  1. For the record, I'm not saying that I like it either - if that is indeed what is happening. I mean, no one likes to see the little guy get squashed, but it is reality.

I'm only saying that we live with this invisibly in nearly everything we purchase in the legit world and so I find it funny that it get's "High Horsed" here when it has to do with replica watches of all things. The same stuff happens every day with supermarket brands for instance but I bet the same folks don't complain about that or are otherwise in denial about it. Do you think Walmart doesn't price fix with it's China made crap they sell? OK, think that. Be my guest if it makes you feel better. My point is that the notion of free trade violations and price controls is something that is nearly impossible to enforce in the legitimate world so how can one expect an illegal industry controlled by the Mafia to be free of it? How about union labor in Las Vegas? Trash collection in NYC? But a few hundred replica watches on an underground forum. Absolutely. Let's get to the bottom of it from six thousand miles away and effect a change which will discourage the practice and cost the offender real dollars. Uh...OK...Have at it then, but it won't even make a dent...

So if we can't fix/influence EVERY problem in the world, we shouldn't attempt to fix/influence any? I don't see the logic in that.

Well, I don't have the ability to make a choice, personal or otherwise, about NYC trash pick-up or the Vegas labor union. I *DO* have the ability to at least make a personal choice about this.

Why is that so tough to understand?

Maybe by making a choice/decision now, it won't get to the point where J&A are the only game in town for certain watches, thus removing any choice? Maybe not, but there is only one way to find out...

  2. Quick question just to make I'm following ok

Are these products regulated by any sort of government?

If not any action a dealer may take to protect the prices he charges his costumers is absolutely ok.

If said dealer has enough pull with a manufacturer to be able to influence who the manufacturer supplies his product to, he has earned that position so he can use it at any time he pleases.

Well, TO ME, this isn't about the final pricepoint, per se. If a rep costs $700+ from EVERY source out there, it is what it is. You either buy it or you don't (I won't).

What this is about, TO ME, is an attempt by a portion of the dealers to ARTIFICIALLY INFLATE PRICES, by attempting to force the lower-priced dealers to raise prices or, if they don't, to restrict their supply of that watch.

MANIPULATING SUPPLY/DEMAND IN ORDER TO RAISE THE PRICES *I* PAY IS NEVER GOING TO BE "OK" OR ACCEPTABLE *TO ME*.

  3. I agree With you Andrew And Josh is one of the most honest dealer when they deal with they customer, not only they do prompt reply, and they take all my question/problem and answer it in a proper manner.

I don't care how Josh and Andrew run his business and how unethical they are to their small competition, As long as Andrew/Josh always do the right thing to the customer, I'm always gonna support them and keep on buying from them, There are no BUSINESS IN THIS WORLD THAT IS ETHICAL. And especially in CHINA, I'm very surprise that there is an honest Seller in China that selling product in the internet, regarding that they are so much scammer in china.

And before judging people ethic look at yourself in the mirror! No one in this world is PERFECT

How on earth is attempting to force dealers with lower prices on certain reps to raise the prices "doing the right thing to the customer"?

That is exactly what happened here. "Raise your prices on <insert model here> or else the factory isn't going to sell to you anymore." That type of activity only hurts *us*, the consumers.

  4. The caseback isn't *quite* correct. That's a 001B caseback. The good news is that both the 001 and the 004 were made in batches of 3000 that year. The bad news is that the OP number should be 6519 for the 004B, not 6518 (that's correct for the 001, though).

All in all, it's the most accurate case back you'll find for this watch, AFAIK.

  5. Excellent news but I was expecting them... OEM specs Jimmy case and OEM crown won't need any modification for OEM specs cg.

Although you know that this cg is not the proper one for your watch? For the G series you need a Jimmy cg :)

I thought all the Historic models got the new/Pre-V shaped CG for G series.....

    No?

  6. I agree....I don't spend that much on whole watches!!....This entire "hobby" has become whacky in the past year or so....Guys absolutely obsessing on "sapphire, A/R,and lume" issues...and don't even get me started on 6 versus 8 ticks per second!!

They're only effin watches for crissakes!!! :bicycle: :bicycle: :bicycle:

One man's ceiling is another man's floor...

No one is saying you should obsess over the minutiae like we do. If you don't, good for you. Whatever makes you happy. Just understand that yours isn't the only point of view out there, and differing opinions about what is acceptable/important don't mean that one side is "right" and the other is "wrong".

    Each unto his own.
