  1. I had seen your write up before, its a great one - I just don't see many wrist shots - and I don't really have many great ideas for straps You may have convinced me on the 286 though.... That buffalo strap looks pretty sharp too, not a fan of the blue stitch
  2. Sorry posted in the wrong section - my bad!
  3. I am thinking about picking one up. Years and years ago I walked by C D Peacock in Chicago and there was a 253 in the window, which sparked my interest in Panerai. That led to me purchasing the rep Fiddy that was huge at the time. Now that there is an 'ultimate' version out, I am looking to pick one up Thoughts? Criticisms? Pictures? Strap recommendations?
  4. Hasn't left my wrist yet! my poor datejust is getting lonely
  5. Yeah, he sold it to another member then it came to me. I do love the strap......
  6. I haven't posted in a while so I figured I would show off my new vintage. I have been wanting one for a while, but I am still learning about the vintage guys. Got a good deal, so I popped on it. Let me know what you think; I am planning to swap the insert (I don't care for the look of this one, the vintage seems too uniform), and I definitely want a large crown (but I have no idea how to go about doing that; sourcing/install/etc.) It has the low beat movement and I love the dial and hands, I have always loved the super tropics. The movement needs a servicing so I figure I will do the insert, crown, and tube and the same time. Anyway - the wristies!
  7. Well like KB said, he could get the parfumes from chemists (I don't know if that's aussie talk for something other than my understanding of a chemist ), but I imagine there is a building in Guangzhou where they are mixing up batches of GIT and sticking them in rep bottles and selling them for $80 a crack I wore Versace Man Eau Fraiche for some time and liked it well, also did wear too long but nice and clean. It's probably time for me to consider a 'night' scent, but I will have to go try some on in person - any recommendations?
  8. Well if Davidoff is a rep, maybe the GIT I got off the bay is from the Noobfactory
  9. Well I pulled the trigger on the cool water, $40 worhth a shot - thinking about layering it with the rep GIT Now that I think about it though, more than once I have had people ask me if I was wearing cool water whilst wearing GIT
  10. I am familiar with it, back in highscool it was the go to for metros who couldn't afford Acqua di Gio - now that a LOT of time has past, perhaps its worth giving another run. I'll pick some up, for the money you can't go wrong
  11. Max, have you purchased from fragrance.net? Their prices seem to be reasonable
  12. My experience has been the same - I have been using GIT since 2001, in that time I have become quite familiar with it and this 'batch' definitely is a bit off. There some sort of acidic quality to it - but it definitely doesn't linger as long. The cost difference is dramatic, the big bottles sell on the bay for around $80 where as they are north of $250 in the stores, it does smell nearly identical. I imagine most buyers are very happy with their purchases, either they can't tell the difference or are so pleased with the savings that they don't care Makes me wonder if you are really saving any money at all if you are reapplying throughout the day; regardless, I'm definitely going back to trusted sellers
  13. when it comes to creed, there is definitely something off with the GIT I have gotten off the bay - so either it is an old stockpile being liquidated or its counterfeit. Atleast, that's my guess - I don't know if anyone has purchased a creed product and have it show up with the insert written in Arabic, but it has occured all three times I have purchased from Ebay'rs with good feedback. Creed doesn't make eau de toilette, and I could swear the parfum I purchased from a boutique in Minneapolis lasted MUCH longer Then again, it could all be in my head....
  14. I've purchased creed from ebay sellers, always with positive feedback - but I swear that over time the scent degrades more than when i purchased from a boutique. I should probably consider some other scents now that you mention it, I've tried a few others but always came back to green irish tweed
  15. I've purchased cologne online before but I am certain I got rep crap before Anyone know a reliable place to get a decent price? I wear Creed: Green Irish Tweed
  16. Thanks, I'll have to check out the RO. I live my 6356 but I love my fiddy as well, I'm ok with big watches but the 1950 is understated - HBB's rose gold bezel was what did it I think, maybe just the pure thickness of the 7750 Well now that every character on Entourage wears a ROO it has lost some mystique....
  17. Seeing as I am posting it here, I would imagine you like them quite a bit. I ask because I just sold my SS HBB with RG Bezel. I always got a lot of compliments on it, but I felt it was just too much. I am currently wearing a vintagized 6536 for a comparison. I am thinking about an AP, what do you think? Will I find it too flashy?
  18. Hmmm, well that's odd - thanks for the info, I'll have to do some more investigating
  19. I received this bracelet but I am not an omega guy - no idea what its worth, what model it goes to, etc Thanks guys -P
  20. I great tailor I have fortunately, she has been a miracle worker in some respects (she once took an impossible amount out of a velvet tux jacket I dropped off four days before New Years) Great websites! I have particular trouble with cuffs on jackets, the sleeves are always too long and need quite a bit taken out - generally more than the buttons allow and tailoring the whole guy is expensive, though necessary. I am buckling down for some serious shopping, which I do genuinely enjoy, in order to find some brands that fit my body type. I am very much brand loyal, so hopefully I can find a couple designers that won't need a terrible amount of tailoring... provided I don't put the weight on this upcoming holiday season Any recommendations for those with similar body types would be massively appreciated @SubbiesRock - do you happen to know the name of the Aussie designer? ...hmmm Merona you say lol Great suggestions, thanks - and I will be getting some Bond flicks on my NetFlix cue
  21. I have finally moved into my first corporate job and need to build a professional wardrobe. I would love to buy a bespoke suit but I don't want to sink the lion's share in one suit. At the moment I have a pair of black Cole Haan dress boots that I generally wear with suits but I would like a pair of brown. I have 4 suits but nothing that cost me more than $600 as well as a dozen dress shirts that fit in a similar budget ($60-$100 per) Up to this point I have worked in more casual environments and I consider myself to rather fashionable - I am considering a double breasted as they are coming back into fashion, but I am afraid I am too broad (Im a 42 suit with a 12 inch drop) With my drop its very difficult for me to find proper dress shirts as well (I have to buy shirts with a larger neck size ti fit my shoulders but they billow at the waist, so recommendations on 'athletic' cuts would be greatly appreciated) I def want a gray suit as well ....so, what direction would you go? Should I go ahead and invest in one killer suit and some bespoke shoes, or get a couple higher-end and build a more versatile wardrobe? I'd love to get your feedback and I am good on watches for the moment (though I am seriously considering a 212 in the near future)
  22. Just so turns out im a Grand Rapidian myself! You ever want to talk watches or test drive something I might have, hit me up
