  1. Very nice photos! What camera and lens/objective do you use for macro shots?

Btw fiddy is an awesome watch really,i wish i could wear it but too big for my 6-6,5' inch wrist :(

Thanks, The pic were taken with a Canon 400d, the lens was a Tamron 70-300 Di.

As for objective, I have no idea what that means  sorry, I'm just learning how to use it.

I think they are awesome too, have you thought about a mini fiddy?

You might get away with that.

  2. I've owned them all and the white is the nicest in my humble opinion, Great taste Victoria as usual.

Can't believe I doubted the mighty Pugwash :D

Like others have said if your Steelfish is white, then the strap would work just fine.

I like this rep strap on it, looks pretty good on my seawolf too.

  3. I guess you guys would never believe that the greasy transmission tech where I work wears a gen Omega Seamaster to work every day. He's had it around 8 years or so. I see him wash it off with spray brake cleaner sometimes. Man it is rough but it is a gen. from Kostco. And I should add that I was with him when he bought it.

    Thats unreal :o

Brake cleaner is fun stuff though, Once when my supervisor was ignoring me in the workshop, I sprayed his heals and drew a squiggly line on the ground, moving backwards untill the can was empty (20ft away by now), I then shouted his name, and as he looked on with a puzzled expression,I lit the line of brake cleaner.

    Woooosh......... :o

The look on his face was amazing, he never even moved (well, untill his heels were up on fire anyway)

He even saw the funny side of it after a few hours

Next time he cleans the watch,.......you know what to do ;)

  4. I have one of these, pins in the bracelet, eta. The bezel was a shade of blue too light on mine so I picked up a chrono bezel for it.

I fitted a set of gen hands and forgot to get a second hand

Once the bezel is fitted and the second hand on it should be pretty nice.

This is an old pic, I made a pearl for the old bezel some of you might remember.

  5. The preferred method (at least for me) is to simply lume over the existing lume (or paint).

I don't scrape anything off of anything.

    RG

wow, I'm surprised by that, I thought more lume applied would make it brighter, cheers for the insight The Zigmeister.

I've spent bloody ages in the past carefully scrapping off the old lume.

Everyday is a schoolday around here :D

  6. Wait, what? Your wife is 10 and your daughter is 17?? That doesn't make sense even if it's the other way around. :o:lol:

I'm afraid I was, "Sufficiently refreshed" as I typed that last night.

It should have read, daughters, aged 17 and 10years.

17! , still cant believe it, I'm only bloody 36 too.

Thanks very much for all the advice and tips guys.

  7. Hi guys,

Planning a holiday in Orlando, September/October this year.

Just wondered if anyone had some local knowledge and could advise of things to do and see.

Obviously I will be doing the usual Disney/Warner Bros. stuff but do you know of any gems I would otherwise miss?

I'm going with my wife and my daughter (10& 17) for 3weeks and staying in a villa in Kissimmee.

Probably the last holiday we will have all together for a few years so I want to make it a good one.

Thought about a trip to the Everglades and maybe a trip down to Miami.

Any advice would be warmly received.

    Hyster.

  8. Thanks, I was just thinking it might be screws because the head is certainly shaped like a screw, just very faint, not very noticeable. Do I tap the pins out on this side or on the opposite side?

I'm just off to bed DemonSlayer but you could have a look at By-tor's excellent guide to the Omega Seamaster,

Theres a bit about resizing the bracelet, it will give you a good idea of what you are doing.

Just to repeat, if you are not sure, either ask or take it to a watch booth to be resized.

    Good luck.

  9. The screws on my SMP are so bad that there simply aren't any notches at all

Im not being smart here but are you sure they are not pins?

For the screws, a tight fitting screwdriver makes all the difference, I've even put the bracelet in hot water to expand the metal slightly, sometimes works sometimes not. Don't round off the heads of the screws, stop before you do that and........

If you are really struggling, take them to a watch booth, you know the kind, in shopping centers and the like, just don't take them to an Authorized dealer.
