Wow , Wow, Wow M! Its amazing how certain features, or details leap off the page.....
The Honpo/The Zigmeister CG is just the business on the 028.
The side perspective shot of the 029 crystal is awesome - what a thing of beauty to look through - look at the clarity in that cyclops from side on?
We can all see why these are your faves!

Very nice indeed - when you say free, do you mean as in 'free with a gen' or what?
-
Wonderful strip down and outcome.
Many thanks :-)
-
Great link to Zigs thread - thanks.

Theres was a whole flood of these on ebay around 3 years ago - I have to admit I bought a 'beautiful day date' as a gen, without even noticing the 'wingding' - still got the pics. I was gutted when I first noticed it - some time after buying it LOL
Amazing to see this on VRF - for sale I presume?
-
Enjoyed the read - thanks Auto :-)

Great piece of work - dont believe I have seen 'that mod' before?
-

Clever Clogs!! Wish I knew how to
Thanks to both of you guys.....great read.

Wonderful - best PAM Rad ever award?
-
Best Combo yet - and I cannot see that being surpassed.
Wonderful pictures LHOOQ, thanks for taking the time

I figured out how to do it. This is a cheaper rivet bracelet and now it has a nicer gen clasp. I used one of those blocks with crisscross slices through it to hold the bracelet. I used a tiny punch to drive the pin through. Swapped in the gen clasp then hammered the pin back in.
I know...simple..but for me it was a fun discovery! lol
Woof* - looks great
You can also use a standard pin pusher tool - the type you screw in to push a pin from a bracelet link when you adjust your bracelet? Its the same principle.

OP - The best advise I can give is select a Gen watch that you wish to replicate in look and age: and work to that template. Enjoy yourself - once you start, its hard to stop!
Here you go Nanuq, here is some inspiration for your next 1680 project........perhaps the Gen owner did not know this was an automatic movement
-
Finally don't forget to tilt your dial by 38 degrees..............
-
Wonderful stuff...

In agreement with OP here. Looks like the 1655 case set and the old submariner style bezel ring..............could well be a snap fit to a retainer ring, like the recent subs etc?
Rehaut looks good but CG's out for a 1675, is it a 6mm crown like the 1655 ....doh!

Beautiful piece and a great project....

OP - great work J!
Preacher62 - thanks for crown mod tip, excellent result!

I saw pics of the branded Jubilee from Raffles Time and I didn't like the quality of the coronet on the clasp buckle. It was too off, wrong shape. I have a President bracelet from him, and the coronet for the hidden clasp is ok. Maybe it's hit or miss. I'd be interested in seeing someone's jubilee if they recently got one from him, because if the coronet looks okay now, I'd consider maybe picking up a spare clasp eventually.
The D links on his rep are excellent - I have some of his and a gen on my 1977 DJ, and they are very, very close.
I will check the clasp coronet and get back here with a picture or two

WOW and yes it can be seen in the pictures....nice one

Can somebody please help me up .......

......and a great looking combination in a super picture set!
Seen so many of these on light tan straps, its good to see this combination working so well. Do the dealers have these in stock again just now?
-
not sounding good on this latest batch is it - assuming that it is NOT a case of what PeteM decribed earlier - but sounds unlikely that so many have the same 'dont know how to tighten a screw' issue?
Putting me off this watch now - it's the chat about the 'outer ceramic' moving away from the case that bothers me?
Any of you Paneristi have this watch and understand what this comment means?
-
and a few more...............
So, what do you think?

So I got fed up with so many nice SS bracelet watches - I picked up a Peter Gunny Nato....................I will say that this is probably the finest, softest, best quality hardware strap that I have come across. Total top quality and value.
A few quick Blackberry Curve pics for the road.......
Makes the watch wear quite large as it sits high on the wrist with the double thickness leather under the case.
Top quality SS hardware.....
Funny thing is I bought a 22mm width and then realised my Speedie is only 20mm lug width - but I quite like the extra fit.
Loving the 1970's............do you actually remember when life was this colourful..?

Well I just got my 1655 build back from my watchsmith yesterday and mounted it - finally - to a Donerix vintage, custom Nato and buckle.
So I thought I would get the current 1970's trio out for a little family outing. Heres a few quick and dirty Blackberry Curve shots.
Hope you like them
