  1. The 61 is from "C" and "D" series only. It was followed by the 118 from "E" to "F" Series and is continued with the 177 from "G" onwards. The difference is in the dial - it has to be in "tobacco brown" on the 61 and 118, while the 177 has a black dial. Since "H" series, the 177 has the Sandwich dial. Micky
  2. Nice pieces, indeed! In my personal opinion, the DJ is the only watch, that looks really good in SS/Gold. Have you ever tried a brown croc strap on it? You'd be surprised, it's a totaly different appearance - very classy Regards, Micky
  3. hehe, chronus, after some czech beer you'll help yourself by introducing you to the girls, sure about that Andy, maybe we should do the GTG on german ground, so we won't bother our friends in uniform with stuff, that will force them to do, what they are paid for I don't think, we will need the whole of our cars to cross the boarder, so one of them will be a nice safe for our "goods".
  4. Actually, the guy's name was Antoine de Saint Exupery, and he singned with "A." He was a great Romancier and a Pilot, wrote some important Books between 1926 - 1948: L'Aviateur (1926) Courrier Sud (1929) (translated into English as Southern Mail) Vol de Nuit (1931) (translated into English as Night Flight) Terre des Hommes (1939) (translated into English as Wind, Sand and Stars) Pilote de Guerre (1942) (translated into English as Flight to Arras) Lettre
  5. No reason for a "sorry", tonyp1, I'm allright with that. In fact, wannabe pointed out two minor flaws on his baby, and I just wanted to tell him, that there are some issues, that are much more obvious - as he asked to rate his sub. Nothing more and nothing less TT maybe right with his words, however I think 99,9% of the population would even recognize a genuine as fake. There's "Rolex" printed on the dial, so it must be fake
  6. Yeah, you took some nicer words, than I did Ok, I change my statement into: It would have been a nice watch, if it was bought 2 years ago. Cheers Idiot oops - Micky
  7. Don't know, how to say it in a way that doesn't harm your enthusiasm for your new toy. but... - I can see some more flaws. To be honest, I can't see anything, but flaws.... Case, crown, CG's, clasp, dial-printing, hands, date-font - everything looks a bit like a SUB - but that's all. Sorry mate, but you asked... Hope, you didn't gave to much money for it. It was the same with me, some years ago. I bought my first SUB and was really happy with it, until the moment, when I came to compare it with other reps and genuine ones. Suddenly I knew, I was scammed No offense meant, believe me, I have a bad conscience by writing this. But I think the usual nice-watch-wear-it-in-good-health-blabla would be unfair... Cheers and welcome aboard, Micky
  8. I'd be in, if it's in the mid of july Don't know anything about opening times, but Helmut or piratedzeus seem to know... Maybe we should start a topic in the general discussion?
  9. I don't think, you will damage a movement just by using it's functions. Due to it's construction, a modern movement is, although it's a a complicated machine, durable and sturdy - if well finished and serviced. If some functions are used in a way, that is not usual, the only thing you have to fear about is the shorter terms of servicing the watch. I, for example, collected vintage Omegas. Most of them where running for more than 40 years and I'm sure, not every owner handled them very carefully. I never had any Problems with the Movements, apart from oiling and replacing spare parts. None of them was really damaged. Hope, that helps a bit
  10. As far as I can see, these are watches of not the highest quality available. The swan neck regulator on the Unitas movements is missing, the SEL's on the Rolexes look poor and and and... On the pictures of the watch you mentioned, the complete regulation device on that Valjoux is simply not there I'm sure, if you ask one of the trusted "collectors", you will get a better quality for less than a quarter of that prices. Cheers Micky
  11. Hmm... I'd be interested anyway - just for the fun in it
  12. Moin Helmut! Welcome aboard - you'll see, after reading and reading and reading in the forum, your next experiences won't be that bad. By the way - I think, I have to drive to the Czech boarder some day, I heard a lot of the markets over there. With all that Germans here, we should organize a get together and discover that places. Greetings from the Teufelsmoor, Micky
  13. After some google research, I have to agree: "US President George W. Bush is a very modest person: he wears a 50-dollar Timex Indiglo watch. The American president is sure that he will never lose his watch ...( )...: the presidential watch has a personal engraving on the back: George W. Bush President January 20, 2001." English Pravda Here is the complete article, very interesting, though. Now I know, where all those Patek's are sold Putin wears a 60,000-dollar watch in comparison with George W.Bush's Timex for $50
  14. As far as I know, the traditional watch for an US President is the Vulcain Cricket, isn't it? In this case, it's much cheaper than a Timex, because it's sponsored Not joking, too...
  15. About 1 Year ago, I had some reps serviced by a watchsmith in Bremen. I have his adress and phone number, shouldn't be a problem to ask him, if he's still in business. I have to contact him anyway, because I have an issue, too. So, if that's a solution for your problem, let me know... Regards, Micky
