The sound of clock makes me crazy... always waiting for the next tic.

Saw some very cool panerai gens whilst in London and decided to get one when i returned to the states and I did! I started looking again and these reps came up on searches here and there.. before you know it I found forums like this and now I have around 8! What a thrill every time the postman comes w/ a new one... like a freaking kid at xmas.

This is the first rep I've purchased to stop working and I just bought it a few weeks ago! It's a 212 w/ Asian 7750 28.8 w/ AR. It arrived with the rotor hanging loose so i had a jeweler remove the case back and tighten the screw that had come off. I didn't wear it because when I tried to swap straps.. I found out the lug screws didn't have enough thread to tighten! Well... tried to get screws from the seller but they never came so purchased some from another dealer on EBAY and was able to finally wear this baby. Today was the second day I wore the 212 since I got it and noticed it was 6:30.. earlier than I thought it might be but ignored it. Hour later I looked and still 6:30? It stopped.. wound the thing well yesterday and it had a lot of movement today as i could feel the rotor spinning like a top. I wound it again just now and it's running but why would it stop? Surely an auto should keep chugging if you wear it daily and start w/ a full on wind?? Maybe the rotor isn't engaging the wind spring? wtf?

I stand corrected, Reps.. not fake. I hate using the word fake but I was trying to make my point. Now.. with this new date mag 1:1 that has been found for $35.. that's a mod I won't hesitate to pay someone to do if I can't do myself. Nothing worse than having to squint to see what the date is!!!

I already have the B&R PVD chrono orange rep on order... if not for that I might consider getting the same in uboat. Thanks for your input. I've pulled the trigger already.. steel/yellow! There's just something about that combination.

First I pick up the package to feel how heavy it is... if it feels light i immediately get worried that it's a piece of crap. Next, I make sure it works and put it on to see how it looks. Lastly, time for a strap change because the rep strap is usually not up to snuff although lately i've been getting pretty good quality.

I would do mods if I knew how to do it myself and it really improved the look of the watch, but to pay hundreds of dollars to someone else to do it on a $200 watch that is fake no matter what you mod on it? NEVER :yucky:

You mean dropshipping. It's when joe blow sells you a watch and then has his cousin's father's sister's husband's friend pick it up and ship it to you. This person doesn't give a rats ass what shape the watch is in so it's like playing roulette.... sometimes you win... most times you lose. Have you tried changing straps on that 212 yet? Bet the lug screws are stripped because there's virtually no thread on them. Add that to your list of problems.

I didn't know the crown didn't screw down.. frown That bugs me but not enough. The other thing that bugs me is that the glass isn't sapphire. They call it K1 mineral or something like that? hmmm... I'd get this one grey market just like my other gens so will save a good sum over retail.

I think it cheapens it somehow too.

Sucks when you get a new toy and then have to send it back to the store because it's broke? Sounds like you're not too worried about the RG but the bezel and screws would be a deal breaker for me unless I could get it fixed locally and have the dealer give me a break on the next purchase to cover the reasonable cost. I bought a panny w/ ss bracelet that won't clasp tight and I'm hoping I can file it or adjust something.. haven't really looked at it yet. There has to be a way to fix that easily???

I like the AP.. somewhat. The rest need some big screws on the face.. maybe a few massive hunks of buttons on both sides. My company went casual dress so I got rid of my Gen Rollie sub for a Gen Panny. I've made the death leap to industrial looking time telling instruments and can't find my way back. Please send help.

Thinking about getting a U-Boat ToF. These 50mm monsters come in SS and PVD, Yellow/Red and Orange. I've ruled out the red... leaning towards yellow SS. It's tough to find photos of all the colors that can be pulled off the web but here's the PVD and SS. The Orange looks to have yellow hands... not crazy about the color combo. The PVD is nice but I like shiny things.. kinda like a bird. What do you think?

I'm even thinking about getting a U-Boat Thousands of Feet.. something about that big square hunk of steel w/ lots of big lumed numerals... might be because I'm over 40 and can't see the damn thing.

This watch is sick and I don't mean that in the african american context. I've never seen anyone wear iced out watches who wasn't either a rapper or wanna-be rapper. It screams pretentious!

Looking for one good tool that will open any size caseback 44/47 Panny. Will the LG Master Hand wrench do the trick?
