I'm not sure I understand the red lume, but hey, to each his own. It's a very nice looking watch. Did you perform any CG mods, because yours looks pretty darn good.

Vac is good at what he does. The Zigmeister, though, is an absolute master, and he will attempt (and perform) mods that no one else will do. If you want to take your watch all the way, he's the man, and worth waiting for.

Oh man....can't wait to see it!! Beeeen waiiiting for it for a loooong time!

This one has officially been stuck in customs longer than any other watch I've ever ordered. It's torture! Is there anything I can do?

I've had a watch in customs (from Canada) for a week now. No idea how to shake it loose, not even sure it can be.

Ha! The more things change, the more they stay the same...

No doubt! The wife and daughter were just in NYC for a pre-Christmas weekend, and they had a blast. I promised my wife she and I would head up to the city this summer sometime. I'm sure we can find a date that works for everyone....

Well, in that time I've had about 4 different gen pieces, many reps and other things, so it's not like I've been pining idly. This is just a project that I've thought about for a long time. Finally made a move on it this summer when I sold my gen 111.

Stuck in customs ALL WEEK! I wish there was something I could do to move that process along. Until then... more waiting.

One of the great all-time Daylight collections, and this pic doesn't even show the gen dial on the 188, does it, W? What an amazing collection.

I'm surprised that this is the new movement, clearly the finish isn't as good. Is this meant to totally replace the 7750? It appears there have been a number of changes, not the least of which is the bridges. Are there supposed to be performance gains in this?

I may be a tease without pics, but I'm just too excited about this one not to post.

The watch: PAM 88.

The parts: Gen dial, hands, case back, crown, crystal, and date wheel. Polished Snembo crownguard.

The mods: All performed by the master in Canada. 1. watch completely disassembled; 2. crystal seat machined to lower crystal to correct height; 3. new correct tube fabricated; 4. new correct size o'rings installed; 5. CG lever tightened; 6. DW mod; 7. new silver steel cap cannon fabricated and installed; 8. too small o'ring on caseback - replaced with correct size

The location? In the US, which is all I can tell from the shipping info so far. I pledge to post pictures ASAP, I'm sure it will be quite soon.

To say that I'm excited about this one is an understatement. I've been at this game for a long time now, and the 88 has always been a bit of a grail for me. I can't explain it -- I've had a lot rarer pieces, gen pieces, and lot rarer parts, but this watch has always just sung to me (I'm sure you all understand). So, five years in -- I have my 88!

It's been a while since Zig and I have worked together, and I'm so happy to have reconnected, and that this watch is the piece that's done it. You can see how much work he has put in, work that NO ONE else would attempt or care to do. Zig if you see this, thank you, truly, for all you do.

Overall, which would you say is the better of the two?

I think I'm going to have to pull the trigger on that 177. It's just too perfect a beater to pass up. It's not perfection, but at less than 300? NO BRAINER. Thanks for sharing your pics.
