Great looking watch...........But before you go and have an AR coating put on it you should check and make sure the gen pam89 has it first....... Not all pams have the blueish AR coating, like the genuine pam222 does not and im not positive but i think the pam89 might not either...................I think the pam91 does not have it and it also has an Anthricite dial so i would check first.............Cheers, Wan

Is that a pam40 or a pam004? Is it a rep or gen? The watch looks titanium but in the pic im not quite sure if its pvd. I have a custom rep pam40 made for me by Finepics that looks very close to a gen, Mark just did a first rate job and i could not be more pleased. Up till now i have never seen another rep pam40, i thought i had the only one. I had Finepics polish off the AR coating from the crystal because that is how the gens are. Did you do the same? Also, at the bottom of the dial where it says (T-swiss-T), the correct way is (T swiss T) without the little lines which is one thing i need to fix. I am curious what yours has? "i cant see in the pics"...............Anyway, you have a beautiful watch and if its a gen........sorry for all the modding talk, you probably dont know or care what im talking about. Davidsen makes a 24mm screw in buckle that has the logo and says Panerai. They look pretty good but since Panerai does not, and has never made a 24mm screw in buckle,its not a copy of a genuine. They look fine so who cares, i have one and i like it............If you email davidsen at (davidsenjpn@yahoo.com), he can show you where to check out some pics of it..........I hope this helps. Bravo!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been waiting for someone to do that to a rep fiddy. I thought of doing the same thing with my gen pam but it is a pam177 so a fiddy would not have turned out correct. I almost put the movement into a rep pam217 but the fiddy is the only one i would void my warranty for....... So for the last year and a half i've had to settle for my gen pam177 instead of a frankenfiddy but i take it day by day. I'll tell you though, i would have done it in a minute if i had a pam113. Not that i dont like the white faced pams, "i think they are really cool" i would have just done the swap for a while with a rep fiddy because i would not be able to resist...............As far as getting a 117 case, i bet you can pic one up for about a hundred dollars from one of the dealers. You might not even need a new CG because i think the one you have will fit on the 117. You might have to buy the 117 caseback but thats probably it. Just curious......How do you upload a pic to this site from my pics on file? "without using a outside photo sharing site" When i try dragging a jpeg pic into the area that says, "Initializing Attachments" all i get is the pic i dragged blown up large with no way to then submit the post with my pic................How do i post a pic where it will ask me to fill in the jpg like before the site upgrade? Im just curious..........Since the rep pam232 has the wrong style hands than the genuine production model. I was thinking it might look nice since the hands on the gen pam232 look a bit short. The pam127 hands might look pretty nice on it...........(if anyone has done this please post a pic, i would love to see it) "before i try it, anyway"..................Cheers, Wan

Hello, if you have a genuine 001 Panerai with a solid case back, i would urge you to leave it alone. Those watches are meant to have a solid caseback and if you put a clear back on it, the watch will then look like a rep..............I would leave the watch all original, and personally i think solid back Pam's are the coolest. I have a genuine pam000 with a solid caseback and i love it, love it, love it!! If you want a sapphire caseback i would suggest just buying a rep with one and wearing that........................I hope this helps. Cheers, Wan
