  1. Avery Johnson's sporting one at the NBA championship series.
  2. Where did you find this watchmaker. I can't find one that will open the case for $10.
  3. I haven't been into the rep hobby for very long, now, but I have enjoyed the ones I have bought. Last week, I was a guest at a golf tournament at a pretty exclusive country club in the town with the highest per capita income in the state. Having worn my rep Brietling for the first couple of days of the tournament, for the awards dinner, I decided to wear my genuine Corum Admiral's Cup, for no particular reason. While having drinks and chatting with many of the members, including one who is on Forbes' wealthiest list, I paid a lot of attention to the watches being worn. Fifteen years ago, at least three of four would have had on Rolex Day/Dates. Saturday, I saw one well-worn Day Date, one TT Datejust and a beautiful gold Longines. But most interesting of all, was that probably 60% of the men weren't wearing watches at all. They are saying that they will just use the time displays on the ubiquitous cell phones. The TT Datejust was worn by the richest guy in the club...a name anyone in the US would recognize. (Last name anyway) As luck would have it, I was at a table with the guy with the Day Date who, as it turned out, was a serious collector. He asked if he could look at the Corum. He didn't collect Corum and I don't know if he would have recognized a rep or not, but I was happy I had worn the real thing. Then he tells me that he had bought his son a Panerai for Christmas and that he had noticed my playing partner's Panerai...a rep that I had given him. I spent the rest of the night keeping between him and my partner to avoid his asking to see the Panerai. Net of all the occasional drama, there were very few expensive watches. Many more on the women than the men. And everyone of these people could have afforded a gold Rolex and, in fact, might have had one in the drawer at home. And the "collector" had a broker who located watches for him. He had been buying and selling for about 10-15 years and at this time, had about five watches, mostly Patek. He knew his watches and was impressed that I knew as much as I did...almost all of which info I've gotten from this and a couple of the other rep sites. It was fun.
  4. I will say that of the 20-25 reps I have, there have been almost no problems with any of them...except that I can't easily wear more than one at a time. The second hand not aligning perfectly with the minutes indices on a Brietling, a bezel insert falling off an Omega GMT, etc. None have been bad enough for me to stop wearing the watch. On the other hand, like Admin, sending my gen Rolex to NYC to have the battery replaced for $400 was one of the more stupid things I have done.
  5. Dallas and Miami in the finals. O'Neil vs. Nowitski, the battle of the Titans. Sorry for Miami and Coach Riley, but I expect the Dallas to be winner in six. Without a doubt, the two best teams in the league. It will be a good series.
  6. I just got this model from Joshua and couldn't be happier. It is almost a perfect replica of the original, including the strap stretch and feel, which I think must have been very difficult. The closure mechanism is bulletproof. I acutally played golf while wearing it for a bit without realizing it and it didn't seem too much the worse for wear. I wouldn't do it as a rule, though. I placed the order May 11 and received the watch on the 17th...in Texas. Fastest turnaround ever! As Andrew said, no one will call you out on this baby. Your friends at the country club will be very impressed!
  7. No. But whiskey and beer and cigarettes. For your viewing pleasure:

    TONIGHTS DRINK

This one will keep the kiddies off the street.
  9. I have the PO and while it is a nice watch, I think I prefer the Pam...especially if you but a cordovan brown strap on it. Discussions about warbody's member probably should be restricted to the looney bin.
  10. I have a gen Omega GMT and a rep from Andrew. Almost impossible to tell the difference. Except for the bezel insert coming loose on the rep.
  11. 1710+22=1732 Mistakenly added in a few gens.
  12. After thinking about all this, I don't think two in a hundred in my neck of the woods would know what a Panerai is. Until I started this sill hobby a year ago, I didn't. All of my friends have Rolexes, and not one has recognized the Pam. My brother-in-law collects watches and he had never seen one. Are we, as hobbyests, part of some giant mulit-level ponzi scheme?
  13. Funny, I have an OQ. I accidently left in a friend's car and forgot where I had left it. He called a couple of months later and told me he had my watch. When I asked why the hell he hadn't let me know sooner, he said "Well, I would have, but since it was a fake Rolex, I didn't think you would be worried".
  14. Why do you say that? I suspect that almost no one would recognize the LV, much less automatically expect that it is a rep. Find two people in 100 that even know that LV makes watches and you would be lucky. I see where you are. There may be more examples in OZ than in Texas. It is a very nice rep, though. Worth wearing whether you get called out or not.
  15. In Texas, yo tambien. And the little star is in the upper left corner.
  16. For the full gold Rolex, I've never seen the weight and heft of a genuine equaled in a replica. Or in any other full gold rep.
  17. Where's the RWG Limited EDition?
  18. Forget the sister. Does she have a mother?
