Nice band too. where did you get it from?
It's an aftermarket jubilee that Joe sold me.

When Joe says "mold" he isn't referring to an actual mold (as in how he made my Brevet crown)...he means that we used this picture as the model that we wanted to emulate.

You're welcome. I love it.
I really like the dial paint used on the hour markers...much more genuine looking now. It doesn't have that 'relumed' 'raised' appearance that is a dead-giveaway of a refinished dial.
He now has my 1680 and 1665 for dial painting in this same manner.

We tried to build the 1675 using my WM 1675 case, but the rehaut was too deep and the bezel was too thick.
The Paul case was thinner, with a shallower (more correct) rehaut and the bezel was thinner (albeit, still way to thick to pass as genuine.)
The CGs required many hours of reviewing and discussing various versions of genuine "pointy" CGs that I found in pics off the internet. We ultimately settled on this shape.
We discussed the magnification issue, on the crystal, and I decided that I wanted to keep the higher-power magnification (just my preference.) I tried on both the rivet bracelet and the jubilee and both my wife and I much prefered the jubilee on this watch.
More close-up pics...

Just for clarification...this is not a genuine 1675.
It is a Paul 1675 (with the "pointy" CG mods and bezel mods) with WM dial, and Michael Young small GMT hand.

Leave it up for about 6 months after Christmas and then we'll....Oh wait...been there....nevermind
You beat me to the punch on that thought. oooh, the good ol' days

Nice explanantion and photos, Ubi.

That's a fantastic tutorial...I almost think I could do this if I had those tools.

I love those CG's and small GMT hand. Nice

Glenn Beck always has some nice looking watches on. Does anyone know what they are?
He did an interview with the Al Sharpton, yesterday, and was wearing a Panerai. I couldn't see the face of the watch so I can't tell which one he had on. He called out Al Sharpton, after he made some of his trademark comments of the 'repressed black man'...Glenn asked him to pull up his sleeves and said 'what is that on your wrist...that's an $18,000 gold Rolex Presidential...' Al responded by saying it was a gift or something. Classic hypocrisy.

ive changed this watch around so many times to get it right its crazy , lol also i didnt like the bezel insert/bezel on the one u see above so i installed a michael young one from classic watch parts on it since this one(much better) , this is the variation i felt looked the best however , especially seeking that very slightly well aged look but well kept
also keep in mind the picture in the book right beside it , that was taken on purpose for comparison as well

Ubi, Has your boiling blood recovered sufficiently enough to get back into this great project watch?
It certainly would be among my favorites. I am looking forward to seeing more pics as it comes along.

This is what you need:
-MBW or WM model
-Michael Young bezel and insert
-Case and dial marker customization
-drill out lug holes
-New Tropic crystal
-
Just be sure that you don't mind devloping a nice callous on your wrist...I hear that the crown digs in due to its' size. It sure is a good looking piece. I wish it had a date function.

XRT, that was a compliment. My friend who is a radiologist is going to make high 6 figures when he is a full partner which is significantly more than I can make in my current job situation as an orthopaedic surgeon.
I knew it was.
Wish I weren't still an indentured servant...just a few more years.
-
Hey, XRT, are you a radiologist? That's the best money to effort ratio of all medical specialties. Or is it rad/onc?
Hey now

i guess i am confused. if was so bad why was he so happy with it when this reveiw was posted? i must have missed something here.
Panerai 153 even initially stated that the watch looks "absolutely identical to several DRSD's that are picture in Skeet and Urul's great reference book..."
I agree with that statement, since I am holding mine in my hand now and looking at the "great reference book".

Not really a "vintage" but an homage WM nonetheless...
