Anyone Have A 44mm Pam Case & Bezel-crystal Without Ar Coating For Sale?
wan replied to wan's topic in General Discussion
Would i have to take the crystal totally off of the bezel or do you think i could polish the AR coating off by just taking the movement out and polishing the inside of the crystal through the case?.....would that work or am i just trying to be lazy?.......Thanks, wan -
If you do, i am intrested........all i need is the case, bezel and "non"AR coated crystal....I do not need the CG or caseback.........I need it for a 201-A i am working on and i have the wrong crystal, i need one thats clear....with no purple or blue tint on the glass..........If you have one please PM me and let me know how much........Thanks, Wan

Anyone Get A Pam76 Yet?...if So, How Is It In Person?
wan replied to wan's topic in General Discussion
no one out there buy one yet? -
I am curious how the pam76 looks and feels in person, does the engraving look like quality?...........I know that the original has a titanium case but the rep is brushed ss..........Does that make the weight very heavy?......If the pam76 looks great in person, i think it will be my next so if you have one please give me a number between 1 and 10. Ten being the best rep you have ever seen and one being the worst.........Thanks, Wan

My Vp From Out Of Town Has A Pam. Need A Crash Course. Help.
wan replied to pman's topic in General Discussion
First you should make sure to pronounce it right, because alot get it wrong..Panerai is pronounced Pan-er-I, or panr-eye.....Also,most hard core panerai collectors particularly like the pre-vendome models which were made before 1997. The pre-vendome watches which means panerai watches made from 1993 when they first made a series of models offered for the first time to the public, until 1997 when the Vendome luxury group acquired panerai and launched them to the international market....(since......the Vendome group has changed its name to the Richemont Group, which is a watch power house).........From the early 1900's until the 1980's Panerai made military watches exclusively for the Royal Italian Navy and in 1938 created the first military divers watch in history. Panerai also made watches for the Egyptian Navy for a bit in the mid 50's when they created the Radiomir series........If your VP is not aware of the un-official Panerai web site&fourm called Paneristi, its a must for enthusiasts..."but www.paneristi.com is ONLY a genuine watch site,no reps or rep talk allowed there"............If there is enough time between now and when he arrives. PM me with an adress and i will send you a cool strap for his pam111 you can give him.(free of charge) I literally have about 75 straps, all diffrent brands and styles so it really would be no bother. There are probably a dozen i never even tried on So if theres time just let me know..............Thanks,and i hope at least the info on Panerai helps...........wan -
I think anyone who has had the rep-pam addiction for any time would agree that either of these watches have made us drool for a good rep of one........With the current quality we are seeing on some of the newer reps, i am pretty sure a great pam98 and a pam242 could be made to look 99% accurate...............If someone, even someone with a smaller operation "like Finepics or Davedsen or someone like that" could source or custom make the radiomir gmt cases and dials. If that happened and it was a special thing and not mass produced they would be the hottest ticket in the rep world......Thats what i think, anyway................Thanks, wan

I have seen a couple rep ss/[censored] bracelets on a Gen pam accessories fourm but they were wanting over $200 for a new un-opened one but i am not willing to pay that............On the ad, they said that they will no longer be made so if thats true, i would look for a good condition used one for half that price or less.."hopefully less"............I actually have a much more rare ss/[censored] rep bracelet with the single deployant that looks more like the genuine ones that i have seen up close. Also they feel like they weigh much less than other rep [censored]/ss and the [censored]/is darker than the most recent double deployant ss/[censored] bracelet, the most recent looked like brushed and polished ss unless you oxy it to darken the titanium..(you can see how to oxy on a post here on the fourm)....i did a search for "oxy" is i think is how i found it again ..............Anyway, if you have one,"either one"....I would hold on tight! or if you have one to sell?..........i guess that now would be the time........Unless of course, "and this brings me back to my original question".......Are they or will they ever be made again?...... I know someone out there knows for sure.....................Thanks, wan

Hello, the only thing really diffrent from the rep you are looking at and a genuine pam111 you would buy new is: The genuine pam111 does not offer a stainless steel band for the 111 nor does a genuine one fit on that model..."they come with a leather strap and will not fit a genuine OEM stainless steel/bracelet"...........I have seen quite a few people who have genuine pam111's with an aftermarket rep ss/bracelet on it.....Because the aftermarket rep ss/bracelet will fit on a genuine pam111, it would'nt be a sure give away the watch you are looking at is a replica "by having the ss/band" ,but....... a leather strap on a pam111 is the way it was intended to be worn, but it sure looks nice with a ss/bracelet on it............I myself like the way an all brushed ss/bracelet looks on my pam222.."which is another Panerai where the genuine is meant to only sport leather straps but looks great with the aftermarket ss/bracelet"...................As far as the look and feel of the watch itself?....I would say they are about 95% genuine looking on the wrist as is, and 99% if you have the cannon pinion changed to a taller one and super-lume the dial and hands but, if this was to be your first replica Panerai then the cannon pinion and extra lume will not bother you yet..........................Yet,............so when things like tiny amounts of space above the pin that holds your watch hands on, start to bother you and you feel you need to fix the few minor problems that only so few would ever notice.....Then, you will have gone Pamcrazy like myself and half of the watch freaks on this site.................Good luck, Wan (also, thats a fine choice for a first... Pam111) and Josh is a great seller!!!

The hands on the 232 in the pic above at top of page (with the hands like pam127 hands) were on the prototype 232's i've seen....The production 232's have the vintage style hands that curve in twards the cannon pinion.....You can go to the Panerai web site and see it in the 06' special editions now......( i personally like the look of the 232 with the pam127 looking hands better than the vintage style curved ones they are using for production)..............At least both hands were used on the 232 so either way you go, you diddnt go wrong................(straight hands-prototype) and (vintage curved hands-production)............I think you can get the 232 with the vintage curved hands from trusty-time..............As far as which Rad to get? 232 all the way.....Its the latest and the greatest, plus you can get one before anyone can get there pre-ordered genuine 232's from Panerai .................Thanks, Wan
