Oh I'm not disagreeing with you. My ultimate plan is to install a Swiss movement in it. This is a bridge as you say to that transplant. I need the Asian to function within moderate tolerances for a few months to a year, when I'm ready.

You've raised some interesting questions. Do I need a 7754, or can a standard Swiss 7750 be made to function as GMT? Is there a module or mod made to the standard 7750 which makes it a 7754?

I would love to know what Zig thinks about this. It's very interesting to me.

I don't have specs on the movement unfortunately. The case, however, is supposed to be an 88L, at least according to the gen caseback. What i was told is that while it is not a perfect fit, the difference was virtually imperceptible and would not affect the function of the watch.

Speedy says that the A7750 will fit in the gen case. He's putting it together today. I will report back with pics as soon as I can. Thanks for all the advice. Fingers crossed for a successful project.

Oh, crap. My project just got a lot more complicated. Either that, or I can't use the gen case. Not sure where I'd find the 7754. Damn.

Keep in mind, i have a genuine case. The Question then becomes will my asian movement fit. I know for sure that a swiss 7750 would.

I haven't heard back from Panerai. It seems the watches are going to the big time collectors, which I think is to be expected. I've only purchased four of them, which makes me a very, very small fish.

Ultimately this isn't a huge deal, as the A7750 can be made to be reliable. Moreover, the biggest flaw - the sunken date wheel - is fixed on my watch. I just thought maybe I'd try to take it all the way.

I've got a super franken 88 build on the way and I have a question. I will be adding gen dial, hands, case, crown, crown guard, crystal and datewheel. Watch currently has an A7750.

Is it possible to upgrade to Swiss 7750, or do there need to be extra mods or modules added to the movement? Is it even worth upgrading, or is a serviced A7750 good enough? This one has the sunken DW fix.

I really like it, but I prefer your 233. I think the "12" "6" provides just a big more balance... wish that "9" wasn't there. Plus, the handwind has it all over the auto any day! You've developed a stunning collection, it's been a joy watching it grow.

I cannot express just how good Rob's work is. In all the years I've worked with him, I think this is the single best lume job that I've seen. The sausage numerals are utterly flawless. Put it this way: I was offered a gen dial and hands at a somewhat reasonable price, and I said no. It's that good.
