  1. Happy Birthday R0NiN!

  2. Happy Birthday R0NiN!

  3. Now I know you can't technically overwind a watch. But I fully wound my 026k, it ran fine for a bit, and now has suddenly stopped. If I give it a gentle bump it runs for a sec then stops again. Also, if I turn and hold the crown (it's fully wound so only turns a bit), then it runs, if I let go it stops. I just got the watch in July from Andrew, so I'm a bit surprised its already doing this, however, my guess is it needs servicing, just wanted to see if everyone agrees or if there is something I'm missing... Thanks!
  4. Thanks y'all...great points...definitely changes my perspective..this is why I love RWG!
  5. I appreciate that time is money and these are complicated movements, however, these are not "expensive" watches and I would expect that if a brand new movement costs less than servicing, then the time to service one is not equal to the time and materials of creating and assembling a new movement, even assembly line work, thus my point about expense. Regardless, once serviced how long should you expect before needing services again? The Breitling is obviously the more complicated movement, the Cartier is just a basic roadster so should just be a simple automatic movement I would think. Who are the trusted watch service people on the forums? I was unable to locate anything about that. Thanks for the input
  6. So my Breitling Navitimer rep is having issues and the movement is obviously in need of service. My Cartier rep is having similar issues (they both wind but tend to just stop even when worn continuously, like the gears are sticking or something). Now I've heard tell that getting an automatic movement like these serviced runs around $200 a watch which seems totally absurd to me since I could practically buy two new ones for $400. Is there some alternative place to get them serviced or is there someone on the forums who offers servicing at a more reasonable rate? I did a search and came up with a few mentions of people who did it themselves, that sort of thing, but I wouldn't trust myself to do that. Any help is appreciated. Cheers!
  7. It's the H Factory v2, so DLC, definitely has the "pencil lead" color everyone talks about, the buckle with the strap is also DLC, although it's slightly darker.
  8. Yesterday I got my first PAM rep, a gorgeous V2 026K. Thanks to Andrew at Trusty Time for the smooth transaction, he was awesome! I'm not a great photographer but here's a shot of the watch and a wristy. I switched out the rubber strap for a Louise Tan Strap by Kain Heritage....
  9. So I searched the forums to see if there was a discussion on this and I couldn't find anything. So I thought I'd start the thread. A stainless steel watch with a stainless band is a classic mens style element, it goes with everything from suits to jeans. So with that in mind, what is your favorite (or the one you think is the best) stainless watch that you can wear every day with all looks (i.e. the Rolex Datejust). Cheers!
  10. First, this belongs in the Breitling section, second, read the reviews by Andreww in the Breitling section and you will find the dealers all carry the same navitimer. For best price and service my choice would be Mary (watch-international)
  11. Just thought I'd toss in an interesting update. I just read in the July 2010 Popular Science that this watch is no longer a concept and will be out in December for a measly $10,900, a lot less than a new M3! So if you like it, pick up the rep people, just maybe wait to wear it until January
  12. Ya, this is the cops, I'm going to have to confiscate those reps...c'mon, take everything off...
  13. With a rep that costs that much why don't they make it more accurate, is a tourbillon mov't in gen different than what's available as a rep and therefore they can't make it the same? I ask because I have yet to see an actual Tourbillon rep that is fairly accurate to a gen...
  14. Ok, I dunno if anyone has posted this before but if so..oh well...it's worth seeing again (imo)! Spyker autos don't get much recognition here in North America, they are very niche cars, I don't know about other continents but here most people have never heard of them. This year Spyker acquired Saab from GM so hopefully their brand recognition will grow. But I digress. Apparently awhile back Spyker joined with Chronoswiss to make some watches but they weren't very successful. However, this year, just released at 24hr Les Mans, they got together with Expression d
  15. I would probably agree with most everyone, I don't want to 'exit' ever, there are too many watches to drool over. But if I had to pick my grails, at least atm, they would be a Pre-V PAM 009 and this Uploaded with ImageShack.us DeWitt R
