This is the new line of Vintage Rolex .. it is said to be compatible genuine parts.. The main improvement is in the steel which is supposed to be denser and with more sheen.. a better grade of steel. there are a few issues .. like the MBK.. yes the lug holes seem a fraction too low, the CG needs work as with the MBK's.. the crown needs a genuine... the rep is too big.. as with the MBK's.. the crystal is surprisingly good but the crystal wall is too low as are the MBK's.. The bracelet is an improvement.. it is a bit more "slinky" and lighter than the MBK's .. the holes for the screws have more play in them as the genuine article.. lending for a better molding on the wrist.. the Asian beat movement is better as far as visual tick's in the second hand, we'll see about it's functionality and longevity.. the case back engraving .. IMO is an improvement..the dw is silver with open 6.. For the price of this bag of groceries.. I don't see how you can go wrong.. the steel should of scratched when I was taking off the bracelet.. my ineptitude with the spring bar.. it did not.. if that is an indication of the density of this grade of steel then it passed the test.. Let take a look now at the comparisons.. The Genuine (the new rep is on the right) the xtal wall is much higher than my genuine sits on the MBK.. so a Clarks would actually look better if this is the case.. New Rep... MBK on the right New rep on top MBK below.. Genuine on the right the bezels on both the MBK and the new rep. are polished on the sides.. (the genuine has a brushed finish).. too close to call which is better .. they are both slightly off from the genuine .. at different angles the new rep appears to have more thickness like the genuine.. but it may be just the angles.. a toss up on this one.. Genuine New rep. the CG needs work like the MBK MBK. the CG has been modded New rep Case back.. new rep.. Genuine below,.. I'm not sure on the variations of case backs (the MBK is the same font.. not as deeply engraved and painted black. New rep The dial the MBK on the left has been modded and relumed.. but notice the reflection from the steel on the new rep on the right..it's lighting up the background.. New rep The rep crystal is pretty good in that it takes on the illusion of the genuine ..imo but I will be swapping it for a Clarks.. with the higher wall.. the Asian low beat Movement edit: the movement is an Asian clone not a low beat.. however it is "jerky" at the seconds..fyi I will continue tomorrow with the dial and bracelet, I will have macros of the font and the genuine as comparison .. the bracelet is very, very well done.. My main focus was on the steel and case.. For the "price" it has promise.. although if you want more,..... modding is an option ..like the MBK.. with it's issues the New rep. is a great buy .. IMO.. you can't debate 198 usd.. for what you get .. imo.. it is value added..for your collection thanks for viewing and tomorrow I will finish with the rest of the pictorial.. AC Lani

Some don't feel the need for etiquite.. on the net.. "Our" community is not like this .. imo.. the members that call this their watch "Home" give much more than take.. .. All our dealers here are "Trustworthy".. it takes 2 to 3 weeks for air mail to arrive in Asia..from Hawaii, where I reside (fyi) thing's slip through the cracks.. the China Holiday just finished and with our hobby (reps) things like these issues do happen.. but be assured it will be resolved by Chris.. I just am receiving a set of straps that was ordered around the beginning of the year.. (no shit) .. but my communication with the maker has been patient.. he had problems with customs.. and never failed me in the past.. so he is comping me another genuine gator strap.. ... the Makers make mistakes .. sometimes arbitrarily .. but not maliciously.. and that falls through the cracks.. but have patience and all will be resolved I'm sure.. ya get more with honey than vinegar at times.. The only thing I can say.. is giving vendors the "benefit of the doubt" will benefit you in the long run.. and our hobby has so many variables with coming from across the globe.. Omni.. the first voyage of the Hokulea was made in the 70's a friend of mine was lucky enough to make the journey.. so Nanoa is not far behind.. but I think he uses the sun and Stars for his time.. poor guy... It appears the way you have the gasket set up on the crystal .. would be correct.. ZM would know for sure..

I doubt the crystal will fit on the rep case with 2 gaskets.. the genuine may employ them.. the rep has one gasket.. it would appear that the gasket needs to be inserted into the case first then the crystal pressed .. after viewing the lip of the case where the crystal is to be inserted .. it would appear to me that this is the way to do it.. placing the gasket on the crystal first would crimp it .. imo ... I wonder if the genuine does in fact come with a back up gasket.. you could simply check with your contact to be sure.. AC Lani

Phong ... the movement is genuine.. gen. crystal... case is a NDT.. dial is repped.. the homeplates are off. but I'm happy with it.. nobody makes the correct dial.. only way is to get the genuine dial.. Phong is pricey though..

IMO.. a dress watch would do with a white dial.. like Carl posted.. rule of thumb for dressier attire especially for suits or tux.... would be a white dial.. AC Lani

That pic was taken shortly before my bout with N1H1.. coming back slowly now.. at the Old World Gym on the Ala Wai a casting director.. wanted to cast me as a "Hit Man"..I told her.. "as long as I don't have any lines"... I don't think there would be enough time in a day for me to get it right in front of a camera.. A friend of mine held the world record for 'free dive' I believe the Ulua he speared (I forget the weight) I would like to say 187lbs. .. but 147 comes to mind too (big ass fish).. regardless he could hold his breathe an extremely long time.. and they weighed the beast 8 hours after the fact.. so a lot of weight was loss.. me.. I'm thinking the cross section is due to the compression of the crystal, the gasket is soft and not like the clarks gaskets which are more rigid.. Regardless.. the member who needs these pics will be applying a genuine gasket and crystal w/the AR'd underside for the mag.. AC L
