  1. Really Rolexes have that wicked date font?!? Out of joke: nice piece!
  2. These folks from RWI are quite entertaining, IMHO
  3. Luminor Marina Militare titanium + brown dial are only 036 (left-handed, 44 mm) and 217 (right handed, 47 mm). So I think that you and Linder are correct and you are in the hunt for a 036. I'm afraid a spare brown dial for that model can hardly be found...
  4. Hi and welcome to post. Some pics would help us to be able in helping you. In the meanwhile, when a clasp does not show buttons, then pulling on one of the links that are just upon the clasp usually makes the trick (often it is the link nearest to your thumb). If the links look as there is no way to grasp them, then grasp them by their sides. Try on each link and see what happens. With apologies for my english.
  5. Actual sources for crowns for auto movements (caliber 90) are palpatine and Davidsen. 7750 stems should be available from parts sellers like Ofrei (unsure though).
  6. Finepics just took his 7753 project to happy end, and I suppose he's reassembling a bunch of watches now... We can think that 2893 and 2892A2 datewheels are not far from here.
  7. Enough at least. The PR and 24hrs hands seem placed alike, but the screws are placed differently. Do you think this is not a giveout in order to fit the PR module on the movement? Yes, the DG 2803, DG 2812 and DG 2813 are identical to my movement (unable to tell which one precisely as I am not able to distinguish the size). They all are copies of the Miyota 82xx movements, that are known as usually accettable about precision and durability, both in the genuine and chinese versions. Let's hope that Silix' 027 has the same movement (very likely) and PR module (maybe) than TTK's model... Congrats Joe, good work! Pls let us know what you will find.
  8. Sorry Joe, this would be a little over my specs on the matter... No doubt it is the DG-3886! Great find! How the heck did you find it?!? About those +/-60secs per day, I suppose it is just a matter of luck... my TTK piece proved precise beyond expectations... and +/-60 is not so bad after all
  9. Same here. Exactly the same here.
  10. Now I got a little confused... OP XII is a Valjoux 7753 with date at 4 and date quickset pusher at 11... never used on 027 (A-B-C) and 028 (A-B ), that only got ETA 2892 + SOPROD 9040 PR module. Even D+ PR models (090, 093, 123, 124, 171...) had OP IX, not OP XII which is of chrono models only: 162, 187, 188, 236, 250, 251. I would say that OP XII has nothing to do with PR models...
  11. Speak just for you. The quest of several members in this thread is for having fun in rep modding -- and maybe a little of watch understanding. If you don't like this thread and you have no contribution to offer, simply go elsewhere. And, btw, who cares what your quest is -- or that you play poker?
  12. By request -- pics of TTK's 'PVD' 027 movement: BACK: FRONT:
  13. I have a wrist small enough to wear small sized straps and to remove 4 links from standard sized bracelets, still 44 mm PAMs fit ok on it. So don't worry about that size. I did not yet had the nerve to try a 47 mm, though. The asian auto 21j movement is a reliable and versatile (and economic) movement. Concerns have been essentially on some asian 7750 models.
  14. A nightmare. Anyway, another piece for my Worst PAM Ever pics collection.
  15. It seems too shiny for a real PVD. I would say black-oxided.
  16. Joe, Slay may be bad-mannered at times... try not to take offense from him, that was probably just his way to give you a warning. Personally, I find this watch not bad at all. It is similar to the Japan version that is selling at $180, but this has a better CG and a worse date mag. I just wonder wheter it is $50 better than Silix' model -- but yes, it could prove a good middle-of-the-way. Wow, right now I spotted a 104 similar to Josh's asian 104 but with a consistent caseback! I beg you pardon, need to check now...
  17. 30 to 80 USD for me.
  18. Yes, it seems that EU is becoming more and more paranoical each day. I can't wait the day that chinese people will make us a colony of them.
  19. Welcome, RadioHead. I never read about pocketwatches here, sorry. Best wishes on your purpose to get to know everyone... even if I suspect it will prove quite hard a task, as there are 3000+ registered members here
  20. Welcome to hambone, new Panerai-damned fellow
  21. Thanks, it is clear now. I strongly doubt that asian PR module would fit ETA 2892, as it is made for our old-and-beloved Asian 21j auto, which is a clone of Miyota 82xx, a very different movement from ETA 2892. I suggest you take care of your 2892A2. According with The Zigmeister, it is the best movement you can get. It is well worth the expense, tell it to your wife .
  22. If I correctly understand, you are asking about to transform an ETA 2892 in an ETA 2892-A2 by adding an asian PR module rather than an ETA PR module? If so, may ask you two questions in return: 1 - Is ETA 2892 without a PR module so much cheaper than with PR module? 2 - Why adventuring yourself in such a task if you already are the owner of a complete ETA 2892-A2?
  23. I know how much time-consuming these things are, Tommy, thanks for your time. So, I also suppose that PVD crowns are not too far from the horizon, are they?
  24. Personally I find this watch silly, something like going scuba diving with a smoking suit.
  25. About their PAM 027 model, and judging just on the picture: compared to Silix's, their watch seems to have a better date mag and lume, a worst crown and CG. The shape and color of the markers seem like those of Josh's asian 104, as the factory that made the dial was the same. And I have to say that the lume of Josh's 104 is the better out-of-the-box lume I ever saw on a rep (after Davidsen's, naturally). But even if date mag and lume really are as displayed in the picture, I doubt they are worth the 99 USD difference in price with Silix... ...well, placed a bookmark anyway...
