person, and get something nice. aside: is it hard/worrisome to get such a watch back into the US? I don't know if just wearing it is enough to get by, or...? Any thoughts would be welcome.
  4. Thanks for that...this thread is me trying to find a watchmaker who is willing to work on it.
  5. If the ad doesn't say "comes with 2GB card" then you have no right in any way to expect it. Why would you expect to receive something that isn't in the ad? I have a couple of cameras, a phone, and an MP3 player, all of which use SD cards of some sort, and if I sold any of them, it wouldn't even occur to me to sell the card with it, as I'll use it in the next device I buy. I can't believe I'm the only person to reply saying this...it's just silly. Unless the ad says "comes with a 2GB SD card" you weren't conned or screwed or anything else. You got exactly what you paid for. In fact, I'd say you were lucky to get any card at all. You mentioned that he broke promises to you. What promise was that? If he promised to give you a 2GB card and didn't then that'0s a whole different story, but I didn't see that in your post. Not to mention they cost like $9US new...why worry about it?
  6. I just bought this watch a few weeks ago...it's an inexpensive Omegamatic Seamaster rep. It's nothing special, but I enjoy it and it's my first rep. Well apparently I left it where my youngster could get to it, and I found it face down on teh tile floor with a broken crystal. If someone could point me in the right direction for repair I'd appreciate it (CONUS). Or, is this something I could bring to a local shop? I'd love to support a forum member who is reliable and does repairs if there is such a person. Thanks!
  7. You just refunded him yesterday...not everybody is in front of a computer every day all day...give him a chance. Nice job re: the refund by the way. That's what I'd do every time.
  8. If noise isolation is an issue, try the Etymolic ER6i. They come with variously sizes silicone ear pieces that fit into the ear like an ear plug, and provide excellent isolation. I use them riding a motorycyle, and the noise isolation is so good that I don't even have to turn up the volume on my MP3 player between walk-around use and 85mph on the freeway use.
  9. I see where you're coming from with that...ya I can see it that way too. But still...
  10. Isn't it a little disingenuous to talk about scruples re: copying watches on a replica watch forum? Just sayin'...
  11. Of course you're right...I was thinking of the sub when I posted that...just had a n00b brain fart. Also, when I said that it's crap, I meant with regard to replicating a Rolex re: the appearance. I have no doubt that it's a fine watch for barely over $100...and probably a perfectly good way for someone to dip a toe in the water of automatic watches w/o spending a fortune. Heck, maybe I'll get one and report on it
  12. THis is a URL for a page on the JC Penney site. I'm a n00b, so sorry if this is a silly post... http://tinyurl.com/c2o6cw It's an Invicta brand watch, but it's pretty obviously meant to be a SD rep w. different branding. I wasn't surprised when I first saw it, but it's even got an automatic movement. When I saw the page I was sure it would be quartz, but no. Of course, comapred to the rep's on here that folks work so hard to produce it's utter crap, but it just struck me funny that it even existed. Is this common?
  13. From a real capital 'F' fish (me) to a rep guy who's now an RWG fish (you), isn't this place great? I haven't hardly gotten any work done since I joined here. I had no idea there was such a hardcore, knowledgable rep community...no idea at all. re: Rush...my first one was the Moving Pictures tour...awesome show.
  14. Oh, one other thing. I'm sure I'm just missing it, but I swear I did search, and I can't find how to become a contributing member. Even though I'm new, my short time here has saved me from almost definitely making a terrible mistake on my first rep purchase. Thanks!
