  1. Hey, man. It's okay... I'd love to believe that my franken Daytonas were worth a bazillion dollars too, but fact of the matter is they're not. They're non-genuine watches.... Fancy replications. That is the key word. Really, if these things were worth so much, I'm sure you'd have no trouble parting with one of your two. You can easily make back your money, build another, and have more than double your investment left in your pocket after all is said and done.
  2. Beautiful!! You have been putting together some real works of art!
  3. I've already said it... Over and over again. But maybe you were too busy watching the artifical values of your watches getting shilled up?
  4. Pretty much what I thought... If these were really pulling in the money you claim, then yours would be gone in an instant, as you could easily build more AND have money in your pocket. Math is pretty simple... $1200 per watch to build and 9x profit... IF they were really selling for what the shill bid auctions were finishing at. Nice try, but I'm not the one trying to puff up the value on these things. I know what mine is worth, and it's what I have into it. Nothing more. I'm not trying to inflate my frankens in some make believe world.
  5. Good things happening to good people! Top notch!!
  6. How about a Patek Nauti? Measures 37mm x 8mm, so it's nice and thin; elegant, yet a bit sporty. It actually wears quite a bit smaller due to the lug to lug measurement (pictured on my 6.80" wrist)- But, styling is a bit unusual. It's one of those watches that you'll probably find repulsive at first, but maybe eventually warm up to (that's my story completely- hated them at first, but now it's one of my favorites in my collection ).
  7. I logged on only to look at the pornographic avatars!
  8. M5Man... Nice choice on the watches!
  9. No worries, you guys... If Ashford sells out and goes belly up (and you're looking for something to spend the cash that's burning a hole in your pocket), you can always buy a V72 frankenstein 6263 on the bay for $12k!
  10. Clearly you didn't understand my post... You've got two of these V72 frankens... If these are fetching the kinds of true, actual premiums claimed, why not put one of yours up to make some profit. Clearly, you'd have enough to build another AND have a fair amount of dosh in your pocket afterwards...
  11. I still say [censored]. Funny how these puffed up, over inflated fantasy prices are on auctions that are by one particular seller (selling average V72 frankens), or the auctions are private. Yet other auctions, from different sellers with comparable frankens sell for $3k. Unless you want to put your money where your mouth is... You have 2 of these in yur collection, right, Tony? Why not make a believer out of me....
  12. Private auction... I bet there's a reason why.
  13. I believe the gen is 12mm even in profile.
  14. 45mm. I have the 1938a crystal installed on my 3646 hommage...
  15. Yes... I believe the Chrono Avenger is only available in Ti. Also, there's a 5mm difference in diameter between the two...
  16. I believe Neil has run into some gold PVD'd watches in his travels. Perhaps he can provide some first hand insight on the matter?
  17. Let's see... How hard is this problem to fix for a person with no experience and no tools? I think you answered your own question there... It's not a difficult fix if you've uncased a movement before and have the right tools. But if you do not, you might want to consider letting someone who is versed in the matter perform this task for you.
  18. Michael, You're a gent, and 1st class all the way! If you find your way back to the Mile High City, another gtg is in order to talk more watches! All the best... R
  19. Great pics! Ziggy's lume work speaks for itself! Fantastic!
  20. An excellent watch for a top notch fellow. A keeper for sure!
