Yes. Contact dealer. He might send you a new insert or even a new watch if you really push. I bought an insert from ebay, cost 22.00, looks great. -

I really don't think they are worth fixing especially since they are a couple years old. I would buy new from the dealers around here. You'll be happy you did!

I would say it is real. Check seller's feedback, that tells alot. I always pay through PayPal, if there is a slight bit of a problem, PayPal refunds your money.
