  1. Even if the seller had all the original paperwork, box, receipts etc, how can I verify that the watch they passing to me is the gen, that relates to all the paperwork?

In other words where on the watch is the serial no. engraved, is it where the bracelet joins the case and does each Gen have its own unique serial number.

    thanks

You can find 14060M's for around $2500-$3000.

    Dates for around $3000-$3500.

    5513 around $3500-$4000.

    1680's around $4500-$5000.

Tudor Subs are a bit different.

    7928: $2000-$2500

    7016: $2000

    7021: $2500-$3000

    9401: $2000-$2500

    9411: $2200-$3000

    76100: $1500-$2000

    79090: $1500-$2000

    79190: $1200-$2000

    These are more rough estimates.

    If you look that is.

  2. thanks for clarifying that, that must be 'bargain' of the year :D

out of curiosity how much could you have sold your original Rolex DJ for?

and how much are your Black Sub and TT Sub valued if you had to buy or sell them?

Your black sub is modern as it has no lug holes right?

    Cheers

Here's some quick shots of the black one with papers - note crown guards, crown position, dial indices position, dial and bezel fonts, correct "typewriter" font on warranty papers - and the paper has the correct glossy bit and the unfakeable staple holes :D
  3. Can you clarify:

you swapped one Rolex watch for two Rolex watches.

I assume your original watch was entirely Gen, how much did you pay for it originally?

Or was your original watch a 'Franken, ie made up of gen parts?

    Good trade for you! :D

    Why is it buyer beware?

It's a fun story, but a bit risky telling all on a public forum incase Mr. Jeweller cases watch forums. Won't he feel a little cheated? Or is it buyer beware!
  4. did you get your watch or did customs confiscate it?

LOL now that would be a cool watch maybe i would go with the laser instead though.

I will let you know how i get on, should know within the next few days

  5. where can I get this plastic ball from and how much?

Please describe how exactly it is used, not 100% clear how the plastic ball is used.

    thanks

Actually , I think the plastic open ball is my best choice .

No matter what size , no matter which model , I can open most every replica as well .

And the most important reason is , it's very cheap !

Because it's just the toy for the kids !

    Very useful !!

  6. impressive job :1a:

Being new to this hobby and don't want to buy any expensive tools at this early stage of experimentation.

How can I remove the case back on a Rolex, Omega Planet Ocean using normal household DIY tools.

    Thanks for any comments/instructions

Still waiting on any comments about upgrading this watch to a better movement. Anyone have any good franken mod suggestions for this project?

    Thanks!

  7. I read on one of the rep forums that George aka Watchmaker9 does not make/modify watches but is solely a dealer.

If this is the case, why is this factory dealing only exclusively with ONE dealer?

Can someone confirm the veracity of my assumption please.

    Thanks for all 'sensible' comments....

    P_Diddy

Only one factory makes the WM9..........hint....hint! Watch..........................maker............................9!
  8. Does anyone know which factory makes the WM9 rep and why its only available through a selected dealer i.e. Watchmaker9 ?

Has production of WM9 v1 stopped?

On side note whilst acknowledging the VERY high quality of reps from Watchmaker9, his prices are equally very HIGH as well.

    Thanks for your comments/views

The WM9 v1 is only going to be available from another member as WM9 has now produced the v2. Check with BK to see if they are still available through him, or try WM's website ... watchmaker9.tv.
  9. Does using a watch winder prolong the life of an automatic watch movement, i.e. by not needing to re-start the mechanics each time it runs out of power.

a similar analogy would be driving your car continuosly on the motorway for a long journey is better than multiple start and stop short trips in the city.

    comments?

  10. Hi Stephane,

I am new to this and have not developed the 'eye' for spotting difference.

Please can you point out the 'differences' in the photos below, they look similar to me at first glance.

    Thanks

    Have a closer look:

    458$

    149$

    40$

The best one available right now is this one (same as my 350$):

  11. I have read the original review of Noobmariner by ByTor and would like to know the following:

    1) Do all Noobmariners come from the same factory and does the quality of Noobmariner vary from dealer to dealer ?

    2) Which dealer currently sells the 'best' looking Noobmariner?

    3) Does the Noobmariner use an ETA or Asian clone of ETA or something entirely different?

Thanks for your patience and for being so demanding. :1a:

    P_Diddy

Like alligoat said, either a rep-friendly watchmaker or get yourself some tools. Gioarmani has done a tutorial on how to do some basic adjusting (without a timing machine) and it is here:

    http://www.rwg.cc/members/Adjust-Rep-s-Tim...amp;hl=regulate

The Noobmariner (Beginmariner, Nymphomariner) are great bang for the buck and a good piece to start your collection. Wear it and give the watch a couple of days before you judge the aberration of the movement.

  12. Which dealers have got the WM9, preferably in EU and accept Credit Card.

    Thanks

If you're going to pay that much for a sub you might as well get the WM9. This website probably supplies the Noobmariner but for a higher price 'cuz he buys them off chinese websites for around the same price we buy noobs for and then sells them for higher 'cuz he lives in the UK.
  13. Is TTK the only dealer selling the 'original' Noobmariner?

or is the Noobmariner available from other dealers?

    Thanks

Let me see, listed as a scam, high prices. Why even ask when there are so many great dealers here?

But if you must know I happen to have a pic of their shop front.

  14. Hi guys,

I'm new to this forum having had my appetite whetted by an impulse buy of Omega 42mm Ocean Planet.

I already own several gen watches and with impending service/battery changes due, I am curious to learn more about the following:

    1) Any recommended friendly watch repair service, preferably near London who can service rep watches for a 'reasonable price'

    2) My interest in rep has grown considerably since joining this forum and I want to learn more about servicing and repairing rep automatics, would appreciate any useful constructive comments from the board.

Look forward to exchanging thoughts with you....

    Many Thanks
