  1. Just an update: I found G over at the RWI site and am sending it for a full service & repair.
  2. Greetings everyone! Been a lurker here for a while, but this is my first post, I think. Got a great looking Pam243 (A7750) that worked well for a couple months, then stopped. I opened it up to find the balance spring had SPRUNG.... Sticking out from the balance wheel module. I'm looking for advice on whether I should repair, swap movement, or replace it. I live in Northern Louisiana and could ship it to Dallas or Houston for repair if necessary. There is a local independent shop I'd like to take it to who have serviced my Gens before, but don't know if they would touch my rep. and just not sure how to approach it. Any help or advice is much appreciated!
  3. Looks like the economy is giving this collection a big price hit. Here's a link to an article from 2007 where set 33 of 40 sold for over 312,000... http://antiquesandthearts.com/Antiques/Auc...__09-35-40.html
  4. It might be, one never knows, but I doubt it was his own plane. It appears the picture was taken from a Cessna Caravan,(just like the ones on the ground in the pic), quite a common plane for island hopping. Pic is taken from the right seat (co-pilot), and that plane doesn't require a co-pilot. BTW, a decent pre-owned Cessna Caravan will cost in the neighborhood of 1.2 - 2 million. (That's more than Dr. Evil asked for when holding the world hostage )
  5. WOW! Great Post. OK, I'm jealous too.... Cool Pics!!! Looks like St. Barts. How was the weather? He may be a pilot, but I seriously doubt he was piloting that plane and taking pictures. That landing requires 100% full-on attention. I love the caribbean too. I'm counting down the days until my trip to Tortola. So, I've never been much of a Panerai fan, but they are really starting to grow on me.... Especially with teaser shots from the islands.
  6. WOW! Finally a UPOC! I forsee my bank balance a little lower soon.
  7. Look in the upper right corner when browsing, there is a banner that with the discount code. Currently the code is USD20 , just enter it a checkout. The watch I received is not 45mm. The case is only about 42.5mm, however they are probably calling it 45 including the crown when measuring. I have a small wrist and this watch is about as big as I can pull off without it looking huge. I am really pleased with the watch especially for the price. My gen Omega SMPchrono hasn't seen the light of day since this one arrived. I also wasn't so sure about the orange bezel, but I really like it, and am glad I got that one over the black. I'll try to post some pics soon. Also you should know on the quartz chrono, the subdials operate differently than on the face: running seconds are at the 6, 24 hr pointer at the 3, and stopwatch minutes at the 9. That's the standard Miyota 0S20 movement. Let us know what and who you go with to get yours....
  8. Yep, you're right! I didn't see it at first. It is still a very nice looking rep, but I am waiting out a 42mm UPO (or at least 4th gen) to show up again. It may never be made again, then something like this will have to do.
  9. I've been curious about the same thing.... What about Watcheden? Here is a post from another forum with pics about the model they have. Looks like it may come from the same factory? Does anyone know? http://www.replica-watch.info/phpBB3/viewt...f=6&t=49824
  10. I just purchased one from Watchmark, and it looks great! AR, 0S20 Quartz movement, good bracelet, bezel, pearl, etc. It was $118 after the $20 discount. Fast shipping, it came to my door 7 days after order was placed! It is only 42.5mm. http://www.timeshops.net/OM4939_-_OMEGA_Pl...ph_1875-774.htm
  11. Greetings, Noob here. I thought this my be a great place for my 1st post. I've enjoyed reading everyones occupation descriptions. As for me, I'm and EMS Rescue Helicopter Pilot, and success is defined at the end of each flight when we all come back in one piece. I hope remain successful as I have a ways to go before retirement. I abosolutely love my job, but am by no means a workaholic. At any given moment, I'd rather be relaxing on or near the beach with my wife and a bountiful choice of adult beverages. On the the watch front - I own a couple gen Omegas, Tags and other brands. I have been interested in reps for several years, however I have only purchased some recently due to the improvements in quality and accessibility. I got mine from Watchmark, and was impressed with the watches and super-fast service. Now, I want more! It seems to be a kind of disease here....
