  1. Here is the problem. On a genuine 7753 the modification is done to the movement itself, things are changed, but an additional plate is not added. The modified asian 7750 is a clone of the 7750, but a transfer plate has been added to the dial side of the movement to shift the subdials. Since the datewheel is part of the original movement it sits under this transfer plate, hence the datewheel sitting low. You are looking at the datewheel through an opening in the transfer plate, so you can't just make the datewheel thicker. There are two ways to fix the problem. 1. The movement itself could be made the same way the 7753 is made, but only the manufactuer would be capable of making this modification. 2. I'm not sure about this, but it might be possible to use some sort of transfer mechanism to move the datewheel to the transfer plate. This would require more enginnering and equipment than I think anyone would be willing to do. Plus it would be far cheaper just to buy a genuine 7753 than to go through all this trouble. Our best hope is that Million Smart will decide to clone the 7753 themselves.
  2. I just picked up a Double Eagle from another member. All stainless with gold colored dial. I have to agree with 2sweet that this is just one nice watch, replica or not. I am surprised that there isn't more interest in the constellation series. Nice review. Wear it well.
  3. I would have to say in the 5.5 region. I don't do case mods other that refinishing, that is just not my thing. Of course I have no fear of doing this work, just haven't had a good reason. I have been buying some vintage watches and stripping them down, cleaning and rebuilding them. I can service my on movements except the chronographs so far. The problem is even though I can do alot of the work that The Zigmeister can do, I have nowhere near his skills so even though I put down 5.5 I don't real think that show the great divide between my skills and The Zigmeisters, but given the scale I don't know where else to rate myself. For those considering the work, if you are at all mechanically inclined, it is not that difficult. Start of with manual movements and work your way up.
  4. I vote for the Kairos below. Simple, elegant and based on a 2892 a2. Plus if we could actually get it with a genuine guilloche dial, oh baby! Second choice would have to be one of the IWC watches presented.
  5. Sorry for the delay elwopo. I found the click spring, so if you still need it, it is yours. PM me with your address and I'll drop it in the mail.
  6. I think I may have a click spring lying around somewhere. Give me a couple of days to look and if no one comes up with one, and I can find it, it's yours.
