  1. MR. DSSD i hope you don't mind me calling you that. Great job man. thanks
  2. sorry to hear about your watch. the same thing happened to my 21j dssd, it just stopped i wound it 20 times, just like freddy333 said, and observed. it worked. but i noticed that when i shake the watch, the rotor only turns about three to four times. i compared it to my 21j sub, it turns so many times and stops only after about 5 secs for a single shake. so i opened my dssd, turned the rotor, and noticed it touches something on the base. what i did was, unscrew the rotor, placed a drop of teflon based oil on the bearing, screwed back the rotor, closed it and shook the watch normally. well what do you know, it now turn so many times, and it's much less noisy than before. hope you get yours fixed thanks
  3. yup, bigger pix is much better i really would love to see what you did to the pearl thanks

what did you do? you should place the watch directly under a lamp for about a minute your watch is new. normal lighting would not charge the lume especially the new ones. that's what happened when ireceived my dssd. after doing that, normal lighting can now charge my lume easily btw, my lume is blue on pearl and hands, bluish-green on markers hope this helps thanks
  6. i really don't know what kind or brand it is. i just bought it in a sachet. also it doesn't lume that long.
  7. i was looking for a blue lume it was not available at any watch store, in fact they didn't even know it existed. actually i just finished repainting my bezel white again if ever i can find a blue lume, i'll do it again thanks
  8. offshore, i don't dive but i think you're right, it would have been very useful
  9. here are some daylight pix it looks greenish on daylight i am going to redo the mod, now i'll use flat white
  10. i just tried thinkbacs idea of dssd bezel lume i bought a gree lume powder i scratched off the enamel paint mod i did on the insert i placed i new paint and spread the lume powder this is the result sorry for the crappy pix, i only used my 9500 camfone and a sony digicam it's very hard to shoot pix because the lume only last for a second on the camera thanks
  11. hikeUSA, nope, my lume markers lumes evenly. the hands and pearl are much bluer though my pearl was not centered on the triangle, i had to shave off a bit of the pearl mounting to get it centered btw, my pearl is not chromed, if it was, the copper would have shown when i shaved a bit off its mounting thanks
  12. i think what you got there is a V2 with a V3 bezel insert. V2 has 1 pc caseback i noticed that your crystal is too "Dome" compared to the V3. but your rehaut is like the V3, because V2 is too deep i'm not trying to imply anything, this is just my observation i maybe right or i maybe wrong thanks
  13. HikeUSA, nice paint job. did you replace your pearl? how did you get it centered? thanks
  14. Great shots of a very beautiful watch! Man i wish i was you! thanks for sharing
  15. Thank you very much for that great tutorial. Now my only problem is, i've got a 21J movement. anyways, i'll just try to remove it. thanks
  16. thinkbachs, that is a great idea. i will try that as soon as i can find a blue lume thanks
  17. mine depresses and releases too like yours good thing you posted this, i'm used to cleaning my watch under running water now i'll be careful not to. thanks
  18. Ricardo, congrats. i plan to buy one someday.
  19. hi guys, here's what i did on my DSSD V3 insert; first i bought a quart of white quick drying enamel paint and a loupe, then i pinched a little portion of a cigarette butt, just enough to make it pointy as a needle, using the loupe, i dipped the pointy butt to the paint and put it unto each marker on the insert. i put paint on each marker one at a time, not painting the whole insert at once. just make sure you cover all the sides or edges of a single marker. don't mind the excess paint. after putting paint on each marker, leave it to dry for about 10 minutes. after 10 min, get a toothpick, again using the loupe, carefully scratch out the excess paint on each marker. you will notice that the paint you placed on each marker seems to engulf the whole side and leaving a hollow middle portion retaining the engraved look. if you could carefully remove your insert and do the process on this link, http://repgeek.com/showthread.php?t=...modifi cation i suggest you do that, i think it would look much better. i would also do the same spray paint job as soon as somebody post a thread on how to remove the bezel insert. for now, i think what i did will do just fine for me. thanks goodluck
