  1. \ I had told him about the rep a few months earlier when I first got it. Back then he liked it. He was blown away by how good a copy it was...even though as many of you suspected, he did not know the brand. He's clueless. He knows that Tigerr Woods wears a Tag, so he should too. Pathetic guy if you ask me!!!
  2. Yeah, he walked right into it. I was just shocked he would do that to me in public... in front of women!!! Oh well. You can buy watches, but you can't buy class.
  3. Don't know if this one counts, but What about HBB? That all black ceramic one is sick. I don't know when it was released, but I have been drooling over it. Too bad its almost $800 with shipping. Income tax return come on baby, get here soon!!!
  4. OK, this thing is awful. My first rep was not actually 8 months ago, but rather like 15 years ago. This is a Rolex rep I got when I was in NYC when I was 15. I think I paid $30 for it. Check out the band...I think its a fossil band. LOL. ANyway this is just for fun. I guess reps have come a long way, huh. The crown actually won't stay in anymore. LOL>>>
  5. I was at a local pub for happy hour today with a few people from the office. One guy, a real jerk, decided that he was going to show out in front of some women. He decided to call me out for wearing a rep. I mean the guy really tried to make me look like an A$$. I listened to him for a few minutes with a smile on my face. He went on about his Tag, and how people who wore reps were sad and that he worked so hard and saved up to buy his watch the
  6. I hear what all of you are saying. Especially on the PAMS. My oint is that some of us would like the watch to come on decent leather. When I got my VC Patrimony, I almost got mad and sent it back. The strap made the watch look so bad that I was literally repacking it when my girlfriend made me stop and try another strap on it. Good thing too, b/c the watch is great. A super rep IMHO. But the strap on it was worse than the one that came on my 111h. And I would have thought that was impossible. LOL. I just think that individually we're all just a single customer, but collectively as a community we should have a loud voice with these dealers. I mean there's what close to 30k members here. It seems like the dealers would have to listen. Think about how many watches these guys sell b/c of this forum. if every member buys just 3 in a year, thats close to 70,00 watches. I bet it's an even bigger number. Should the dealers not be more accountable to us?
  7. Yep, I just got this one, so I am kind of on a kick with it. By far my favorite watch. I'm kind of a big guy and it fits me really well.
  8. I just got my hands on the specs, and Step-By-Step assembly instructions for the often misunderstood and underappreciated 7750 movement. It seems as though this movement is the topic for many posts on the forum. To service or replace; how to fix the date wheel, chrono not resetting to 12, running seconds where? LOL. There just seems to be a lot of issues with the movement. I understand that it is a cheap, readily available movement and for those reasons it powers a vast number of our automatic chrono reps. I wanted to fix ALL the 7750 issues with one of my reps, so I ordered a new 7753 movement for one of my favorites. I want to fix the sunken date wheel and make the date change pusher at 10 function. Basically I am upgrading the rep. After I drop the new movement in, I'm gonna have a spare 7750. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in me documenting the process of tearing apart, and then, in a separate post, rebuilding the movement. The instructions are pretty straight forward and while I'm sure it will take me a long time to do it, I feel like I can handle it. So I was just wondering if anyone would even check it out if I did it. Let me know. I should have my new 7753 in a week or so, and my tools should be here any day now. Also if anyone would like copies of the instructions and specs for the 7750, PM me and I
  9. I wanted to bring up a fact that bothers me. Due to my particular tastes, most of the reps I buy come with a leather strap. I can't help it; I just don't care for metal ones. I have always felt like a leather strap is dressy, and looks better with a suit that some big chunky metal bracelet. I also think they draw less attention to your wrist, and IMHO we should try to fly under the radar with our reps. I like my watches, and I don't try to fool anyone with them. If asked I tell the truth...it
  10. I'll check them out. Thanks, and thanks for the kind words.
  11. Cool idea to pass the watch around between members. I assume that this has been done before. It would be sad if the watch got nabbed going through customs. Seems like there should always be a watch in circulation. What a good way to get some of the more obscure reps some exposure. Get people to chip in and buy a rep that no one has had the guts to pull the trigger on and pass it around. Its just a thought...I guess that I want someone else to share in the risk of buying a Concord C1. LOL
  12. 26 days...I would have lost my mind. LOL. My stuff fianlly got to me on the 28th. So, it only took2 weeks to get to me during the holidays. All things considered I feel kind of lucky. I have had really inconsistant results with tracking these packages. I had one get to my house and according to EMS it was still in China. You never can tell. I have found that exercise, lots of cardio, helps ease the pain of waiting for a new piece. Congrats on the watch, you've been waiting for a while, give us a wrist shot. A little eye candy for all of us who were waiting with you.LOL. HAppy New YEAR!!!!!!!
  13. Great pics, and wow, these really are classy looking watches. I have been thinking abour IWC for a while now. Your "Family Photos" may have sealed the deal. Thanks for the eye candy!!!!
  14. I just wanted to say that I rarely read a post on this forum without learning something. Thanks guys for some great info and a good topic. Happy New Year!!!!
  15. Sweet watch!! I love the ceramic bezbel on these watches. It really grabs you attention. What about some larger photos? A little eye candy if you please. Happy New Year!!!
  16. Hey, thanks! I will be sure to do that. I am going to get one of the MB Pilot's Chronos or GMT at some point and I'll be sure to get some pics and info on it as soon as I do. Happy New Year!!!
  17. I know what you mean. The photos on my review are with the rep strao that came with the watch, and yeah its horrible. I picked up a brown and black croc strap from the Mont Blanc boutique in Atlanta about a month ago. You could buy a couple of nice reps for what the straps cost.LOL. But man do they make all the difference in the world. I also have the stainless model with the silver dial, and I have the SS rep w/ black dial on SS bracelet. I really love the Timewalker line. I am going to pick up another one, Gold with a black dial and put a gen brown strap on it. I have been noticing a lot of gens in Watch time that are gold w/blk dial on brown straps. Its a great look. What do you think? I think this may be my next Timewalker...hell I am going to end up with one of each model.LOL.
  18. Yeah, I see your point. But again I have to think about my primary arguement FOR reps...Variety. Even though you can pick up a good hammy for about the same as a good rep, the nicer chronos are around 1500 bucks. I can think of 3 really great reps that I could get for that much dough. hats what I love about reps. I now have variety and option whereas in the past I could only have a few nice watches. Which chronos do you have? Are they from the Jazzmaster line? I really like the Jazzmaster chronos. Very good looking watches and they seem to be the perfect size for my wrist. My JM is about 41mm and I'm not sure how thick it is, but it sits well on my wrist. Most of my reps are around the same size. 42mm is a perfect size to me. I can't get into some of these huge wacthes. I ordered a fiddy, the thing is like 47 or 48 mm and it just looks goofy. And I'm not s small guy. My wrist is 8.5 inches and I'm about 6'3". Oh well to each his own.
  19. I have been curious about the tourbillon reps. I can't figure out how they can rep this movement. Does it really work and keep ggod time? It it does then that may be the biggest scam by the Swiss. Most of the Swiss tourby's start at around 100k. I saw this Blancpain video on the Smithsonian channel. The guy is assembling a tourbillon, cool video, then at the end they drop the 150k pricetag on you. Anyway, are these Sea Gull tourby reps any good. I always figured they would break very easily.
  20. Yeah I saw a few reps on WatchEden in that price range, but didn't really care for them. I am waiting for a chrono version. A proper 7750 as you said.
  21. Wow!!! I have always looked at these with fascination. I thought that I was a big enough guy to pull off a watch that size. I have a 8.5 in wrist. I think you wrist shot have sealed the deal. I may pull the trigger on it now. Great looking piece man. Enjoy it! Congrats!!
  22. I'm new to the forum...about 6 or 7 months. I have read a few posts about the Sunken date wheel problem with the 7750 movements. There's a great tuto on the mod and it seems like a real complex one... I mean I didn't even know what the hell a laith was before I read it. LOL. I wanted to now if anyone has done it and how it turned out. I tried to PM the guy who posted the tutorial and couldn't. So I am turning to the community for help. I have several reps that eploy this movement, and for the most part I don't care. But I have one rep that I am going to do some work on. I have found a gen dial, strap, and deployant for the watch and now I want to either drop a 7753 movement into the watch or have this mod done. if anyone else is facing this dilema, search "sunken date wheel mod" and check out the tutorial. Its awesome. A lot of great info. The person who posted it really knows their stuff. I think their username is Francisco. At any rate it was good stuff. Persoanlly I had no idea that so much went into modding these watches. It realy gave me a new found respect for you guys that build these franken watches. I can really see where you could get hooked on building your own reps. I think I may end up going in that direction. Anyway, I am looking forward to hearing what some of you guys with a lot of experience have to say on the matter. I wonder if doing this mod is even cost effective, considering that the rep only cost abot 300 bucks.
