  1. Yes.

Josh has 2 versions. The one with the subdial ring is the first one that came out, the dial is also inaccurate visually (the grey dial is much lighter). I bought that one.

Josh then updated the dial to become the correct darker grey.

I had Josh update my watch(the light grey) to the correct grey dial.

    Mine was: http://www.jpc8118.com/aap10051-royal-chronograph-rgle-grey-a7750-sec12-p-5742.html

Mine now looks like : http://www.jpc8118.com/aap10052-royal-chronograph-rgru-grey-a7750-sec12-p-5743.html <---- Correct one

  2. I have considered getting a GEN, but the thought of the watch dying on me and being stuck with a 1k paper weight is just to heartbreaking to bare.

I have written to Archimede but have not heard back.. what do you think of his pics? is that a rep band or GEN?

I think his is a rep band. If you want to see a gen band, find a thread from apollo about his volcano on gen strap. ()

Regarding the movement, The Zigmeister said the configuration sec at 12 is fine as long as it is properly serviced. The main cause of failure is poor QC (dirty movement etc).

I have been quite lucky as none of mine has stopped working, but I do not use them everyday with the exception of the volcano.

Others might be a bit unlucky as there is a member here who bought 3 watches and they all stopped working.

It is for you to decide if it is worth the risk.

For me it is, because I know if it stopped working within a reasonable timeframe, the dealer will fix it for me.

  3. I think the rep hornbacks are fine,of course not comparable to gen, but not bad at all.

Some members on RG actually have bought a strap from APbands and they said the quality of the strap is not worth the price ($350) compared to the rep strap. That is the reason I stick with rep hornbacks for the time being.

I would highly suggest getting a gen (about $500) if you are concerned about the strap, definitely worth the extra $150 compared to APbands.

I have not had any experience with HKtan but from what I saw, they were pretty good.

  4. The dial is still in accurate on the Rose Gold Rubber Clad. Should be dark gray, not black.

IMO, the old one is better because they are still gray even though they are too light.

Somehow, I do not think bumblebee will be repped, because of the forged carbon it uses. If they knew how to make the carbon, they would have made alinghi already.

But that is one fantastic piece and I hope they will rep it someday.

Sachin is quite accurate. There is a member here who bought the sachin and they looked pretty good.

  5. Did you know that Hongkong sold the most luxury watches in the world?

I read it in a watch magazine not long ago. So it is no surprise that people are wearing good watches everywhere in HK.

    Same as in Singapore.

In the states, chances of seeing a good watch are slimmer even in big cities like Chicago or NY. They would rather sport a huge bling bling full diamond watch. Don't know why.

  6. Come on already. Stop with these posts. You are obviously upset with AP Bands quality over your strapluxe brand straps. You are strapluxe.com. Everyone knows this, stop it already. It's so childish. Let the products speak for themselves.

Remember these are reps here, not the real thing but close.

All you do across all forum boards is shill and "try" to bring down other strapmakers. For that reason alone I wouldn't buy from you. I was considering the IWC straps you offer for my big pilots but this behavior is a major deterrent

hmmm..Im not sure watchturbo is strapluxe...

anyway..I've bought straps from strapluxe before and I am very happy..

Im about to get one from APbands but they are more expensive (almost $350, while gen is about $500)and I have been told that the hornbacks are not much better than the rep hornback.

  7. It's a looker thats for sure...

But the rep is missing the second chrono pusher..

No..the basic chronograph excalibur have 2 models..one with the two chrono pusher, another with three...all correct.

From what I can see, the rep is spot on...subdial spacings perfect..

edit: subdial spacing not perfect but much better than easy diver

  8. thank you for the pics..absolutely fantastic.

Guys, What are the chances people will notice the gear? Also, the subdials appears to be silver, isn't it supposed to be white?

IMHO, not many people have seen the RB and if they have seen one they might not noticed the gear. I don't think even owners will notice the gears. We are discussing a macro shot here, even if an owner hold it in his hand, IMO, he would not notice it. What do you guys think?
