  1. would it work for a sandwich dial then?

The spray will work, as long as you will use it in accordance with the suggestions I gave in that thread.

I am still wearing a 203 relumed that way and I am satisfied. But I also had to replace the hands as the increased dial thickness made the small second hand fall off.

The powder may work, but you have to crunch it to a finer grain and this may alter its glow properties.

Superluminova is provided by rcTritec, Swiss.

Elisabeth is a nice lady to deal with.

  2. I used WU to buy my first rep, from a scam site. The watch costed 120 USD, and I ended up by paying about 35$ more to WU.

That came from WU direct fees, plus currency exchanges -- that WU applied quite liberally (to their own benefit).

I would rather quit buying items on the net (or elsewhere) than pay by WU.

  3. Maybe a silly question, but what is the difference between a regular crown guard and a destro version? I have allways thought it was the same just put upside down?

That was true on old models, where the CG lever was placed exactly midway between the upper and downer (?? argh, my English!) surfaces of the crown guard.

But if you look at a more recent crown guard you will see that the lever is now a little shifted to the upper side.

So, should you simply turn the crown guard upside down, the lever would not stay centered on the crown anymore.

  4. But as I said, maybe 2 will be better :)

Member Esmarc once classified the Panerai addiction (that he called 'paneritis') in four stages:

    1 - What is a PAM?

    2 - Wow, a PAM!

3 - Where is my PAM?

4 - Where is my next PAM??!??

It seems as you are now directly jumping from stage 1 to stage 4 -- Congratulations! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  5. Great work!

...even if what we have here is a full-of-resources someone using a full-of-talent-and-skill master to get to an unaccurate watch.

Well, if he likes it, that's all that matters.

But on this occasion I just discovered that genuine AR coating is complete s**t. Nothing but a blue cover with plenty of reflections.

I just made it up with the 'light AR coating'.

  6. A good mechanical, analogic caliper is probably as good as any electronic digital caliper. I just find digital easier to read (I am presbiopic on one eye).

But if you want to go down to tenths and hundredths of mm you will need nothing less than an electronic digital micrometer (not a caliper, even if it's digital).

  7. Somewhat similar models are the 253 and the 212, you might take them in consideration too.

(BTW, and just for the sake of precision in case a newbie reads this: the gen 192 was not titanium but tantalum -- the only titanium part was the caseback).

  8. @ phaedo:

here are my humble suggestions as a PAM addicted and modder that has gone quite a bit along the PAM way.

If you really are in doubt about the white vs black issue, then get a black one. This is the only way to really taste how a PAM feels and looks. If you get a white one you will soon find yourself wondering what if I got a black PAM, and you will spend your money again on another PAM.

Usually, white PAMs are for addicted who already satisfied their PAM thirst and want to try something different.

Else, if you are sure on the white one and your doubts are about ETA vs china only, then get the ETA model. Not because of the movement, but because of the added bits. The thicker crown alone is worth the difference.

And, BTW, welcome to this PAM madness! :thumbsupsmileyanim: I see you are already thinking about straps: that is a clear symptom of addiction.

  9. My 2892-A2 (PR movement) datewheel from Finepics fits perfectly.

I would tell it is flat.

I exchanged several PMs about the DW with Finepics months ago (too bad I deleted them), and I can assure you that he was more than aware of each and any differences between 2893 and 2892-A2 DWs.

I believed to understand that the 2892-A2 DW was flat, while the 2893 DW had recessed teeth. I know nothing about the 2836.

Perhaps there has been some mix-up between DWs when Finepics shipped them?

Or might this problem come from genuine-ETA vs ETA-copy issues?

  10. Anybody share my sentiment that the "Members" Trading Forum kind of sucked anyway?

    No.

I agree - I once went into the trading forum and saw one of those $500 submariners that was "one year old but it had a genuine crown and genuine hologram and genuine hands etc"

    It's so silly......

Joshua is my man - I've never strayed from him; he is a good dealer... I don't have enough trust to do trading with other members.

Narikaa is the only exception. She is A-OK....

Oh, I forgot: Corgi is an exception.
