  1. Ok, I've been looking up the 69173, and it looks to me on every one I've seen, the lume dots actually TOUCH the stick marker. On your dial, it looks like they do not.

First of all thanks to everyone for taking the time to post and share :thumbsupsmileyanim:

The bracelet does have the correct 468B end links and also it is dated 'N' '5' on the inside - not dated it yet? I have seen N date clasps on other L series case sets so that is a good sign.

The dial was my concern. I have never seen a 'rail dial' - the outer minutes ring like a railway track - not sure if that is what you call it????

All of the normal dials do have the lume dots touching the sticks - this does not.

I guess my concerns are like commented above - is the bracelet aftermarket or a hybrid cos it has little wear and stretch the clasp and end links seem gen for sure)? Is the dial aftermarket, or a later service dial?

    Thanks again to all

  2. A watch bought at MBK Mall, as you say, is not neccessarily a 'MBW' version? In fact it is likely that it is not now, but it may be a more modern day equivalent if you look, dig and negotiate hard enough on a personal visit.

The best way would be to use a trusted dealer like Reg (Narikaa) to source one for you, when he next visits the region? Or sources from his own personal sources.

There are some respected MBW/MBK experts here that could clarify all for you - where are you Highoey???? :whistling:

  3. WOW Ronin that is hot - there is the benchmark!

Akira - you can use the Asian DG movement from the 1655 $128 model.

Dont forget to add a Clark 116? and 2mm spring bars in drilled lug holes?

You could use the 7836 folded bracelet from the Josh 1655 and save the cost of a Yuki 7206? :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  4. So as I stepped into my car this morning I noticed this on the floor, with the early morning dew glistening in the low morning sun....

I had my Blackberry to hand and popped a couple of 'point and shoot shots' - not bad eh?

Then I thought, 'oh what the heck?'.........'I have a minute to spare!

Yes, these are shot on my Blackberry Curve with no touch ups

Even managed to get the date wheel in focus :D

  5. Thanks for the comparison. What a great pair! I must hold back, but his case set is a favourite of mine.

Sead has just announced what looks like a great relume service on this piece - if you buy the watch through him. Good colour uncharged and gen bright when charged. :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  6. I guess I'll just put it in the category of things I will never understand - with women, cricket, and skinny jeans

Thanks for that laugh it's brightened up my day! :drinks:

Just sitting and staring at the small sub seconds dial on my 005k dial, reading this thread and wondering who in their right mind can tell what beat rate this thing is.............well at least when it is on my wrist and NOT not on a service bench! :whistling:

Either way, both are great lookers and great value as we all know well. :victory:
