  1. It's for the blue bezel model.

I couldn't figure out exactly what WM9 had done, but i read several allegations of them being scammers. Whats up with that?

For the previous versions WM9 quality being similar to (or worse than) the cheaper China reps in past, they were alleged being scammers as they were too expensive. Then with the recent updated ones, some brave forum members decided to test water and bought themselves WM9 watches. One of them being BK. Apparently, the new WM9 aren't as bad as the general rep forum community thought, and price-justification perception has thus changed. Today, it's proven (by many different forum members) to be one of the best reps around.

Do note that the rep market moves fast. When there is a demand, there is always a compelling supply. What you read written years ago may not apply today.

  2. WM9 (watchmaker9.tv) updates the versions of each model from time to time. If you're looking the TT sub, are you referring to a black or blue dial/bezel version? WM9 just updated a new version of the blue dial/bezel 16613 this year (2009) while the black dial/bezel was last updated in 2006. Perhaps the comments you saw from a couple years back were of the older versions? Recent versions updated these two years 2008-2009 had most of the previous flaws corrected.

Talk to bk about it. He can help you clarify all these queries you have and get you what you want.

  3. Can someone explain what "oversize" case actually means? The normal mariner is a 40mm...does that mean it is 42-44mm?!?! Euro's page says 40mm for the oversize.

    Thx

well, as i know now, the oversize case is 42mm...don't know why ET says 40mm. but, as you can read here, this version seems not to be that accurate.

but i still got a question by myselfe. as i wrote, i'm going to order the noobmariner with the gen ETA movement from ET. when it arrives (i guess not before january here in germany), how can i proof the ordered gen ETA is installed? i'm not going to say i don't trust chris, but it may happen, that someone makes a mistake, what's just human.

'Oversize case' isn't referring to larger case size. The new 'oversize cased' subs are still 40mm like the older ones, with wider lugs and CG.

Here's the dimension of YG versions 16618 and the new 116618/116619:

My impression of the upcoming 'oversize cased' steel sub (speculated as 116610LN) is like this:

    See the difference?

The 43mm cased is actually the new DSSD:

  4. That's a whole load of info here. Thanks guys.

If you are using an ETA get the MBW as the stem height will be off inn the YUKI/NDT cases. They are made for Gen movements and the stem height is higher. The MBW has a lower Tube/Crown position because it is designed for an ETA movement.

... And this tube/crown height issue cannot be rectified by thickness of movement spacer ring?

But he is asking, if both an Eta and gen movement will fit in an MBW case, why won't it also fit in a NDT?Yuki? That question really hasn't been answered. Shouldn't you have the same stem height problem in the MBW.

That's my question. Does MBW 1665 take gen 1570 like Yuki/NDT?

A Gen mov't won't fit into an MBW without some manipulation while it is a simple drop in fit in the NDT/Yuki case. Conversely, an ETA fits the MBW case as a drop in but would need manipulation to fit a Gen case (Yuki/NDT).Clear?

... and here's an answer, but still unclear. What kind of modification/manipulation needed to fit 1570-to-MBW or ETA-to-Yuki/NDT? Will a taller/shorter movement spacer ring help?

Hi guysSome time ago, Zigmeister tested one of his Rolex 1520 movt - which has the same physical dimensions as the 1570 - in my MBW 1665 and it fitted well.

So Zigmeister did not modify/manipulate the case? It was a perfect fit? Now we're getting warmer here...

As for the Gen mov't fitting, if the stem is not perfectly centered(Too low/Too high) it will eventually break. No MBW case I have seen has the Tube positioned high enough to avoid this without modification.

Too high... too low... 'No MBW' includes the 1665? If so, we're back to square one.

I had to remove some metal from the outside edge of the calendar ring on the 1575 to get it to seat correctly in my MBW 1665 case (you might be able to locate the thread that described the work via the search). However, I had no problem getting the 1520 to fit in my MBW 5514 case. Both stems are correctly aligned.

Yikes! You're modifying gen movements to fit rep cases? If I have the gen 1575, I'd keep it for Yuki/NDT... You're a brave man, freddy...

I've learnt a whole lot... but still not exactly found my answer. So MBW spacer ring may not help fitting ETA into a Yuki/NDT... how about a modified (thinner? thicker?) spacer ring? If this still doesn't help, I'm now confused by 'Yuki/NDT cases are the best'. Best how? For gen movements only?

    *scratches huge forehead*

  5. Thanks for your advices.

No doubt Yukiwatch and NDT are the best... but how do I fit an ETA into a Yuki/NDT 1665 case? Can I use the spacer ring from MBW?

I was trying to do the math...

    • Yuki/NDT accepts only gen 1570
    • If MBW can accept gen 1570, then MBW spacer ring should fit Yuki/NDT
    • If Yuki/NDT accepts MBW spacer ring, then ETA should be able to fit in Yuki/NDT

Please correct me if I'm wrong somewhere in the equation...

  6. This is for planning the next upgrade available for 1665. Hope to learn more from experts...

    • Does MBW 1665 take gen 1570 movements like Yuki/NDTrading?
    • Does MBW spacer ring fit Yuki/NDTrading?
    • Are the caseback interchangeable between MBW/Yuki/NDTrading?
    • Which case set would you recommend?

Thanks in advance for your guidance.

  7. The 16600 SD should have a 93160 bracelet, so there's only '93160' engraved on the bracelet. No engraving on the SEL.

    Hi friends,

I am interested in changing my seadweller bracelet (it has no number printed and no numer on endlink) with a pretty fine 93150 bracelet with correct endlink (what should be the number engraved on them??)

Which is the best route to go? of couse no gen... it's too expensive...

    Thanks as always!

  8. Things you should know about this oversized cased sub:

This oversized cased sub rep is an impression of one that is not yet released by R*lex. It's supposedly the upcoming steel 116610LN with ceramic bezel speculated to be released in 2010. The oversized case is based on the already released gold versions with blue dial + blue ceramic bezel (YG version 116618LB and WG version 116619LB), and the TT with ceramic bezel (black face + black bezel 116613LN) and (blue face + blue bezel 116613LB).

Unless you do not mind risking being called out for having one that is not yet released by R*lex, you may not want this oversized cased sub.

  9. Wow! Just in time to get mine from you then, T

For such a popular model, how can they stop producing it? I thought we're generating more than enough demand for them to continue with the supply? Are they trying to replicate even the 1500 pc only?

... I'm just glad I got mine. So glad... Phew!~

  10. One of my export executive was asked to prepare reports to bring when we travel for a business trip.

On the day we embarked, I checked with her if she had done the reports. She replied that she had, and she had transferred the files from her desktop to a USB memory stick. Bravo for the convenience of a USB memory stick!

During the meeting with our foreign agent, we needed the data. We plugged the memory stick into my laptop and all I found were nicely organized folders for each related matter... with the small white box and up turning blue arrow on the bottom left on each and every of the folder icon... with the folder names "Shortcut to..."

    I nearly cried.

  11. Thanks, guys. I will try to take better pics and post the trinity when the third one is done ;)

@ssabripo: NICE :D Will look forward to seeing yours...

@babola: You mean the dial text "Luminor Marina" and "Panerai" should be slightly off-white?

@Seadweller4000: Thanks :D I'm basically a black-only on the straps. And after trying on all the black straps I have, this one seems to fit with the satin brushed finish and the darker color of the case. I like this set up too.

  12. After a long 2 months wait with many bouts of excitement and disappointment, yet another of my dream PAM-trinity is finally done. My happiness is beyond what I expected. Thought I should share this happiness here ;)

  13. Easy, guys... You're draggin' this guy deep into the PAM pit :p

Happy birthday, Ssabripo :D Just a thought of your PAM search... have you owned a rep of this 45mm watch before? Are you certain that you will love the sheer size of this watch? As far as I know, watch enthusiasts either love it or hate it.

If you think this watch is the one for you, then my next thought for you is... are you a perfectionist? Most of us started here thinking we'd be happy getting a DSN for the first PAM, but many of us ended up wanting more. DSN offers the best noob PAMs (yes, I think they're fit for noobs though they're not cheap...) but you can hardly mod a DSN any further than what it is. Reason being DSN watches do not accept other rep or gen parts available in the bigger non-DSN market. So if you don't think you'd be picky... then DSN is the right choice.
