  1. Having the dial replaced is not a difficult task. It would take about ten minutes at any competent watch smith's shop.. I have such a guy just down the street from me, I had to do a movement swap on one of my watches just recently (a franck muller crazy hours watch) and he did the swap (which involves pulling the hands off and replacing them) , lubricated the keyless works and checked for water resistance for $10 Canadian. It took him about 20 minutes because we fiddled around with the winding crown on the new movement making it flush with the case. Don't worry about it, just get the parts and dive in at a watchsmith.. it's fun to see the inside of your watch -Kaneda
  2. Hehe, I'm surprised that this thread has remained the most popular all day long.. At least you make interesting posts Joshua.. and btw, that's going to get confusing for all the newbies looking for Josh Nana.. hehe -Kaneda
  3. Hi there guys, my friend is heading off to HK in a few weeks and he will be popping over into Shenzhen on a day visa. He's been over there before rep buying but hasn't really found anything better than your typical 100RMB asian auto rep.. I was wondering if you guys knew of particular markets or watch malls that I could direct him to that have the kind of quality reps that we are used to.. Panerai reps especially.. Any help is greatly appreciated Thanks in advance guys, -Kaneda
  4. By the way, the rotor on the movement says 'Officine Rolex Firenze' that may be a small tell.. heh.. http://perfect-clones.com/images/1/410/7.jpg
  5. Well, let's see.. Watches seem to be popular lotto items in general. Watches with boxes + papers even moreso.. On my wishlist would be a white dial / black hands explorer II Then some chrono 47mm pam.. Then pam straps 26/26 of course (and really thick..) and perhaps another 10 watch box.. because my current one is overflowing.. Just some ideas.. -Kaneda

    Mbw

If I'm not mistaken MBW stands for Maria's Best Watch Similar to TB or TWB for Taiwan's Best... From what I've read it applies to heavily modified vintage replicas that use alot of genuine parts or will accept genuine parts.. Let the corrections begin... -Kaneda
  7. Woohoo, I won five tickets in the next lottery (which I hope happens soon... admin any comments?) How do I go about procuring these tickets or am I automagically entered for the winnings? -Kaneda
  8. I bet the 65 or so people that opened this up and read it were hoping for a picture of the advert.. Ah well... -Kaneda
  9. I'm in for two.. again Let's hope I'm more lucky this time.. hehe, I had to go out and buy tools last time.. -Kaneda
  10. I think that I'll leave strap changes until they're absolutely nescessary... The rep strap that it came with is actually pretty nice soft leather.. I'm impressed.. I need to track down a 26/26 strap for my pam 203 though.. I was looking for bob straps on ebay.. decent prices although not quite awesome.. I was kind of hoping to get one of those really thick (5mm) straps... -Kaneda
  11. So if I am to understand you correctly, it's not a solid bar going through the strap, but infact two peices that stick into each end of the strap on each side.. Thanks for your reply btw. -Kaneda
  12. I just got my Pam 183 from Josh today and it is great, what I was curious about, however was how to change out the strap on it.. The wire lugs appear to be held in by four screws, I presume if I remove the screws I can take the lugs out, however the bit that hangs out doesn't look like it would easily slide through the band.. Ideas? comments? Enjoy the photos + wrist shots btw Thanks guys -kaneda
  13. Bump. BUY TICKETS Even if you don't want the tools.. it's really worth it.. because I really want the tools
  14. Have a gander at this photo: http://www.trustytime.com/images/ROLEX/ROLDYT0003_7.JPG Notice the rotor engraving.. 'Officine Rolex Firenze' That's new to me hehe.. Anyone else have any examples of hilarious and ridiculous markings on reps? -Kaneda
  15. So then.. what happens if all the tickets don't get sold? And if we are to go ahead with the lotto, what would be the ending date? is it arbitrary? Questions abound.. also BUMP... and one more thing.. BUY TICKETS PEOPLE!!! -kaneda
  16. Original equipment manufacturer. -Kaneda
  17. Well, I just ponied up for two tickets! Wish me good luck. -Kaneda
  18. Have a look at that guy's history. He just recently bought the watch and is now flipping it again.. The photos in the previous sale have closeups of the Cannon pinion. It's recessed. What a weasel.. -Kaneda
  19. Okay! Paul delivered and did a great job. He answered e-mails in a fairly timely fashion (about once a day, or more frequently if he was up and about) The watch arrived in great condition and he did right by me! He has earned extra business from me. You can read my dealer review HERE: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=11388 -Kaneda
  20. The lug width is 20mm on this one.. at least from andrew it is -Kaneda
  21. Hmm.. the way I read the question I thought he was asking what model strap it was.. Not too sure.. I've seen some straps for PO's that are the same but with orange stitching.. if it's RE the watch.. dunno -Kaneda
  22. As far as I've heard US customs holds things for anywhere from a few hours to ten days.. -Kaneda
  23. I figured I'd give Paul a go, seeing as his prices are pretty decently low. I figure I can do all the reading in the world but I'll only really know what his service is like if I pony up my own bucks. So I went ahead and ordered an IWC FA Jones from him. We'll see how it goes, I will post updates as they become available -Kaneda
  24. Yeah, it's described as having synthetic sapphire on Josh's site.. I figured that meant sapphire... heh. I'm still curious to see whether anyone out there has experienced their watch crystal just cracking as is.. It was fine the day before when I checked on it.. then this morning it was cracked.. I figure the only way it could happen is if it was jammed right in there under tremendous pressure.. -Kaneda
