  1. Nothing but a Seiko: This titanium 200M diver, or the Orange Monster: I do want one of those 007 divers, the asian model with the round markers. Next watch...
  2. I agree about the cutouts on the new Zeniths. It is funny, we call the same feature a fake turbullion......
  3. Been on a Buell XB for a couple of years. Plenty of soul, sometimes not enough grunt. Tough to knock the handling and exhaust note. I do miss the way my Japanese bikes would rip the front end skyward. Soul or not, that is a rush. Oh yeah, back on topic. There is no way you could get called on a Tag Link rep at a dealer. I'd be surprised if the newer Omega reps didn't pass muster too. Wore a Monster to the local high end AD a couple of weeks ago. No respect at all, like it was a friggin Timex. Idiots.
  4. I've been on RWG 1 and here for about 8 months. I have a few reps from a couple of different dealers. All of the "issues" have definitley blossomed since I first found the group last summer. It is making me want to focus more on PMWF and stick to gens. However, I must say, that this group is much more intellectual and interesting than the other on-line forum I visit (brand specific motorcycle site). I really like the community here and think of it as a sharp and helpful group of people. The "issues" are just getting to me.
  5. "Actually no... I have heard that you can read the time on the monster after hours of darkness" I could read my Monster this morning at 5:00. It did get a little recharge about 1:30am during my nightly [censored], but I'm still impressed. I gave an Orange Monster with a black rubber strap to a buddy for his wedding gift last week. He wore the damn thing with his tux at the wedding! He said it was a wedding gift, so it was appropriate. I thought it was great.
  6. I was wearing my Link non-chrono while walking with crutches (snowboarding accident). The bracelet must have have been torqued a bit, and one of the screws broke off in the shaft inside the link. I got out my extra links and with very little torque either spun the shaft fixed in the left link, or broke off the screw tightening the right link. Long story short: I recommend a light thread locker and barely any torque when tightening the rep Link links. A replacement bracelet is $85. Too much. If I break another of those tiny screws inside the link I am hosed. I'm thinking of just gluing a pin of the correct OD in both left and right links to eliminate the need for the screw. I would do it on the links close to the watch, that will never be needed for adjustment. I do worry, that misplaced glue would prevent the bracelet from flexing, very bad. Has anyone else had this problem? Any good ideas for repairs?
  7. Yeah, if an AD tried that in the US he'd be asking for a serious confrontation.
  8. 90%: Number 2. Especially if it is a brand that few people will scrutinize. I would never wear a 90% Rolex. I'd probably do it with an Omega or Tag, if quality is great, but just font, etc. is off. Markers better be straight!
  9. I know this is basic for most of you, but please help me with this simple question. On a watch with a rotating bezel, do I remove it with a knife, does it just snap on and off? Is there an inner bezel that holds the crystal that is removed the same way? I want to be able to access the hands and dial. I'm not afraid of mechanical things, but am just now learning watch basics. Thanks, Scott
  10. Maybe not Swiss, but genuine ETA. Recently got a 42mm PO from Silix. Needed my watchsmith to make a repair (taken care of by Silix). He verified genuine ETA.
  11. "Im sticking with chronoless auto movements or good hand wind moments and the replica fraternity need to do the same." That's why I bought the non-chrono Link with the ETA 28XX movement. Better odds. Not as stunning as the chrono, but very nice, none-the-less.
  12. Very cool story! I'd give up the hacking motion if the red color on the dial matched the second hand, and the bezel had a quality feel!
  13. You guys don't get any of my elk jerky or sausage this fall. Damn urbanites!
  14. Damnit By-Tor you are killing me. My wife is mad as hell because of the 4th gen PO I bought after reading your review. Now I REALLY WANT this one too. You always review these killer reps that are of moderately priced gens, that a normal person can pull off. You have great taste. Great review, once again. I'll add it to the want list.
  15. Four reps, one problem. Watch arrived with lume sticker loose in watch. Dealer was great about it. Total 58.
  16. Well, I'm now convinced it's not worth screwing with. I do no want to drill my case. So....I bought a thick flat black 20mm leather band at my watchsmith's shop. It looks GREAT, similar to rubber from a distance, but much dressier up close. It is water resistant too, as should be for a dive watch!!! I have the black bezel and orange numbers, and the black strap looks 100% better than the original bracelet. I can't believe the difference. Kudos to the manufacturer of the bracelet though, I was surprised that the end links were solid, rather than the type that you can bend. Nice quality touch.
  17. What I am wondering is: Do Josh's straps fit well or not? The ones in the pictures on this thread looked good, but we keep hearing otherwise.
  18. OK: If Josh has the same straps, why not negotiate a volume group buy price with him? I guarantee he will get many more orders if people are motivated by the group buy.
  19. TeeJay, You can't leave everyone hanging like that. At least PM our fearless leader VMENA with the info.........
  20. Flav: Wow, I did not even say it was a lume sticker that fell off, but you nailed it. It came off of the 1:00 marker. Anybody got an idea what the normal cost is to pull the dial and glue the lume sticker on?
  21. I received a PO from Silix on the 2/21 and emailed them that a sticker from the dial fell off in shipping and is loose in the watch. I emailed again on the 23rd and still have not gotten a reply. Does anybody know if they are on vacation or something?
  22. I'd like a black one, please let me know when you need payment. Thank you for the work.
