  1. Speedie Pro and 3714 white/blue. Although some A. Lange & Sohne designs are amazing too.
  2. Nothing really fancy, but works for me.
  3. I guess it was limited some time ago. I was following it on watchuseek, and nobody could find this watch anywhere, at least in the USA, besides Vegas, so perhaps now they delivered it worldwide and it's an easy find at the local AD.
  4. Even if you can buy the same reps for 10% price, isn't it better to buy from sombody trusted with good customer service? Even if the margin was 90% - who cares, compare it to the price of gens - it's still a bargain. Probably 90% of fake watches are sold on streets, 9% via Internet, and the final 1% would be the people on rep forums buying from trusted dealers. Yes, I did make these statistics up, but when you think about it, the number of people on rep forums is still peanuts compared to the general population that buys fake watches. And the average customer buys fake watches like this:
  5. IWC sold 80 000 watches in 2009. As long as replacement parts are not sourced by guy in country where IWC sold 2 watches in a year, and they ordered 10 cases, 20 hands and 30 dials, you're safe, because taken into account the number of gensteins sold (it's not triple digits per year, or is it?), you should not worry that much - the fluctuations in number of replacement parts caused by that should be statisticaly insignificant. Omega doesn't care, and take into account, that anybody can order from Ofrei.
  6. I've been reading this forum for quite some time, wrote few posts so I guess I should introduce myself too. I'm here because I love watches and I'm happy I've found such a wonderful place that rwgforum certainly is. This forum is the exact opposite of something that somebody wrote sometime about owning fake watches: Isolated - Certainly there are no clubs for owners of fakes. No comraderie among fellow owners. No sharing of tips, tricks and performance issues. No assistance with operation, warranty or repair issues. Fake buyers are on their own with nobody to care, nobody to help and nobody to compliment or encourage them--except for the occasional person you might encounter that doesn't know enough about watches to realize you are trying to 'impress' them with a cheap counterfeit. And it makes me quite glad that actually there is such place and I've found it :-) Best regards
  7. I have ref. photos for this one. The hour and minute hands look gen, taken from different dial version of this (with dotted hour markers, not "tear" like this one). Price would be 6000-9000$ for fair quality and 12000-15000$ for good. I would say this one if fair... Still, a real gem.
  8. Anybody knows whether the current Aqua Terra reps can be frankened (dial, hands) easily? It's far from being as popular as PO, so I haven't seen any actual project like that, and I think it's a gorgeous watch, and with gen dial and hands and chief's AR it would be awesome ;-) on some brown Hirsch modena strap...
  9. This gen: Maybe franken 3714 or UPO. Don't know. I was about to buy gen quartz Aqua Terra, but then discovered that the repped that, and since it was on fleebay, dont wanna take the risk. Lets' stick to 100% gen and 100% reps
  10. If you let the second hand spin 10 times a second all the time then you're probably arsking for trouble
  11. 1/1000th from Basel 2011 is even better.
  12. Partly, because when people buy anything second-hand, they assume that "something must be wrong with it", and try to find even the smallest reason "Aha! That's why he sold it". With budget reps, it's not really that hard, is it?
  13. So they should settle for something still in production that they can afford at MSRP at AD and forget about vintage
  14. Oh yeah, I saw one hilarious post somewhere there - some guy was devasteted that rep owners can ENJOY their reps, just like real wis enjoy their precious watches, it's not right! It should be banned to enjoy reps But I understand the frustration - some poor fella saves for months to buy one rolex, and these obnoxious rep owners have lots of them, including paul newmans and DRSDs that most of gen owners can enjoy only on pictures. Of course there is this fine argument about rep quality, but in the last years, with the help of gen parts this is pretty much not valid. One more thing that always cracks me up, is the talk about "morality", "ethics". I've never seen some wis sayin' "Ok, I'll sell my DSSD, buy Seiko, and give the money to the charity, it's not moral to spend 9 grands on Rolex if kids in Africa are starving". But I guess it's the rep owners that are losers, both in life and moral, that's what they say. Anyway, I think that if it's socially acceptable to enjoy painting reproductions, why shouldn't we enjoy some beautiful designs on our hands?
  15. TICK... TICK... TICK... TICK... For 375$ it's a bargain.
  16. The same here, very elegant. The final design is a little too busy. And modified Seiko 6S37 movement inside I look forward to good replicas of this.
  17. There are three versions. From the left: 1. Prototype 2. Available in some stores right now, will not be mass produced, very limited 3. Will be mass produced
  18. Is there any difference in accepting gen parts? I plan to build a franken with gen dial, hands, crystal, bezel (so, any problems with dial and hands?) and the whole debate asian vs ETA got me thinking - what is the point of getting ETA (looking for a long-term solution), if servicing an ETA would probably cost more than new asian (which is like 25-35USD)?
  19. Can't you simply do AR at your local optometrist? Glass is a glass, AR is AR.
