  1. Just received this from River and I found myself loving the new look of this 47mm vintage model. I just can't bear to send it for aging mods. I have other 6152 coming in soon. Maybe I should just keep this as it is until later.

River has lightly aged the hands though. Nice job, I must say.

What do you think? NOS or mod?

Bezel looks less glossy than gen and resembles the UPO but in blue. Other than that I think it's a very nice piece. Finish is very well done.
  3. Thanks! It's one of my favorite vintage Rolex any day.

Excellent work. For improvements, I would consider some 'enhanced patination' & try to get a closer match for the color of the hand lume & dial lume.

Sounds like the inevitable. The more I look at it the more I feel it needs more realistic vintage lume color.

Fade the insert. Match the hands. Tritium pearl.

Looks fantastic by the way. Amazing job on the fixed bars.

Where can I get the tritium pearl? Should I get one of the aftermarket ones from eBay?

Got this done but wondering what else I can do for it...

    Watch case: MBW

    Movement: ETA 2846

    Dial: Yuki

    Hands: Omega Seamaster 300

    Insert: Aftermarket from classicwatchparts

    Crystal: Watchmaterial

Lug bars: Self made using 2mm marine grade steel bar

    Jobs done:

    - Drilling lug holes

    - Microwelding of steel bars

    - Sanding edges of lugs to flatten ends of lug bars

    - Reshaping of CG

So what else can I do? Vintage relume of hands? Vintagizing the insert?

  5. There should be no need use hairdryer on a watch, unless it has absolutely no water resistance then you shouldn't even wash the watch at all. The only watches I know do not have such WR are the gen vintage ones with old gaskets. If you need to clean such watches, use a dry and clean toothbrush.

Something is still not quite right about this 1:1 "Made with a Genuine Watch Dissected...".

Comparing to these photos of gen...

    • Bezel of 1:1 rep looks much wider than gen
    • 1:1 rep seemed have increased size from 114270 mainly on the bezel, while gen dial looks larger
    • Hands on 1:1 rep look larger than gen
    • What do you think? Am I wrong, coz I sure hope I am so I can get one of these and be happy with it.
  7. We need more attention to these beauties!

INGENIEUR AUTOMATIC AMG BLACK SERIES CERAMIC REFERENCE 3225

    8564863798_96d573520f_b.jpg

"... The new Ingenieur Automatic AMG Black Series Ceramic packs the same outstanding features as an AMG Mercedes: exclusiveness and high performance, combined with everyday practicality, reliability and quality. As a tribute to its namesake, the designers of the Ingenieur Automatic AMG Black Series Ceramic, Reference 3225, have used the colour black to its best and most elegant advantage. Some of the surfaces have a high-gloss, piano lacquer-like finish, while some are silky matt. This intriguing interplay makes the timepiece, which is also available with a brown dial, a conspicuous eye-catcher..."

"... The new Ingenieur Dual Time Titanium takes the hard work out of keeping on track while moving from one time zone to another by showing a second local time of the wearer’s choice. This way, people who move rapidly from one continent or time zone to the next and who communicate worldwide will always stay on top of things. On the dial, we see current local time. This can be advanced or moved back in one-hour steps via the rubber-coated crown, even beyond the International Date Line. The hand with the white triangle indicates the second time on the outer 24-hour ring, meaning that the wearer’s home time or the local time of a business partner are always visible. To make it easier to differentiate between day and night, the top half, from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., is darker than the lower half. The Ingenieur Dual Time Titanium is available with a black rubber strap..."

  8. How is the hardness of this carbon case? Is it as hard as gen, or softer and only cosmetically true to gen?

You've done fantastic job, Imaknockov, on the GP and for this Diver... Any plan to expand the range to 26400AU? I'd much prefer a cleaner look like this.

  9. Why all the headaches on stock availability and price of the current reps of APROO GP with CF parts? While I can understand the novelty part of these GPs, I'm actually hoping to see more of the non-CF cases e.g. Michael Schumacher editions. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Here are some of the other non-CF models that are highly possible, considering we already have the case and parts dimensions and just need to change the material configurations:

  10. @seraphe the 45mm has better quality crown & tube threading is longer, crisper more precise dial, better clasp, and most importantly no large CheerioOOOOOOOOO in the OMEGA logo. Overall the 45mm is better constructed. The only downside is the lack of AR which IMHO is not that bad compared to the other high points of this watch. If the AR bothers you that much it's an easy fix since a gen XL PO crystal will fit it. Check with member sunny who sometimes has a stock of double coated aftermarket PO crystals.

Thanks for the elaborations. What do you mean by the CheerioOOOOOOOO i the logo? Do you mean the font is thicker than gen in the name OMEGA?

I do plan to get the Ti LM and perhaps a CrPO 45.5 in due time, but I was told to wait for the 2nd batch, which will have better AR. Will it be worth to the wait?
