  1. Yeah I am at AVS. Was my second home when I was building my theater.

Cool whats your username over there? Any links to your theater? Yea I spend quite a bit of time over there. And I thought replica collecting was an expensive hobby!

  2. . . . Can't dump so much into my home theater system just yet, at least until I buy a house :p F**kin neighbors  . . .

I know exactly what you're talking about. I've been living at my new townhome for only a couple months and have already had a sound complaint from neighbors. There are these told old ladies that live next to us that claim their pictures fall off their walls when I'm watching movies.

Oh well, once our lease is up and we get a house out here I can really start working on a dedicated theater!

  3. Since reps are illegal, I wouldn't expect anyone to offer to a stranger that their watch is a rep. It's not fair to dog a guy for passing a rep as a gen.

Hmmmm I tell people mine are reps, makes for better conversation about the quality of reps available. It's not illegal to own a rep (at least here in the US) only to sell 'em.

  4. I was working today when a customer came in to browse our showroom. While talking to him I noticed his watch was a Panerai so I said to him, "nice watch, where'd you get it from?" he told me a story about a friend of his that was able to get a good deal on it and gave it to him as a gift. He proudly showed it to me and it was a model I had never seen before. The crown was pretty thin though and it was similar to a daylight but the dial printing clearly said "Luminor Panerai Regetta" on it and I know it wasn't a 168 cause the dial was black and the subdials were like a charcoal color. Also the main seconds hand was sweeping as opposed to the subdial seconds hand. I could be wrong about it but I'm pretty sure it was a rep. I didn't want to press the point as he was a potential client.

I almost asked him if he knew Jetmid but restrained myself!

  5. I participated in the planning and was one of the fortunate few to actually receive one. The Collaboration I is actually a very attractive and reliable watch. It has earned a consistent spot in my rotation of favorites -- alongside my 192, Overseas, PO, and IWC (to give you an idea of some of its competitors for time on my wrist).

Would I prefer that it have an Omega logo instead of the RWG Collaboration I logo? For a while when it became apparent that other purchasers were being stiffed and the other board was melting down, the answer was yes. But now that the new board is seeking to maintain the positive qualities and legacy of the old board, and to provide some compensation to those who were jilted, I am once again able to simply enjoy this timepiece for what it is -- a good, cleanly designed watch.

I completely agree. I was one of the lucky ones to actually receive one and it is one of my favs. It sucks how the whole thing went down and while I know it will probably never happen I for one would participate in a C2 project if for anything to have a collaboration that actually comes out positive in the end.

    Just my .02. B)

  6. Well I'm no rollie expert but looking at the TT blue sub in the 4th picture you can clearly see the etched crown at 6. My understanding is that the crown is darn near impossible to see in the gens without a loupe and at the correct angle. Could be wrong though. Still wouldn't trust 'em due to what is posted above.

  7. Also depending on the watch and your tastes you may want to have it modded/serviced (i.e. if you get one with a 7750 service it IMMEDIATELY!!). As far as modding, I have yet to mod any of my watches but may do so in the future. It's kind of a personal taste thing and also how close to gen you want to get. Best of all enjoy your new toy and before you know it you'll be looking around for your next one!

    Oh yea, welcome! :p
