  1. Morning mates...whats up here, no love for HUBLOTs?

Josh and Andrew and Connie all show a prototype of the upcoming HUBLOT 4000 DIVER....well, lets see what they have:

....mmh, I was so excited to see a rep of it, now I am down a bit due to the low stage the factory is at now.

Clear is the fact they used the HUBLOT prototype pics (only cumputer animated) to rep this watch....that gets a fast result but also a wrong and only prototype design!

The gen has many different aspects.....

Lets have a list of the most obvious flaws so Josh and Andrew can talk to the factory to get some things sorted.

    - case thickness....rep is way too thin but I think it can be adjusted by using a new middle part and the black plastic underlay for the bezel

    - the caseback is wrong but can be adjusted in thickness and design

    - completely wrong lugs and lug design.....the gen does NOT have these countersunken parts!

    - bezel screws need PVD

    - crowns need rubber inlay

    - ......

The list can go on as there are more flaws, but I would like to see the most obvious ones to be sorted first.

Lets wait and see what they do.....pre-order a prototype watch that is nowhere near 90% of the gen? Nah.....as much as I appreciate the effort of the factory and even though the price is nice, I cannot justify buying fantasy for a rep that could be a hot seller like the PloProf.

    Cheers mates.

BTW....I would go for asian movement, they have never let me down in the past and its an asian made watch anyway :p

  2. Guys....the gen rubber is from equal quality as the rep one (or the other way around).

You buy the gen strap for 190$ (IF you get one of course, some SC make a real fuss on an order like a strap).

But as mentioned above, you´ll need a conversion kit and a buckle anyway.....so here is my suggestion:

Buy the watch with bracelet AND and additional rubber from your dealer, saves you $$$, time and a real headache!

  3. I love mine as well....wears great, easy, comfortable....allthough its the same size as all other ROO´s, it wears smaller due to the combination of grey-is Titanium and the light weight!

P.S.: this watch also handles a lot of different straps from rubber to calf to croc...everything is possible.

  4. EXPLANATION:

When you put on your watch (fitted to a bracelet or with a deployment), you need to get your hand through the strap/bracelet.

You can slip the watch onto your wrist with the watchhead on top of your hand (back of the hand) or

you can slip your watch onto your wrist with the watchhead pointing to the palm of the hand.

Those 2 ways are completey different and the second method is easier for big hands with smaller wrists.

    HAVE A TRY....

  5. Thx for all the advice guys....yesterday evening I pulled out all my watchmaker tools and started the work:

    - shortened the stem a bit

    - but also had to file the tube a bit down to get a good fit for the crown to the case

    - dremeled the nose of the lever a huge amount down....but I was careful enough to test and dremel, test and dremel, test and dremel....

...now everything fits and I am to 90% happy.

DSN offered to re-send a newr, thicker CG...great service of the guy as allways.

    Cheers mates,

  6. ....hi everyone,

just received the parts from DSN to build a complete PAM009 Pre-A.

Unfortunately the crown and CG won´t fit together....as you can see on the pics, when I screw the CG to the case, I cannot close the lever, so the question is:

    - do I need to mod the case and shape the stem-tube down, flush to the case or

    - do I need to mod the crown and shape the inner ring of the crown down to sit flush to the case or

    - do I need to mod the CG and file down the inner nose of the lever that presses down the crown?

Could need some opinion here....crown is the new, thicker 48th crown whereas the CG is the old-style CG.

    Cheers

    Theo
