  1. Years ago, I moved in with a brand new girlfriend and another couple as well.... I never did it again, it was a total nightmare and an extremely long (way too long for here, I could write a book, and probably should!)and adventurous story :black_eye:

But that was then and us, and this is you and now.

    Make your path :victory:

  2. i'm in as soon ass\ it comes to Oz :thumbsupsmileyanim: :thumbsupsmileyanim: :thumbsupsmileyanim:

I like the 5mp camera with flash and the front camera will be interesting maybe (wish I wasn't so damn fugly)

The new design looks great and it will be nice to have a thin phone again!!

  3. It is something that I have mentioned in the Admin area but please understand there are probably 20 other more important things the boss has to fix before he looks at this.

    Ken

Thanx KB!!! Yes, just a small issue in the much bigger picture :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  4. Thanks guys... My thoughts as well on the newer dial.

I will have a look at a hobby shop somewhere for some matte spray... I hope I don't screw it up :Jumpy:

I will suppose that my watchmaker will know what to do about a backing plate when he's putting it together... Either way, it'll be on my wrist soon :bounce:

  5. OK Guys, I am starting this new topic so it's fresh... Hope some can help...

I am just about to receive the final parts to put together a 203A... The movement and no AR crystal are waiting at the PO...

    I need a few suggestions.

Firstly, for this period watch, which would you use for the dial... The more aged or the less aged looking dial below?

    img3195resize.jpg

    img3196resize.jpg

I'm thinking the newer looking dial, as the case is as new and it may be a better match, but I need some more learned opinions.

Whichever I choose, there would be another dial left... I'm wondering what that would be good for besides a 203A

Second issue I have is the matte finish I hear people talking about.

I have a 201A and the dial does have a vertical 'sheen' to it, and it feels a bit off.... Is this the way the dials actually are, or are they coated/matte finish?

What are you guys using for the matte finishing on the dial?

Third and last question is on the dial backing plate...

How thick should it be, and is it simply glued to the movement/dial?

I have what seems to be a steel backing plate that's 3.56 diameter and .48 thick with a 2.38 diameter hole in the middle (no seconds at 9 hole :(

Is this a backing plate and is it the right thickness to use?

Thanks for any help... Hopefully I will have something together within a week or so :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  7. Thanks guys!! :D

    It's nothing special...;)

    Modded cartel Ti case

    Refinished lug screws

    sapphire crystal no AR

    Refinished Ti CG

    OEM crown

    OEM 061c tobacco dial

    DSN A series hands

    H3 CP flattened and polished

Still waiting for one more part....and debating on whether or not to buy Pete's gen CG but then I start to get into the realm of why didn't I just buy the damn gen.

Really sweet watch there buddy :thumbsupsmileyanim: :thumbsupsmileyanim:

All you need now is some AR on that crystal and it's just as good!!

  8. That aged look on the FGD 203a is beautiful :thumbsupsmileyanim: . Can you tell us where you sourced the PVD case?

Yes... it is really nice... but not sure to use the aged one or the newer looking one (as you can see there are two that could be used in a 203A) in the PVD case I have now :whistling: ... Any suggestions?

  9. Well, thanks to much advice, help, and supply from some top members here, I've amassed a small arsenal of parts to be assembled. Just waiting on a few more key parts to make a couple complete watches.

Special thanks to FGD, OPCrown, The Zigmeister, and DSN for making this at all possible!! :1a::thumbsupsmileyanim:

  10. So they finally fixed that D shaped CG, that's one of the main reasons I sold mine, it just kept bugging me.

By the way, a 7753 is completely wrong for this model. The gen has a Flyback complication movement.

What do you guys mean by D shaped CG? They're all D shaped

  11. Thats a great start D although the case may be a bit harder to track down.

    ;)

    It's on its way :thumbsupsmileyanim:

Keep checking that postbox ......more choice parts heading your way for this baby !!!

    FGD

    Anxiously awaiting that package buddy...

I have a feeling this is going to be a beautiful thing :victory:
