  1. Thats kind of what I was thinking, I was expecting the watch to look just like the one you posted (but fluted bezel) - but turns out it is coming with a gold dw. I will post pics when it comes. Not sure how I feel about it right now, but I may end up loving it... who knows
  2. I just ordered a DJ and the pics come through. It is a two tone with a fluted bezel, white dial with markers. The problem is date wheel is gold... My question is this - would this be a fantasy model? Is there such a thing as a fantasy model with DJ (considering all of the aftermarket dials, etc)?
  3. Are you talking about the earnest sewn in the meat paking district or the LE side - or doesn't matter?
  4. I haven't purchased one yet. I am waiting to receive the watch before I go with a strap. That strap on that OW looks mighty slick though
  5. I haven't seen Shameless UK - but I loved the US version, WIlliam H Macy is brilliant ...also, I have no idea of the pikee dynamic - but I am well versed in the Chicago Southie I started watching Misfits (based on these recs) ... really not bad - are there more than 2 seasons?
  6. Well, quite the education - thanks guys. I have finally decided to retire some of my jeans so I am going to need replacements. I am going to be moving back to NY in a week or two if anyone wants to recommend a boutique I really like the look of the Roy's, nudies as well
  7. BT - in case you change your mind you can rent one for the bargain basement price of $25,000 a day; but you'll get your $160,000 deposit back when all goes well http://blog.purentonline.com/index.php/2009/06/17/rent-a-bugatti-veyron-for-a-day/ Or you can just buy the rep. It's not a 1:1 or anything but you'll get just as many looks tooling around with it
  8. Dave I think it might be a scam - thats a EB 110, not a veyron. You can thank me later
  9. Anyone wear them? What is about them that supports the high price tag?
  10. Its definitely not beyond repair. You can adjust the balance spring to fine tune the rate. If you do some searching around you will find some instructions, but here is a picture to give you a better idea That being said, 4 sec/min is a lot so you should probably get it serviced - which is a good idea with any movement anyways
  11. Thanks for the link, exactly what I am looking for
  12. Who is this directed towards? Is this some sort of failed attempt at irony? Because it sounds as though you, who's SN happens to be 'Rolexaddict', are saying that rolex collectors are narrow-minded idiots
  13. I finally invested in my first DJ and I am planning on putting a leather strap on it. I will most likely be switching from strap to bracelet every now again. The DJ will look approximately like this I would love a gen rolex strap but I am not planning on investing that much right now. Right now I am leaning toward brown Does anyone know of a good spot to get a (relatively) affordable leather strap? its a 36 mm case thanks in advance -P
  14. Aquanaut. There is something about the Nautilus case that I don't like ...just my 2 bits
  15. My understanding is that these are pretty rare. Thought maybe someone here would be interested http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=178030 I have nothing to do with this sale btw
  16. Storm: Is that your pic? Because I would love to see an entire spread of PAMs with baby zoo animals It'd be brilliant
  17. Hmmm, all things I didn't know. So is there a benefit to the low beat movement?
  18. I've never been a fan of 005, but that being said, I can't really get over the picture of the brooklyn bridge. Just seems like such an odd thing to have engraved on your watch. Also, wouldn't anyone familiar enough to call you out on the movement of your 005 also know that they only made 150 of the 318. I guess I'll just put it in the category of things I will never understand - with women, cricket, and skinny jeans
  19. What kind of mobility do you have in that thing? It seems like a wrist splint
  20. So that begs the question, why does the newer version have a low beat movement?
  21. What's with all the hullabaloo over the 318? I just don't get it Isn't it, for all intents and purposes, a 005 with a brooklyn bridge on the back? I am assuming I am missing something....
  22. I have been eyeballing the Santos for sometime - in fact I think I am going to head to my local Cartier AD today to check it out - thanks for the rec @PFGTR - Since I can't sell my HBB I am thinking of putting a gummy on it to see if that does the trick for me. I know this may be counter-intuitive, but after working with TAG's I have become disenchanted with them. Perhaps its like working at a brothel, but they just don't do it for me anymore. The straight carrera is really sharp though. TAG adding the Day-Date carerra was one of there best additions a really beautiful piece...... unlike the Calibre 36 (BTW I have some TAG advert in the GD section I am auctioning for the forum, there is a poster of your Carerra available ) I have never considered the railmaster though, another good call. Thanks!
  23. This past winter I moonlighted as a TAG dealer. While there I acquired a bit of marketing material that I really have no use for. With TT's permission I am offering these up for auction to support the forum. 100% of the money will be going directly to the forum - to alleviate any suspicions of chicanery. I will be paying for Priority shipping to the highest bidder (CONUS only guys, sorry) Once I get word from the ADMIN that a donation was made I will ship. I plan on shipping this weekend, so I am going to end this guy Friday 05.20.2011 @ 00:00 EST (That's Midnight Thursday night for the mouth-breathers out there.) I have an advert poster that was designed to be back lit(it was hung in a light box at the store. It is made of a thick clear plastic with the ad printed on to it. There is some wear from use (I hung this on my window for effect, that's what the cross bars are) The second is a black, leather-bound journal. It has the TAG logo embossed on the front. It is brand new and never used. These were given out with purchase of a watch and are not, nor ever were, available for individual purchase So oil the hinges on your wallet - it's for a good cause
