Frank, the Josh 5513 is not really an option I think, those CG's always look too stumpy no matter what mod.
AFAIK it can't take a gen dial because of the oversized rehaut.
But would you say the old MBW 5513's are better than the new ones?
Cheers
-
So are the old 5513's specs close enough to justify the price?
A nice member offered me one and l'm inclined to take it.
-
Yep the Cartel 5513 has copied the Polex marking.
Anyways, it neither takes gen parts nor has it specs even close to the genuine.
-
One could have a more open mouthed coronet
The other one rather flat
But hard to tell from the pics...
-
Also... Pics of supermodels Akira!!
Sorry guys
I'm not willing to risk a lawsuit for taking pics of celebs or models at the office
-
Interesting Andy
Thanks for the input

To my knowledge
MBW does not equal MBK
So if the watches are different there is a chance the serials are as well
-
Woof l can't send PMs via phone.
Would you PM me your 5512 serial?
That would be great
Thanks

Since I want the CG's to be cut pointed, the case should have enought metal to make it happen.
Had anyone here had both?
Original Maria's Best Watch 5512/3 and newer MBK 5512/3 ?
Thanks

Hello folks,
being a big admirer of the vintage Rolex builts, members have performed on this board, I'm looking for my 5512PCG options.
I have a gilt dial after gen specs, gen superdome T19 and gen crown.
I want it to look like LHOOQ's, because naturally - I want to be just like him
I have read a lot about MBW's - but still don't quite understand what the deal with those MBK 5512's from BKK is.
Reg still can source them and I've heard they take gen parts without big modifications.
So, since Josh's 5512 is way out of specs... Are these current MBK's worth the money? Or is buying a used MBW from
an member the only chance?
If so...
Cheers

Either way l figures l could aa well buy one from a member CONUS
-
Really?
German customs officer would see a sub on your wrist and spot it as a rep?
And then take it from you? That's amazing to me. How do they authenticate a watch?
Chances are they don't spot it at all...
If they do, they might ask for purchase proof, because they'd need a tax proof etc. because of import rules.
19% taxes on any item purchased outside the EU over 450€ and purchased in the last 5 years.
I know chances are small, but I couldn't live happy anymore if anything would go wrong and I'd loose my Franken 1675 because of it.
-
Thanks Val, you know there are a lot of watches in your collection I'd have loved to "loan"
About not taking a watch, I wear one - a genuine Skagen Automatic - but didn't take any reps because of German customs
when getting back....they can be a real PITA
-
Hello fellow members
I thought I'd survive the 6 months in the US without a nice rep on my wrist, but apparently
I was only kidding myself
So here is the deal. CONUS only!
Is there a nice member who likes to sell me either:
1. a very nice modded vintage Rolex?
- 62XX Daytona
- 5512/13
- 5508/5510
- 1665 GW
- 1016
2. recent N-factory PAMs
- surprise me
Also - like some of you know - I lend my 1675 Franken to Solky during my US time.
I'm a trustworthy person and if another trustworthy person would like to "lend" a watch to me...
In exchange for money as a deposit - I'd be more than happy as well.
Meaning, I want to get rid of the watch when I leave the US in August anyways, so we could just agree
I send it back then and you refund the amount
Just post a pic of your offer if you like and I will contact you
PS: Price shouldn't be much over $300 in sale value and not much over $400 in loan
Thanks to all of you
Cheers

Hello folks.
I have a genuine 7205 bracelet without endlinks.
Would WSO endlinks fit the DW Daytona case and take the gen bracelet and springbars?
Thanks for your help

Take 10 minutes and draw yourself a map. 57th street alone has Audemars Piguet, Franck Muller, Tourneau, Wempe, etc. Madison Avenue starts with Cellini on 51st, Panerai on 54th next to the largest IWC boutique (announced but not open) and going north has Breguet, Chopard, Lange, UN (I think) and 3-4 others. And yes, if you are in for looking at random ridiculous high end watches 47th Street between 5-6th is the place. You will never see so many Patek's in the Patek "lunch sack" or tourbillons from everyone. There is far more selection of virtually every brand there than in any boutique. If you are here for days I would split it up with an hour or two for the retail shops and an hour on 47th Street. Have fun.
Vintage Rolex stuff too?
Cheers

Hi Akira,
I've got not much of a technical skill to do it myself
Well, maybe you should check out the member Rolexaddict.
He built several 1675's the last few months, including my Franken 1675.
He's now a trusted modder on RWG1.1

Are you planning on building it yourself?

Anyways, I just bought an MBW 5513 with the same serial as the ones, I know,
other members used years ago.
Different serial and case to the current ones sold in MBK or by Reg.
Thanks for everyones help
This will be a good project
