  1. I also started out on RWG in 2005, under a different name...don't ask why I had my reasons for a fresh start I always called RWG home and I intend to contribute as often as I can - like in the old days mostly with pictures and reviews If you look at my pictures from the past you might figure out who I was back than cheers WR
  2. This one came from one of our trusted dealers - Joshua - here is a link to his section: http://www.rwgforum.com/forum/73-joshua/ cheers WR
  3. I have seem it somewhere - but I can't find it anymore Thanks - I prefer the Tech Seal - there is just something about the polished SS, PVD and CF dial that makes it pop more than the Commando
  4. thanks for the clarification - I guess with some modding the glossy markers could be fixed. It is anyway not meant to fool anybody into thinking it is the gen Thanks! The sole reason why I buy replicas is to either test drive one where I am trying to decide to get the real deal or buy replicas where I would never spend the amount of money on the real deal The only Rolex Vintage that I am considering as a real thing is the "Steve McQueen Explorer" - those can still be had for around $10K whereas the DRSD's in great condition go for around $30k... cheers WR
  5. I know what you mean with the caseback - not sure though what's wrong with the dial?
  6. just received 2 Vintage Rolexes from Angus and for the money I think you can't get anything better - I am no Vintage Rolex expert so I am not going to comment on accuracy of the replication. All I can say is that I really like those 2 starting with the Vintage Double Red Seadweller. Both of dials are not really black, but ever so slightly brown which adds to the Vintage look - I particularly like the bezel pearl which looks better than on any vintage rep I have ever seen and some wrist shots: Next up the Vintage Red Submariner with the "Meter First" dial - that crystal and the date mag is awesome and finally the wrist shots: Hope you enjoyed the pictures! cheers WR
  7. Hi folks, following the Graham Chronofighter Diver Tech Seal v2 is the Graham Chronofighter Oversized Commando in Titanium As with the Tech Seal this also one if the best out of the box replicas - there are some minor issues that I hope can be fixed: AR is very weak and it looks like it is only a blueish tint rather than real AR Minute subdial hand at 9 o'clock resets perfectly but seems to have some play since it moves about 1/3 of a second when I move the watch - same as with the Tech Seal The rubber strap is actually terrible - the "Graham" lettering is very shallow and the surface of the strap is already glossy on some parts - the Tech Seal strap is much better Other than that it is close to perfect - Here are the things that I particularly like: Perfect case - no sharp edges! Stunning CF dial Lever is very tight - no floppyness like on the Tech Seal I had the watch on my watchtimer and the results were OK - average deviation between positions was +9.8 sec/day and the Amlitude was a strong 287 degrees, which indicates no issues with the movement. Enough said - now on to the pictures! And here is the strap - you will see what I was referring to earlier when you compare it to the Tech Seal strap ...lume shot - I played around with taking 2 pictures - one in the dark and one with light and than overlayed them and finally the wrist shots: Ok, that's it for now - hope you enjoyed my post? Stay tuned for posts of my other new watches - two more to come today: Rolex Double Red Seadweller and Rolex Red Sub meter first
  8. Hi folks, I just received a couple of watches that I am totally excited about - first up is my Graham Chronofighter Diver Tech Seal v2 from Angus This has to be one if the best out of the box replicas right now - there are some minor issues that I hope can be fixed: Lume at 12 o'clock index unevenly applied/interrupted - hoping the reluming will fix this Lever slightly loose - I know this can be fixed with a washer Minute subdial hand at 9 o'clock resets perfectly but seems to have some play since it moves about 1/3 of a second when I move the watch Other than that it is close to perfect - Here are the things that I particularly like: Perfect case - no sharp edges! Stunning CF dial PVD on the bezel is perfect Bezel is very tight and aligns perfectly Nice rubber strap, be it with a strong plastic smell, but much better and deeper "Graham" lettering than on my Graham Oversize Commando TI AR is very good, again much better than on my Graham Oversize Commando TI that only seems to have a blue tint to it, but no real AR I had the watch on my watchtimer and the results were so and so - average deviation between positions was +19.2 sec/day and the Amlitude was only 210 degrees, which indicates a poorly oiled movement or another issue - this will hopefully be taken care of with a full service of the movement. Enough said - now on to the pictures! And here is the strap - you will see what I was referring to earlier when you compare it to the Commando TI strap ...some lume shots - I played around with taking 2 pictures - one in the dark and one with light and than overlayed them and finally the wrist shots: Ok, that's it for now - hope you enjoyed my post? Stay tuned for posts of my other new watches (Graham Oversize Commando TI, Rolex Double Red Seadweller and Rolex Red Sub meter first)
  9. thanks a lot for the warm welcome! thanks Mike your taste can't be that bad either since you own a 253 and 250
  10. you are forgetting that the 7753 has the running seconds at 9 - the Cosmo has it at 3 and also has the 24 hour modification as well as a different DW position - this one is absolutely gen To the OP: when are we going to get the resolution to your quest?
  11. While the question might have been asked many times I consider it quite interesting how my opinion about this subject has changed over time - Years ago I had a lot of watches that I would have stated were keepers, but after years of collecting replicas as well as gens I now know that my taste will continue to evolve and there might only be a few pieces that I would consider keepers - in particular if they are replicas For me personally it was always the watch I didn't have yet that I thought would be a keeper - after having it for while though I always found something that I wanted more or could finally afford. We will see in a couple of years if your currently stated keepers are still with you
  12. IMHO watches in general should not be look at as an investment, unless you are fortunate enough to get a PP 5070, 5790 or any of the very few highly desirable ones - all the other ones loose their value like any other high end brand - In my experience the fact that a watch is limited also doesn't necessarily translate into a higher value down the road. My advice: pick the one that really talks to you and buy because you want to wear it and not because you consider it an investment
  13. Nice 162 - was always my favorite PAM Chrono
  14. Thanks - no I sold most them a couple of years ago - getting into collecting replicas again, has been a recent development :-) Thanks to everybody else for your comments - Appreciate it! cheers WR
