  1. Here is a pic of a YM I purchased from a scam site. It was listed for $650.00 I believe? I ended up getting it "on sale" for Christmas - I believe I ended up paying about $500.00 with a box. It does have an ETA movement, and I am pleased with the quality all things considered. It is my daily beater, I wear it most days. But just because I enjoy the watch doesn't mean I wasn't scammed *edt: BTW I went back to the website and now all they sell are Canal St. Reps with asian movements. $75.00 will buy you any of 'em
  2. Oh, and in response to your question. I sent a watch to Canada that said "novelty item: watch" on the customs declaration (stupid... I know) but it was delivered no problem. I just think it is good policy not to ship things back to Asia
  3. Im no expert, but like teejay said its possible the stem never engaged. Before sending it back, I would take the back off and try to reinsert the stem. If you search around im sure you can find pictures of the movement to illustrate this, but you need to depress a "button" to accomplish this
  4. Can anyone tell me what size strap this watch takes?
  5. Andreww - that was a rhetorical question. I appologize if I offended you. I am trying to hold a dialogue in an attempt to inspire those watching to donate, not single you out. If the admins decided to go invite only, there is no doubt your name would be at the top of the list, certainly before mine. But what we have is a situation that is affecting everyone of the members of this board, VIP or not. And for those who can donate, should - more than anything, that will alleviate pressure on the Admin team.
  6. @Seanf - Your absolutely right. I personally dont know what it would cost to move the server to CHINA.... hell, I don't know where the server is know - but I know it isn't free, and therefore the suggestion shouldn't be made by someone unwilling to support. ...Which is what I was getting at before I flew off the spear (sorry)
  7. You couldn't be more right. I wish I could donate more to the forum, I am just not as knowledged as you are - or as many are. And I believe yours to be a special case, you definitely contribute to the forum with your posts. But you are the exception and not the rule. And your hard work, for all it is worth, isn't going to buy the forum more RAM when it is needed.
  8. Money is tight for me too. I am a law student, I am not allowed to have a job. Since being here, I have only purchased one watch from a dealer, and it was a gift. I wish I could have been involved in the HBB or the MBW, and I finally saved up enough to get in on the Ferrari GB. I realized early that my 30 bucks is going to be better spent investing in the future of the forum, than in putting a new bezel insert in my $50 sub. This is not about wallet size. Andrew, how many watches do you have? *edit for grammar
  9. @Seanf. I am certain that TeeJay as well as many other non-VIP have loads of posting potential, but better to give us than the forum itself? Without money there is no forum. Period. If everyone opted not to donate, where would we be? 62 members watching - 27 paid for VIP *edited to cool my tongue
  10. @teejay - how do you recommend approving of membership?
  11. Seanf - Though I agree with you that it takes sometime to really get into this hobby, how many people feel the way you do? It seems to me that alot of the people perusing this forum are looking to get the best rep they can for cheap, and that the hard earned lessons of the few are enjoyed by many. The least they can do is cough up $20 to support the forum And "donating" to raffles is like buying a scratch off lotto ticket. You can say your supporting education all you want, but your really just trying to win
  12. Yet you continue to post here. Yet you continue to benefit from the information that other people give to you. Yet you still spend your money on reps that would be unavailable to you otherwise. And you can't manage to donate to the forum? Today its the "Cartel", tomorrow it will be something else. Seanf - good for you, if everyone who benefited would own up and VIP then we wouldn't have some of these issues
  13. I think the admin likes to keep it public so that non-vip members can voice there opinions about how the board is run
  14. I think Ny has the best sub... I'd say London, but they call it the tube
  15. I am member of several other forums, and it is not unheard of to have to pay to be a part of them. I think this would be good policy. I have not been here terribly long, but the first thing I did was up to VIP membership. I agree, drop the low post count members and make "VIP" membership mandatory. I am constantly amazed at the number of non-VIP that like to discuss the happenings of the board. I don't mean to sound elitist, as I clearly have no higher standing than any other, but the lack of support astonishes me. I think this would help to eliminate the newbie issues that have been springing up, as well as keeping out watchful eyes My 2 cents :penguin:
  16. ...and I while in my '77 bronco Ofcourse it does have a similar logo
  17. Lets get this show on the road 1. yodaddynukka 2. bigpops 3. physher007 4. overboosted 5. Chicken Manny 6. ganjamun 7. nelly 8. senilecoot 9. section8 10. Littleme Let me know if you need anything done sash - I am dying to get this watch
  18. Overboosted posted earlier that he purchased the xbox from a friend. It would seem Josh donated $200 towards reimbursing him, as the roceeds from the raffle will be donated. In essence donating $200 to the raffle while making sure OB was taken care of ...please correct me if I am mistaken. and im in for 15
  19. 1. yodaddynukka 2. bigpos 3. physher007 4. overboosted I think that we need confirmation on which strap will be coming with it, and I personally would like to know what the difference between this one and the GMT ttk is selling. Seeing as he wants to make such a big deal of it
  20. I'd be in on this, if it were to get off the ground
  21. Why don't you just 'swirl' it to get it started and them slap it on your wrist?
  22. So ya know, I contacted a different dealer a few days ago in regards to the HBB His reply: "Yes i can get the Hublot Big Bang now Thank you very much"
  23. Well the real [censored] of it all is that he paid extra to make sure it was top grade and not dropped shipped
  24. Thats a bucket full of jellyfish which, when salted, is a delicacy in China weirdos
  25. I was flipping through my National Geographic and came across this picture. (I obviously photoshopped the circle in) I guess there are other replica companies that just can't get it quite right.
