Congrats!! Fantastic posts...top notch

This is the best out-of-the-box TT Sub available...period. I have owned many versions. This one takes the cake.
The pearl (as usual...although this one is one of the better ones I've seen) and crown (a bit too thick)could be improved but I have no other things that grab my attention.
Very nice CGs, dial and bezel color, decent gold plating, and finally the new endlinks (with the plating on the sides...finished well too.)

Thank you gentlemen. I posted some pictures of a different WM red 1680 a while back...that watch is now on the wrist of some US Postal worker. After RBJ did some work on it and sent that one out in the mail it never made its' way out of his local post office. I'm no postal employee, but I almost "went postal."
Fortunately this is an isolated incident, but a painful one.
Now, many months later I finally have a replacement that is even nicer than the first version.

very nice work!
...and great parts

I couldn't agree with you more, Randy.
For those who don't know dlgates...his photo reviews and other contributions only tell part of the story of this generous and kind man. He significantly helped to set the friendly and helpful tone of the "good ol' RWG days"
It is absolutely wonderful to see Dave back on the forum.

RBJ removed the bezel on mine.

It's a good read like this that truly convinces me that my time and money are much better spent with me sticking with seeing patients.
...for those of you with bigger balls than me (and there are a lot of you on the forum), my hats off to you

I know where there was one for sale recently (still should be) in Canada for about $500....
That's a great deal if it is in good shape.
...but it won't fit this case (if you think you can use it on your WM or MBW Bond). The problem is that the current tube is set too far posteriorly, and if you try to drill out a larger hole and re-tap it for the 8mm crown tube you will not be able to reinstall the case-back.

I own a genuine Brevet crown (in fantastic condition too) and will be selling it in the next few months...
(ps. admin- this is not an offer...just a brag)
-
wake up Randy...how could you say such a blasphemous thing...calling this crown a puny 7mm...sheesh
Krusty gets a gold star this AM for being so alert.

I never get tired of looking at that one, B!
The superdome and the insert make this watch watch pop...thank you!!!
...now it just needs a new crown and tube and adatewheel inlay (for ETA) and I'm done with it.
-
Thank you. This Tropic looks much better than what was initially placed on it. It has a decent distortion.
-
Also a great watch...
Man, i think we have the same taste in watches...
It`s a beauty...
Rg tribal
Thank you. I think we do too.

SO the custom brevet crown was for you...
after that, you may get a gen movement as well, and you´ll suddenly have a retirement plan in your wrist.
No one said that recreating this watch would be cheap.

Michael Young, isn´t him the hong kong watchmaster?
I think he was running a site called restoration.it.go
nice and rare watch.
Michael's site is www.classicwatchparts.com
I don't know about the site you mentioned.

Very nice. Whose LV is this you modded, and where did you get the black bezel insert? Besides strap, what else did you modify?
Thank you.
It's a WM case, King dial, genuine insert (Ebay), CG mods, and polished inner case ring.

Beautiful

You look like you're going to beat me to the punch, you dawg!
Now, where did you find that bezel?
Now, I'm getting excited again...
-
Kruzer00- I hope you find that movement at a good price...I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Sounds like the prices of them are going up since people are starting to buy them for project watches.

That is one fantastic piece...nice job (crystal and all)!!!

***EXCELLENT*** !!!!!!!!!!!!
Nanuq, I have you to thank...as it was you who pointed out that the bezel assembly was not accurate on the rep (on both the Bond and MG). Fortunately for me, Michael Young's reproduction parts fit perfectly.
...here are some pics of the watch before Nanuq's inspiring comments:
(since the time of the pictures posted below, RBJ has repainted the dial markers that WM had initially vintagized, the arrow on the second hand is now painted red, the crystal was replaced, and the bezel assembly/insert was replaced)
