  1. Here is my 42mm PO with AR, sapphire crystal, bracelet, ETA clone movement keeping exact time....a beaut... and the orange bezel 42mm version....same specs ....
  2. Beg to differ on the bracelet being crappy, unless it was an earlier version..I had read they were rough and needed edge filing... Mine must be the newer version, though still with the word Professional on it. Love it...very hefty and well made, despite a broken link pin, which problem was later fixed.
  3. Like Christmas...anticipation is half the fun! haha!
  4. I noticed on my 42mm black bezel version that the springbars were bent after wearing the watch on a nylon strap, waiting for the SS bracelet to return from repairs. Luckily I had a spare set the right size when the bracelet arrived. Anyone have this similar experience and are there better made quality ones out there? I had a set of stronger spare ones but they were too thick to fit....just wondering.....thanks for any replies......
  5. good to hear you are satisfied with the 42mm one.....and hope rlox too should enjoy this fine replica....have to say mine ranks up there with many of my seikos.....which is saying alot......!!! new shot of my black version.... and the orange bezel version....
  6. shot these this morning and love it...very moody image...
  7. hahaha! I sympathize with you there....the end link fit is really tight!!!! Fitting it ON was just as frusttrating as you trying to remove it! So, from now on, I will let my Japanese watchmaker do all that if need be....he has all the proper tools and know-how to do the job!!! I watched him remove 2 links with his right gear!!.....and he did not want to charge me! but I gave him some money anyways, since he does all my watch work...and he is 86? relox, I don't show the PO purposely to others but did show it to one of my Panasonic engineer students...his wife wanted a basic $100 watch for Valentine's Day....my student's jaw dropped when he felt and found out what I had paid for the rep!!!! hahahaha!
  8. Have to agree with all you guys.... Ronin's reasons are similar to mine....depends on mood and what is required for the occasion....I have 30 watches, mostly vintage Seikos, a 1989 gen Omega quartz, etc. Now my 2 Omega PO reps are center stage and loving them! (for the price point and quality of course! haha!)
  9. thanks, fellas, you won't be disappointed with the 42mm...installing the endlinks is a bit finicky because the tolerance is nil hahaha! so tight.....took me 15 minutes to fiddle with them without trying to scratch the lugs....
  10. thanks, Teejay. Feels excellent on the wrist too...well balanced though the bracelet is heavy in hand! The end link is very tightly toleranced and had a helluva time catching the springbars into their holes. My watchmaker took out his tools and removed 2 links cuz I like the band to fit snug, not loose. Now it wears just super! Feels and looks great! Supposedly the watch has the ETA clone....whatever....it keeps very accurate time, quick to charge up the reserve, and makes me happy hahaha!
  11. Another poster in the USA has same ....no response from Angelo. Mind you, his wife just had a new baby and he does have a fulltime job which takes him out of the country in Europe.....usually he accesses his website if out of Spain.....
  12. My buddy in HKong returned to the Chinese factory and had the pin fixed and sent it to me in Japan. Took a bit of fiddling to install, as the end links are very fine tolerances. Heavy sucker! Not the updated one but has the Professional word enscribed on the clasp. Nevertheless, it is very heavy. Now to have my watchmaker remove 1 or 2 links to fit my smallish 6.5 inch wrist..... The orange bezel version will have the black Milspec still on, but the bracelet will stay on the black version...very dressy and heavy!!!
  13. in matching straps and still looking fine. I first put the orange bezel version on a tan zulu and liked it (after removing the original orange I bought the watch with). Then the black Milspecs went on and now both are using the black Milspecs. but soon the SS bracelet which should have come with the black bezel is arriving, after having the broken link pin fixed back in China by my bud. So, will see how that looks on the Black model.....never hurts to pretend I'm Bond in Q of S movie! hahahaaaaaaaaaaa!
  14. thanks for the kind compliments, Tor and rhank. The Maratac Milspec one strap came from the MWR (Military Watch Resource) site. They send only connus but are quite reasonably priced. They have a slight sheen too....
  15. thanks, Jody....I'm no pefection freak and am aware of the faults compared to the UPO, but still great bang for the buck and fun to wear!
  16. Black straps are Maratac Milspecs.....the fixed SS bracelet with faulty pin is in transit now from HKong....
  17. Glad you all enjoyed seeing what Fleed can do with watches! He is very creative and just learned how to beadblast for the right textures. He has lumed several of my vintage stuff, including G shocks years ago. For those living in Europe he is one of the few doing beadblasting. There are 3 or 4 guys in the USA who do it also....one in the UK.....
  18. he calls it his mil looking version, plus he relumed the dial... his site is called The Relumer.... damn cool, if you ask me!
  19. Sorry, Whitestripes, it IS a 42mm bezel width to crown as is my orange bezel version, sourced in China Jimster, mine are not modded. Came as you see it from China, picked by my friend who can speak some Chinese. He likely asked for a higher end movement , as this black version is the cat's meow! (sorry for the old expression haha!)
  20. The watch and strap came right from Chinese factory by a friend in HKONG who travels there frequently. THe strap is hard to tell if real leather...says so on the inside but sure looks plastic to me. And yet today I was in Osaka and a small watch store had the Moratellos for $50 and up...I stared closely at them and they looked almost unreal...like waxy? Or maybe I just never have seen those expensive leather straps before?????
  21. ordered the orange strap (faux leather?) ...a bit loud so took it off and installed a black Maratac Milspec....
  22. I'm totally happy with my 42mm PO black bezel, sourced from China by a friend in HKong. The only flaw was a bracelet pin broken, but he has that fixed by now. Yes, chinese movement and HE valve at the 10 spot, but time keeping is quite accurate. Have it on a Maratac Milspec meanwhile and love it! I have the orange bezel version too, but his black bezel seems just a bit more seductive. Had the orange strap with the orange bezel version but turned out too loud! haha!
  23. My friend in HKong visited me here in Japan and brought back my request for the 42mmPO. Posted here, guys said it was either 3rd or 4th verson....whatever....it is a great watch, keeps great time and feels great on the wrist. He lives in Kowloon and went to the mainland area where the watch factories are, scouted mine out there. The HE valve is at the 10 position and the bracelet had the faulty pin (which he is returning it soon for repair). So the 42mms are still around, but maybe hard to find.
