  1. @ pete--try using a 2836 datewheel, it has the "step" and I've found that's enough to get the DWO over the gears.

Thanks sneed, i contacted bk and he made me realise that the datewheel on the movement i have has had the numbers and paint removed making the overlay sit lower. I will replace it with a raised 2836 dw today and see how it is.

    Cheers

  2. Thanks for the PNs.

Ouch, that sunken DW looks like a show stopper. How do GENs using this movement get around that, or is it because of the overlay?

    Hey Ronin, anytime mate ...

Yeah its the overlay which get in the way, no problem for the normal datewheel. I have noticed though there is alot of room under that gear so a thicker overlay can be used to raise it a bit more. I tried two overlays sandwiched together and they cleared it no problem. Might have to work something out with JMB using his decals.

  3. You can always use real eta gmt movement it fits just right.

I'm rebuilding my Sillix case 1675 coz the original 2836 GMT movemt died on me. I have a gen ETA2893-2 GMT movement which as cib0rgman says does fit but as you can see in pics below the datewheel is 'sunk' because of the GMT gear. Not sure i can live with that ...

  4. Can you share what parts were needed from Cousins to raise the post?

Sure thing .... www.cousinsuk.com type in ETA289322558H204 for the hour wheel and ETA28932251H119 for the 24 hour (GMT) wheel. These are the tallest posts

As you can see using this movement you have a sunken datewheel because of the GMT gear so not sure if i gonna go with this option.
