  1. I suppose people who are not from the USA will be unfamiliar with the saying but when you "sell someone the Brooklyn Bridge" you have taken advantage of their naiveté ...

So for a watch with the Brooklyn Bridge on the case back ..... this is very [censored] hilarious.

    The best comment from Risti:

"Instead of the Brooklyn Bridge, the Manhattan Bridge would have been more befitting. It's closer to Chinatown..."

  2. I am unstoppable when comes to regulation of my reps :) Usually, i stop regulating when:

    - it slows/advances 1-2 secs a day and...

    - i found special way of placement the watch for the night (i.e. dial down) when it does opposite to the day's inaccuracy.

This way I can narrow inaccuracy down to +/- 3 secs a week.

For regulation pursposes I use Kello APP from AppStore (iPhone)

I seriously start regulating the watch after min. 6 weeks of constant use - after "break in" period.

  3. Here is my new 111M

    (...)

    Rob

I am waiting for my 111M to come from Joshua... What can you tell about time keeping? How many +/- secs per day? Is this roughly the same as shown on QC photos from timing machine?

    Regards,

    Pawel

  4. I like the titanium version of almost any watach if available. There is Tag Heuer AD in my place but never carried any titanium version of the watch as specified in the post title, hence there was no way to see it in flesh :(

I tried to use web to find about differences of SS vs titanium and here they are:

    1. The crown top is not filled with resin on Titanium version (this is OK in reps):

    10.jpg

    2. There is TH logo plate on a buckle in titatnium version vs engraved TH symbol (?) in SS (rep makers got it wrong in Titanium versions):

    11.jpg

    3. Titanium version have clearly additional "dishes" applied on minutes/hours chrono subdials where SS have them simply cut in the dial (another thing rep makers got wrong):

    Titanium (applied):

This one is confusing, since it is SS version of Singapore but Titanium Singapore has the same plates:

heres Titanium version (Singapore) but smaller pic:

    SS (cut in):

    4. The day date window frame front surface is matte in Titanium while polished in SS (rep makers assumed is polished on any version).

    Am I right?

  5. I am using Kello, too. The mic is standard as comes with earphones. I used hockey puck with cut out "valley" for a mic. I put the watch on it and it works :)

    I managed to set my a7750 calibre 16 day/date to whooping +1 sec/day :D in normal use.

    Tip:

Kello is basing on your iPhone quartz which is not so accurate. It is best to get very accurate watch (or a watch with known inaccuracy) to virtually calibrate Kello. Now I know that when something is running 0 sec/day Kello actually shows -2.6 sec/day. Knowing the difference helps regulating the watch ;)

  6. I bought limited version of Carrera Calibre 16 Singapore, that one with green accents - and it is great :) The are some details which bothers me:

    - no "dishes" for minutes / hours of chrono (the GEN has them risen up from dial surface like this:)

    IMG_8507.jpg

These dishes are applied, not cut deep into dial:

    IMG_8455.jpg

    - TH logo is missing arrows for G

    - wrong day date font (to be modded with ETA's ones)

We all are still waiting for an Ultimate of these watches ;)

  7. I bought the watch from Joshua. For the price and normal shippment (EMS) costs - Joshua sent it in two (2) separate EMS, one for watch and, one day later, the box. Box is expected on Monday so I skipped the box part at all since SMIDSY/RWI did it already.

The watch is perfect. Swiss ETA 988.333 inside. Everything from B&R page about this watch is correct in case of settings etc.

There are two type of crown rotation needed to set some function: slow and fast turn. Fast turn is really FAAAST, you need to turn as fast as you can, literally.

Now to the pictures (sorry for the visible dust particles...sunny day):

The crown has some resin layer on it, tried to show it:

On this picture I did my best to get worst glare from the window on the crystal - surpisinlgy LCD remained clearly visible due to birefringence, I guess...

To compare sizes, PAM 288 on the left:

    12.jpg

The LCD readability is quite subtle, but I like it - it doesn't "fight" with the dial and hands ;)

Alarm signal is two-tone and quite nice. Minute hand moves every 30 seconds.

  8. Yes... i think cannon pin cap is a tell. SMIDSY on RWI suggested that both versions (cap and no-cap) are being produced but I wasn't able to find any GEN photo with no silver cap. Look at these:

    GENS:

This one is with dark cap BUT it is DEMONSTRATION UNIT with paper LCD inserts etc.:

    bellross-br03-88-bracelet-02.jpg

I wasn't able to find a GEN pics with dark cannon pin cap except this demonstration unit (which is no real watch anyway).
