  1. Why isn't there any new reps of this one?

    178048-7937.jpg

Russians  have rep'd this watch for about 20 years ago but those reps were quite bad.

The gen have been produced since the 30's by the germans, russians, french and now the swiss.

It also have a 7750 movement which should be easy to reproduce.

Love this watch but it's a little bit too small. Thought it's 40 mm, if this was a 44mm then it was a killer for me

  2. You can see the allignment of a marker on a persons wrist while passing????

Then you should be called eagle eye.

I`m already glad if i can make out the brand and the model.

I think a lot of the people are used to blown up pics and magnifying glass to see the flaws and forget thats not how other people see them.

LOL :D No not when they are passing, but for example when they are sitting in front of me in the metro, train or next to me at the restaurant, bar etc. Don't want to offend the rollie fans but a lot of rolex owners really like to show off their watch in public

  3. True that everyone has their own particular set of can't-live-with errors,... and it seems that

the more you read here, the more you will discover to add to your list,...

It's enough to drive you crazy if you don't pick a set that you can live with..and also be

able to make the distinction between flaws and QC problems...

With me is flaws, i.e. differences from genuine are not my main concern, unless they are

    glaring,..

QC is, however,.. but only those which I cannot personally correct..which are mostly related

to my number one Hate...Mis-Aligned Markers....To me the obvious tell tale of a fake...

Seems Most watches which have glued on markers especially Rolex,.. 99% are mis-placed

too high, low, right, left of just plain crooked,..and going with dealers who hand inspect has not

reduced the problem,... I chalk it up to dealer stigmatism...

One good point however is when I show my watches to friends,.... many don't notice the alignment

problems... which makes it for a while at least,..bearable, until I take that closer look....

Maybe it's just not wise to focus too clearly... :g:

So true, first thing i look when i see a rollie sub on a wrist in the wild is the alignement of markers, then datewheel/mag, then crown/crownguard.

A lot of reps have misplaced markers, for me it's also the nr.1 giveaway of a fake.

It's almost the 6 marker all the time, what is the problem to place the 6 marker because rep factories almost align it wrong all the time ?

  4. Why buy a rep? Buy a gen. Do not take the risk to be robbed or handchopped because of your (fake) watch.

For around 100 Euro on the bay you have the monster. Great watch and it is genuine.

I bought a black one, put it on a NATO strap and felt like Indiana Jones in the jungles, mountains, seas, cities, islands of Thailand and Laos.

Best lume you will ever see, waterproof 200 Meter, very reliable automatic movement, all you need on your trip and above all it looks great and very "i'm the new indiana Jones". During one month 4 people spoke to me because of the watch, they all liked it very much.

Pics? Here are a few from Pugwash: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=17083

  5. And No I dont dropship or involve myself in any aspect of it.

    :yeah:

    .

Hi, Narikaa, you are a different dealer, not only in service and quality control but also in variety of watches you are selling. Most watches I want are not on your list. Maybe I have to ask for it first.

Have you tried changing straps on that 212 yet? Bet the lug screws are stripped because there's virtually no thread on them. Add that to your list of problems.

I am very lucky with my 212. I have changed straps many times on it. At this moment the 212 has a BOB Marino antic brown strap. Strange thing is that I know the crownguard is very wrong for the first generation, but i like the "wrong" crownguard more than the correct one. :whistling: Because of the lack of saphire I wear the 212 only on occasions I know for sure that it won't scratch.

You are not alone my friend! Not in the least! All fairly minor problems and notice one thing - never have I complained about the movements. All of them work fine, keep great time, and are pleasures to wear. You have to accept these tiny faults for the benefit of the greater whole. Look at it this way, 99.99% of the watch is perfect except for one tiny tiny inconvenience only you can notice under close and lengthy scrutiny (gazing into your watch for hours upon hours while on the toilet).

Yeah the movements are great! From the 9 watches there are just 2 I do not wear, the Rollie Sub and the (just received) Omega X-33. I enjoy all other watches and some imperfects i just discovered after a few days/weeks. So I guess it is just me and my nitpicking perfectionist behaviour. BTW LOL, you are right i'm often looking to my watch when i'm on the toillet

  6. Quite some bad luck you had.

Eddie lee does drop ship by the way.

    Precioustime doesn`t. Narikaa doesn`t

Is it possible to show us some pics of your misfortune?

Thanks for the quick reply Peter. I always thought Eddie Lee was no dropshipper because of his higher prices. So I was wrong. I already posted a lot of pics of my watches in the "wristcheck" posts but on the pics you can hardly see the imperfects because i try to hide the imperfects when i make a picture ^_^

    TTK doesn't drop ship :)

I already said that in my post, but thanks for the quick reply! :D

    Hi all

    What is "Dropskipping"?

    best

    evgyrt

I wish it was dropskipping :D Dropshipping is that the dealers do not have the watches in stock at home. They do not even see the watch they will send you. They send your order to the factory. The factory, with no qualitycontrol, picks out a watch from a big stash ,which has I guess 70% imperfects because of the lack of qualitycontrol. The factory don't even look if the watch is broke or have other imperfections, they just wrap it in plastic and send it to you.

It means that the dealers drop the watches on the floor several times before they send them out (lots of crooked dial markers because of that).

LOL :D By-tor, I really enjoy and appreciated all your reviews, posts and pics on the forum. You are really a diamond for the community! Thanks!

I think it all depends on your own standards... My Omega SMP Chrono which came from TTK ('cherrypicked') had a chipped pearl, slipping stem, scratches on the lugs and a bad clasp spring.

The moral of the story?... no need to pay extra $ for the cherry picking IMO!!!

It's a role of the dice..... dropshipped, cherrypicked.. it's all the same, you just need a little luck!

Hmm so there is actually no cherrypicking? Maybe i'm indeed a little bit a frigging perfectionist. Just can't help it. Always looking for imperfections, you should have seen my ex-girlfriends :D I even earn my money because i'm a perfectionist. If i do not do my job perfect, planes will fell out of the sky :Jumpy: Maybe i have to lower my standards for rep watches. Thanks for the reply. :)

  7. Hi all, Happy New Year!

In 2006 I bought 9 replica's from 4 dealers here on the board. I'm very glad i have found this forum with al that knowledge and access to the best replica's in the world, although:

1st watch: Omega Planet Ocean 4th generation ETA: Bracelet had a lot of scratches and the six hour marker is not alligned and a little bit croocked. I fixed the bracelet with a kitchen pad, cape cod and sandpaper, it's perfect again but i still have the misalligned six marker.

2nd watch: Panerai 212, first generation: this one came in perfect.

3rd watch: Tag Heuer Indy 500 quartz: came in with all chronomarkers not resetting to the correct place. I fixed this in cooperation with the dealer.

4th watch: IWC GST Ti: came in with a little white spot above the 360 on the tachymeter dial Not perfect but this is so small, I can live with this.

5th watch: Asia IWC FA Jones Viagra: The blue minutehand is chipped. I found out 95% of the Viagra blue has this problem, have to live with it.

6th watch: Rolex Submariner with Swiss ETA: the six marker is bad alligned on the dial and the rolex crown on the clasp is not printed well.

7th watch: Panerai 187: came in perfect, but next day 2 markers from the bezel fell off. I was lucky i found the 2 markers, now i am waiting for the gorilla glue to glue this back.

8th watch: Omega Ultimate Planet Ocean 45.5 Swiss ETA: I asked the dealer if he was able to send me a perfect one. I asked can you please take extra care of misalligned bezel and markers on the dial. Dealer wrote back that he will take extra care of that. I received the watch with a misalligned 6 marker on the dial.

9th watch: Omega Speedmaster X-33 quartz: I received the watch with a total misalligned omega logo on the dial. This one screams fake. I'm not gonna wear this one.

4 dealers, 9 watches, just one watch that came in perfect. Maybe i'm too lazy or anxious to send the watches immediately back. Maybe I had to complain. I know if you want perfect buy the gen. But... I made up my mind. No dropshipping anymore for me in 2007. I want the cherrypicked ones. I will pay extra for that service you will have for that perfect one.

I know Eddie Lee and TTK are no dropshippers but do you people other dealers here on the board that do NOT dropship?

  8. 2) $450 for an Asian 7750 based watch is a lot. Based on prices we are used to seeing it is quite a bit more and that has freaked some people out.

US dollar is weak at the moment. Think that's also a reason to make this watch more expensive in dollars. Never been so happy with the euro as nowadays, SS HBB = 413.00 USD = 315.229 EUR at xe.com at the moment. :)

  9. Hi there watchsmiths,

Tonight the nr. 3 fell of my PAM 187 bezel. I already heard this was a big problem and now i'm having this also. :wounded1: Lucky enough I found the 3 again and want to glue it to the watch again. I used the search function but that only brought me to glue for rolex bezels or crystals. Does one of you experts know what glue i have to buy to put the marker back on? Thanks in advance.

  10. Mechanical watch, mechanical sounds.

This thread smells like the OP is scared to death something is going to give away his precious fake to the ignorant peanut gallery. "OMG, my replica is whirrrring, the girl I'm trying to impress is going to notice!!!"

Relax man and enjoy the watch, don't abuse the illusion! :)

My girl knows a few of my watches are a rep. She's wearing a rep PAM too :)

Believe me, I really enjoy my automatic watches. It's really only the PAM 187 that is a bit too noisy for me. But, I am not the only one who thinks the wrrrrrr sound of a rep or gen 7750 movement sounds kind of cheap and there is a fix! See http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=17871

  11. after i read the post about the 7750 rotor noise i figured i'd share my secret :D every 7750 i have the bearing is noisy noisy noisy gen or rep especially asian models. the simple cure is use a high temperature axle grease a tiny dab packed in the bearing makes it completely silent and winds just the same. i've done this for years and the grease always has stayed put and never leaked out into the movements. just be sure to use high tempereture grease and only a tiny bit untill it's silent. i can't see any reason it can cause harm as long as it stays put. the rotor is so heavy on these it makes no difference in rotating with the grease just not audible anymore and won't "freewheel" at 50,000 rpms like before and start vibrating the watch on your wrist:P

try it......you will not be dissapionted :bounce:

Thanks a lot for this information! I'm gonna try this on my "louder than a bomb" PAM 187. :)

  12. I've been shopping for a better strap for my pam reps and was looking into Bob's Vertigo collection as they are highly recommended here when I stumbled upon thew new Marino line.

    http://www.waccex.de/catalog/product_info....products_id=601

I got my black w/ white stiching in the mail last night and I can now see what everyone is talking about. This is a very nice strap, very pliable and soft in it's currently unworn state.

I have received the BOB Marino antic brown this week and I love it! Looks very good on my PAM 212!

  13. Want a quiet watch, buy a quartz!

I have 4 quartz watches, I hear the ones which has secondhands too! -_-

I do not need a complete silent watch but I think the ones with asian 7750 just make a cheap sound.

You don't need to lay your ear next to it, you hear it already when you just move your wrist in a silent room.

But OK, i like a lot of watches with the 7750 movement and keep buying them, just have to live with it. Wrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr :Jumpy:

  14. If you get one that doesn't make noise, that would be a dead give away!! :)

Ok, but not all the gens has (modified) swiss 7750 as movements. I'm not a specialist in movements but if you have for example an rep PO chrono or IWC GST with the wrrrrrrrrrrr than to me that's a dead giveaway. I would not hand over that watch to a salesman from an AD or other expert.

Ok, so the Swiss 7750 does also wrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr? Hmmmm think I have to deal with that wrrrrrrrrrr in my life because i love the watches :) Wrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. :bounce:

  15. Last monday i've received the PAM 187 from Joshua. Nice rep, really like it, everything OK but... that Wrrrrr sound of the movement, when you move your wrist in a certain way, kind of irritates me.

This is my 3rd rep with the Asian 7750 movement. PAM212, IWC GST Ti and now also PAM 187 they all have this Wrrrrrr sound of the rotor. PAM 187 is the worst, the Wrrrrr sound is really loud.

Isn't this a big giveaway? I have never had the genuine watches on my wrist but I think that the wrrrrr sound is not hearable on a gen. I am I right? Last night I handed my PAM 187 over to a friend of mine, first thing he said was "what's that noise, is it defect"?

Does the Swiss 7750 also make so much wrrrrr noise, or is it just an Asian "flaw"?

  16. I was in MBK shoppingmall 2 weeks ago. The whole 3rd floor is kind of a replica floor. Not only watches but also jeans, polo's, shoes, bags etc. Most watches you see are not the high-end replicas we are used to, but... at some watch"shops" if you ask for Swiss ETA replicas they show you a few. You really have to ask for it because they are not displayed. Some also have high-end Asian replicas with the asian 7750 movement. For example i saw the IWC GST Ti a few times.

You can get to MBK by taking the BTS Skytrain, Silom Line, station: National Stadium, but you can also take the Sukhumvit line, station Siam, visit the Siam Paragon and Siam Centre shoppingmalls and walk to the MBK. They are kind of connected to eachother.

Enjoy your time in Thailand, wish I could back there soon, loved it! :victory:
